Chapter 798: Emperor's Weapon

Chapter 798: Emperor Weapon

Whoosh!

In the misty virtual sky above, a mass of fresh blood enveloped in divine light streaked across the heavens, moving at incredible speed and tracing a beautiful arc beneath the starry expanse.

Behind it, Ye Chen was like a golden divine rainbow, and Ji Ning Shuang was like a tri-colored divine glow, pursuing closely.

“Leave it for me!”

In the next instant, Ye Chen’s speed surged. He took a single step that covered over a thousand zhang, extending his golden hand across the sky to grasp the mass of fresh blood.

However, the fresh blood seemed to possess its own intelligence, slipping through his fingers before Ji Ning Shuang could even deploy her sealing prohibitions. It vanished in the blink of an eye.

“What the hell is going on?” Ye Chen muttered under his breath, his blood energy surging as he gave chase once more. He wasn't upset about losing the Huang Gu Sheng Ti fresh blood or the Xuan Ling Zhi Ti blood; rather, the whole affair felt eerily strange, piquing his curiosity.

Beside him, Ji Ning Shuang felt the same. A straightforward bloodline exchange had turned inexplicably bizarre, and the fused fresh blood was behaving in such an odd manner that she couldn't make sense of it.

And so, the two chased for over eight thousand li without managing to intercept the fresh blood.

“Long Ye.” In desperation, Ye Chen called out to the Tai Xu Gu Long.

“Get lost!” Immediately, his sea of consciousness echoed with the Tai Xu Gu Long's furious scolding, likely still fuming over being doused in urine earlier.

“You bastard, you started it first.” Ye Chen shot back, unleashing a string of curses.

“Then you went and pissed on my head?” The Tai Xu Gu Long had black lines across its face, flames blazing in its massive dragon eyes.

“I didn't crap on your head, and that's already generous.” Ye Chen scratched his ear.

“@#¥@#*&#!”

“Hey, you tricked me once, I got you back once—we're even now.” Ye Chen cleared his throat. “I'm calling because I have a quick question. After Ji Ning Shuang and my fresh blood fused, it just flew off and is hauling ass. We're still chasing it, you know?”

Upon hearing this, the Tai Xu Gu Long, who was on the verge of exploding again, had its eyes light up instantly.

“There's such a thing?”

As it spoke, the Tai Xu Gu Long linked into Ye Chen’s vision, squinting at the fleeing mass of fresh blood ahead and muttering to itself, “The bloodlines of Huang Gu Sheng Ti and Xuan Ling Zhi Ti fusing isn’t unusual, but for it to develop intelligence—that’s something else. Could it be...”

At that thought, the Tai Xu Gu Long’s eyes burst with fiery excitement.

“It’s not escaping on its own—something is summoning it.”

“Long Ye, have you figured it out?” Ye Chen asked while rapidly pursuing the fresh blood.

“Boy, chase it for all you’re worth. Its destination has to have a heaven-defying treasure.” The Tai Xu Gu Long bellowed, its tone brimming with excitement, its breathing ragged as if thrilled beyond measure. If not for the seals restraining it, it might have leaped out.

“Heaven-defying treasure?” Ye Chen raised an eyebrow, glancing at the Tai Xu Gu Long. The creature was even more worked up than he'd expected—more so than when it heard about Hun Dun Qi.

“What exactly is it?” Curiosity got the better of Ye Chen, and he asked.

“I don’t know what it is, but it’s definitely connected to Xuan Yuan Da Di.” The Tai Xu Gu Long took a deep breath.

“Xuan Yuan Da Di?” The name made Ye Chen’s heart quake. Among the 130 emperors of Xuan Huang, this was the universally acknowledged strongest great emperor. Even though he'd heard of it before, the shock was immense—the one emperor of ten thousand ages, the supreme among supremes!

“The bloodline Xuan Yuan Da Di carried was a combination of Huang Gu Sheng Ti and Xuan Ling Zhi Ti. Now, your Sheng Ti bloodline and Ji Ning Shuang’s Xuan Ling Zhi Ti bloodline have fused by sheer chance, as if awakening some force. It’s not the blood escaping—it’s being summoned by a powerful presence.”

“Da Chu actually still has treasures linked to Xuan Yuan Da Di.” Ye Chen murmured to himself.

“Boy, you have to get that treasure no matter what.” The Tai Xu Gu Long said earnestly. “Xuan Yuan Da Di shook the ancients and illuminated the ages—anything tied to him is bound to be a heaven-defying existence.”

“That has to be ours.” Without needing the reminder, Ye Chen burned his essence, boosting his speed dramatically and streaking through the virtual sky like a golden divine light.

Behind him, Ji Ning Shuang burned her vital energy too, her speed not matching Ye Chen's but still remarkably swift.

In this way, the three—two in pursuit and one fleeing—painted the misty night sky with vibrant colors.

Meanwhile, the Tai Xu Gu Long stared intently, its eyes flickering with obscure divine light, laden with deep meaning. “Da Chu, you’re not as simple as I thought. This land—how many secrets does it hide?”

Stop!

At some point, Ye Chen, soaring through the virtual sky, came to an abrupt halt, with Ji Ning Shuang stopping a second or two later.

Now, both narrowed their eyes, fixated on what lay ahead. A thousand zhang in front of them was a sea of clouds, hazy and ethereal, illusory and swirling. It was strangely otherworldly, flickering in and out of existence as if not belonging to the mortal realm, evoking a dreamlike sensation.

