Chapter 904: Everyone's Identity
As the sound of the bell faded, a figure appeared outside the gate. It was a young man in a black robe with an average face, but he emanated a formidable presence. His gaze swept over the crowd, and a cold light flickered in his eyes.
"Who dares to cause trouble here?" he demanded, his voice echoing through the courtyard.
The crowd fell silent, intimidated by his aura. They recognized him as one of the disciples of the Yunhai Sect.
"It was me," a voice spoke up from the back. A man stepped forward, his face hidden by a wide-brimmed hat.
The young man in black frowned. "Who are you?"
"Someone who wants to see the Sect Master," the man replied.
"The Sect Master is not available," the young man said dismissively. "State your business, and I will pass it on."
"It's a personal matter," the man insisted. "I must speak with him directly."
The young man's patience wore thin. "You are being unreasonable. If you don't state your business, I will have to ask you to leave."
"I'm afraid I cannot do that," the man said, his voice taking on a steely edge.
The atmosphere grew tense. The crowd watched with bated breath, sensing that a confrontation was imminent.
Just as the young man was about to speak again, a voice called out from within the sect. "Let him in, A'Lei."
A'Lei, the young man in black, looked surprised but quickly bowed his head. "Yes, Sect Master."
He stepped aside, allowing the man to enter. The man walked past him without a word and disappeared through the gate.
A'Lei watched him go, a curious expression on his face. He then turned back to the crowd, his gaze lingering on them for a moment before he closed the gate.
The crowd dispersed, buzzing with speculation about the identity of the mysterious visitor and the nature of his business with the Yunhai Sect Sect Master.
Inside the sect, the man with the hat was led to a reception hall. He waited there for a short time before the Sect Master arrived.
The Sect Master was an old man with a long beard and kind eyes. He looked at the man with a gentle smile. "You wished to see me?"
The man nodded and removed his hat, revealing a face that was both familiar and unexpected.
The Sect Master's eyes widened in surprise. "You...?"
The man smiled faintly. "It is I."
A long silence followed, filled with unspoken emotions and shared history. Finally, the Sect Master spoke, his voice soft.
"It has been a long time."
"Indeed," the man replied. "Too long."
They sat in silence for a moment longer, the weight of their past hanging in the air.
"What brings you here?" the Sect Master asked, his voice laced with curiosity.
The man's smile faded, replaced by a serious expression. "I have come to discuss something important."
He leaned forward, his voice dropping to a low tone. "It concerns the recent events in the cultivation world."
The Sect Master's expression also turned serious. "I have heard some disturbing rumors."
"They are not just rumors," the man said. "Things are changing. And not for the better."
He went on to explain the purpose of his visit, the details of which remained a secret between the two of them.
Meanwhile, outside the sect, the crowd was still discussing the mysterious visitor. Among them was a young woman, her eyes filled with suspicion.
She had been watching the man with the hat closely, and something about him seemed off. His posture, his movements – they were too deliberate, too controlled.
She couldn't shake the feeling that he was not who he appeared to be.
As she pondered this, she noticed a subtle detail she had missed before. A small emblem on the man's clothing, hidden beneath his hat.
Her eyes widened in realization. She recognized the emblem. It belonged to a group that was known for its secrecy and its dangerous activities.
Her heart pounded in her chest. She knew then that the man's visit to the Yunhai Sect was not a friendly one.
She had to do something. She had to warn the Sect Master.
But how? She was just a member of the crowd, with no connection to the Yunhai Sect.
She stood there, her mind racing, trying to figure out a way to deliver her warning. The fate of the Yunhai Sect, and perhaps the entire cultivation world, might depend on it.
As the sun began to set, casting long shadows across the courtyard, she made a decision. She would try to get inside the sect. She didn't know if she would succeed, but she had to try.
With renewed determination, she took a deep breath and walked towards the gate, her eyes fixed on her goal. The future was uncertain, but she knew she had to act.
