Chapter 1106: Cheli
Qinglong seemed not to have heard Zheng Yingxiong’s words; he was just staring blankly at the sky.
Something felt wrong.
A strange memory had inexplicably appeared in his mind.
In that memory, he was standing at the Chetou with Qiao Jiajin and Zhangshan, the three of them panting as they talked about something.
The next second, Qiao Jiajin seemed to lunge toward some other object—it wasn't Qinglong or Tianlong, but something else entirely.
Yet Qinglong couldn't recall what Qiao Jiajin was lunging at; he only remembered trying to stop him.
Meanwhile, not far away, Tianlong remained asleep, his hand gently supporting his cheek, his face unchanged.
Qinglong quickly reviewed the memory in his mind but found he could never quite remember why he and the other two had been at the Chetou.
Was this some kind of illusion...?
Qinglong knew it wasn't strange for someone in Zhongyan Zhidi to control illusions, since the train had specialized Huan Shi that made eyeballs constantly transform into Dao.
But it was rare for illusions to be directly implanted into one's mind, which was highly suspicious.
Had someone nearby activated Hui Xiang?
Qinglong turned and surveyed the vast room. Besides the immobilized people in front of him, there were two corpses.
One was Zhangshan, and the other was Dilong.
The two lay far apart on the ground, both appearing thoroughly dead.
Qinglong had a rough idea of everyone's Hui Xiang... so what was this illusion?
Duo Xin Po has indeed disappeared!
Zheng Yingxiong shouted again while Qinglong was distracted.
Only then did Qinglong snap back to reality, thinking to himself that this was bad, and he quickly tried to muster his resolve again.
But in that split second, Xuanwu reached out and gripped Qinglong's heart.
Qinglong's resolve wavered greatly the moment his heart was seized, and instantly, the Duo Xin Po on everyone vanished.
After regaining control of his body, Qi Xia quickly scanned the area. All the Men had disappeared, leaving only a few Cui Tao Zhi Men leading out of the venue.
They couldn't afford a direct confrontation with Qinglong now; they had to leave him to Xuanwu for the time being.
In Qi Xia's view, it didn't matter which of them—Qinglong or Xuanwu—took heavy damage here, since this was just the beginning of the plan.
More attacks targeting the two would follow.
Perhaps for everyone in Zhongyan Zhidi, the signal to start the plan was the Ju Zhong being destroyed.
But for Qi Xia himself, the signal was the death of Dilong.
From Dilong's death onward, everything entered the countdown. The massive wheel of rebellion was now in motion, crashing toward the iceberg—either the mountain would be destroyed, or the ship would sink, and there was no turning back for anyone.
Prepare to withdraw.
Qi Xia turned back and said to the group.
Everyone understood and began moving toward the Cui Tao doors.
Before Xuanwu could remove his heart, Qinglong vanished on the spot and reappeared instantly behind Xuanwu, seemingly aiming for a weak point.
Xuanwu was startled and vanished, reappearing in the same place in the blink of an eye, turning to face Qinglong and blocking his attack.
Watching the two fight like immortals, the group suppressed their anxiety and kept heading toward the doors.
But Qinglong and Xuanwu were too fast. Before the group could reach the doors, Xuanwu stepped back, reached out, and grasped a heart that appeared out of thin air—it was bluish-black, as if deprived of blood for a long time.
Cough...
Qinglong spat out a large mouthful of blood and slowly lowered his head.
Seeing this, the group paused, feeling the situation was more unexpected than anticipated.
Had Qinglong been killed by Xuanwu?
Was this really not a dream?
It wasn't until Xuanwu crushed the heart in his hand and dropped it to the ground with a sickening squelch that the group realized it was real.
Qinglong's heart had been ripped out by Xuanwu.
Lao Qi... did you predict this outcome...?
Chen Junnan asked.
Qi Xia's expression remained serious as he hurriedly said to the group,
Don't stop! Keep moving!
Ah...?
No sooner had the words left his mouth than Qinglong lifted his head, his face twisted in madness, and shot toward Xuanwu like a bullet, unleashing a devastating strike with all his might.
Boom.
Xuanwu used every ounce of strength to block Qinglong's body, but she was sent flying like a kite with its string cut, crashing into the massive display screen.
Xuanwu burst through the wall, shattering the screen, with fragments and the Zi below scattering like fireworks.
The once orderly Cangjie Qi venue instantly turned into a battlefield ruin. Xuanwu flew toward an edge wall and slammed into it, creating a deep crater.
Damn...
As Chen Junnan ran toward the door, he said with lingering fear,
What the hell is Qinglong made of... How can he still be alive after having his heart taken?
Qiao Jiajin kept glancing back. No one in the world could survive losing their heart—what was going on with Qinglong?
While running, Qiao Jiajin lost his footing, as if he had stepped on something, and nearly fell.
He steadied himself and looked down, realizing he had stepped on a Zi.
It was Shi.
Almost instinctively, he bent down to pick up the Zi, feeling something linger in his heart.
Lao Qiao! Keep running!
Chen Junnan said,
If that old guy snaps out of it, we're done for.
Jun Nan Zi... this Zi...
Shi?
Chen Junnan paused and looked at Qiao Jiajin's hand,
Isn't that the one from Zhangshan?
Qiao Jiajin now knew what was lingering in his heart.
It was the promise he had made with Zhangshan to gaze at the heavens and the earth together.
He tucked the Zi into his pocket and left without looking back.
The group rushed out through the Cui Tao doors and spotted another solitary Men not far away.
That one led to Zhongyan Zhidi.
You all go first!
Qi Xia said,
I need to wait a bit longer.
Wha...
Chen Junnan was stunned,
What are you waiting for, Lao Qi? Staying here is just asking to die!
It's not time yet.
Qi Xia said,
Try to scatter and hide. The entire Zhongyan Zhidi is about to descend into chaos. Until we get back to the Lieche, don't trust any Shen Shou or Sheng Xiao. We'll rendezvous at the Ju Zhong.
Don't trust any Shen Shou or Sheng Xiao...?
Chen Junnan clearly didn't understand,
Lao Qi... what do you mean?
Because I told a massive lie.
Qi Xia said,
I deceived them all.