The fused mass of fresh blood had darted into this peculiar sea of clouds just a second before.

“What is this place?” Ji Ning Shuang frowned slightly, her gaze shifting to Ye Chen.

“I don’t know.” Ye Chen replied, activating his Liu Dao Xian Lun Yan and staring fixedly at the sea of clouds a thousand zhang away.

He realized the sea of clouds was vast beyond measure; even his divine sense and vision couldn't penetrate its depths, as if some mysterious force was blocking them.

As he watched, Ye Chen slowly narrowed his left eye, catching sight of various strange scenes: a sea of blood, thunderbolts, vast mountains and rivers, majestic palaces and pavilions, dancing fairies, and patches of splendid immortal realms...

But with a brief distraction, those images vanished. When he looked again, the scenes had changed, a weave of bizarre visions shifting each time, like sleight of hand.

“Illusion.” Ye Chen furrowed his brow.

“I have a sense of palpitations.” Ji Ning Shuang frowned lightly and murmured.

“Me too.” Ye Chen took a deep breath, gathering his nearly recovered Liu Dao Xian Lun Yan pupil power to a pinpoint and focusing on the sea of clouds.

This time, he pierced through layers of cloud and illusion, glimpsing deeper within.

Roar! Roar! Roar! Roar!

Vaguely, he heard mighty beast roars and beheld a magical vista: a place of wonders, radiant with divine light and interwoven with the sounds of the great dao. There were several illusory giant beasts—or more precisely, the four divine beasts: Shen Long coiling, Feng Huang screeching, Bai Hu roaring, and Xuan Wu paving the way—as they rampaged through the surging sea of clouds.

“Open for me!”

Ye Chen shouted, and a trickle of fresh blood seeped from the corner of his left eye. His intensely focused Liu Dao Xian Lun Yan pupil power once again cut through the illusions, revealing a suspended sword. It wasn't radiating divine brilliance as he'd imagined; instead, it appeared utterly ordinary and unadorned.

Puff!

Ye Chen spat out blood on the spot, staggering back four or five steps before dropping to one knee. His Liu Dao Xian Lun Yan plunged into blindness at that very moment.

Puff!

Simultaneously, his Xing Chen Dao Shen in Bei Chu vomited blood and, mid-flight, plummeted from the virtual sky.

Puff! Puff!

Right after, the last clone Ye Chen had left in Zheng Yang Zong disintegrated into ash, and the final clone in the desert vanished into nothingness at the same time.

What's more, the Tai Xu Gu Long deep in the underground world of Zheng Yang Zong had its massive soul body shudder violently, its vast soul power dissipating in an instant.

Uh...!

Ye Chen groaned in pain, clutching his left eye with his hand, black fresh blood seeping through his fingers. His appearance was terrifying: blood streamed from his mouth, nose, and ears, his powerful Sheng Ti body was drenched in blood, and his essence and true yuan were being eroded by some strange force.

Seeing this, Ji Ning Shuang rushed forward, her face turning pale in an instant.

“Don’t touch me.” Ye Chen roared hoarsely, blood gushing from his mouth nonstop as his holy body cracked open, golden fresh blood spraying out and turning him into a blood-soaked figure.

But his warning came too late—Ji Ning Shuang’s jade hand had already touched his shoulder, intending to mend his wounds.

The moment she made contact, an invisible force radiating from Ye Chen flung her back. Even with her cultivation and strength, her jade arm was left bloody and mangled.

“Suppress for me!”

Ye Chen roared, summoning the Hun Dun Shen Ding to hover above his head, its Hun Dun Qi cascading down like a waterfall. He used his natal artifact to suppress himself.

Only then did his body stop trembling, and that invisible, mysteriously powerful force gradually faded.

Heaven and earth fell into a dead silence at that moment.

In front of the strange sea of clouds, Ye Chen lay suppressed by the Hun Dun Shen Ding, unconscious. Ji Ning Shuang, thrown back three to five zhang, staggered to her feet and approached unsteadily.

Buzz!

The Hun Dun Shen Ding activated its own protection, isolating her from Ye Chen. It seemed to possess a spirit, as if guarding him and preventing Ji Ning Shuang from being harmed by getting too close.

“What exactly happened?” Ji Ning Shuang’s face was ashen as she shifted her gaze to the sea of clouds a thousand zhang away. The flickering clouds and dreamlike sea felt like an abyss in her eyes, just a glance evoking a sense of her mind being swallowed.

Meanwhile, the Tai Xu Gu Long struggled to lift its dragon head, its eyes already blind and its body’s dragon soul power still dissipating.

“Xuan... Xuan Yuan Sword.” The Tai Xu Gu Long’s expression twisted in agony, staring incredulously at the misty void, its words trembling. “The Emperor Sword Xuan Yuan is actually in... in Da Chu.”

Ah!

Observing all this, Dong Huang Tai Xi in the grand hall of Tian Xuan Gate couldn't help but sigh. “It seems that possessing Liu Dao Xian Lun Yan isn't always a blessing. Seeing things one shouldn’t inevitably demands a price in blood.”

“The Zhu Xian Sword and the Xuan Yuan Sword are both in Da Chu.” Nearby, Fu Ya smacked his lips as he looked at Dong Huang Tai Xin. “Holy Lord, this land—how many great emperor divine weapons are hidden here?”

“Don’t ask what you shouldn’t.” Dong Huang Tai Xin said leisurely. “This matter is beyond our control.”

“Then that sea of clouds is...”

“One of the five forbidden areas of Da Chu: Huan Hai.”
