Upon hearing this, both of them held their foreheads, feeling that no matter what, they couldn't make sense of the Pei Qian Hu in front of them.
"Alright, alright..."Bai Lan Gou nodded. "We won't refute you for now, but you should also say, suppose that person really is Yang Ge, suppose he really knows what you're thinking, then what will you do?"
Di Hu smirked mischievously after hearing this. "If all my speculations turn out to be accurate, that means he'll be working with me from the inside! We can check if he's planted any 'seeds'!"
Di Yang still had an impatient expression on his face, but Di Gou slowly furrowed his brow. He stuck out his long tongue to lick his nose and said,"Explain in detail."
"You see..." Di Hu continued, gesturing with his hand, "Suppose he knows that I know, then he must be trying to shake up the other 'Sheng Xiao'. In that case, we just need to see who gets shaken!"
"How are you going to see that?" Di Yang snorted. "Go along the train and knock on every 'Di Ji' door, asking 'Rebellion, care to learn more'?"
"Get out of here!" Di Hu stood up and said. "Do you think I'm that stupid?"
"Even if you're not that stupid, you're not far off." Di Yang sighed. "Are we really going to bet everyone's lives on your guesses?"
"But that's always been Yang Ge's way!" Di Hu said excitedly. "He once taught us that in this world, nothing is impossible. As long as there's a one percent chance, it's a gamble!"
"But we're not him!!" Di Yang slammed the table and stood up, looking furious. "Yang Ge can take risks that we can't! Yang Ge can win games that we can't! If we were really like him, how could we still be just 'Di Ji' now?!"
"Then at least let's try, damn it!! Can you just talk your way to 'Tian'?"
The two of them looked like they were about to argue, but Bai Lan Gou reached out and patted the table, saying,"Stop arguing for now... I have a way to prove whether Pei Qian Hu's guess is accurate."
"What way?" The other two looked at him.
Bai Lan Gou put on a lazy expression and leaned back in his chair, saying, "Didn't I mention last night? I have some 'like-minded' friends. I've already told them that if anything 'disturbing to the heart' happens recently, they should come knock on Pei Qian Hu's door. Tonight, we can wait and see."
"You're being way too vague, damn it?" Di Hu frowned. "'Disturbing to the heart' and they come knock? Is this a counseling clinic?"
"Then what do you want me to say? Straight out the truth?" Bai Lan Gou crossed his arms behind his head. "Truth be told, I feel even this vague approach might cause problems. My life's already on the line as it is."
"You're just joining in the nonsense..." Di Yang said. "We're going to base our guesses on Yang Ge's plan just by waiting for someone to knock? I think you've all gone mad... really mad..."
"Have we gone mad, or are you still sane?" Bai Lan Gou chuckled coldly. "Do you really think you're a 'Yang'? Have you forgotten you used to be human?"
"What...?"
"You've gotten used to your black fur, but I haven't." Bai Lan Gou picked up a fresh grape from the table and popped it into his mouth. "Sit quietly and wait. If you have the energy, stretch a bit. What we're waiting for might not be 'allies'—it could be 'enemies'."
After hearing this, the two of them let out a sigh and slowly sat back in their chairs.
The situation now seemed stuck. Although they had grand ambitions, they couldn't take the initiative.
Any of the 'Sheng Xiao' here could be enemies.
What Di Yang never expected was that just ten minutes later, there was a knock on Di Hu's door.
The knock sounded very light, as if the person outside was afraid of disturbing those inside.
"No way...?" Di Yang glanced at the other two after hearing the sound. "This is insane..."
"Pei Qian Hu..." Bai Lan Gou called out. "Is your student coming back tonight?"
"Probably not..." Di Hu thought for a moment. "Before we started, I told everyone that I'd be treating the 'Di Ji' to a meal. They should all be back in their own rooms."
"Then open the door." Bai Lan Gou smirked. "Time to reveal the truth."
Di Yang had nothing more to say and just narrowed his eyes, watching the door. Until Di Hu stood up, opened the door, and revealed the figure outside.
It was a Di Shu.
"Hey, are all you leaders here?" Di Shu smiled. "I hope my late-night visit isn't too presumptuous?"
"You...?" Di Hu didn't recognize the Di Shu well and figured he must be one of Bai Lan Gou's friends.
"Corporate Rat." Di Gou introduced him. "One of my 'like-minded' friends."
"You... come in first..." Di Hu sized up the Di Shu in front of him. The other didn't look very imposing, and if it came to rebellion, he probably wouldn't be much help.
Di Shu nodded in thanks, then walked in, glanced around the room, and said, "You leaders sure know how to enjoy yourselves. Staying up late, not eating, not sleeping—just hanging out here courting death."
"How the hell do you talk?" Di Hu asked.
"Hey, leader, don't get too angry. After all, you're a Hu, and I'm a Shu." Di Shu waved his hand.
"You know that, right."
"In the twelve Sheng Xiao, I'm first, you're third." Di Shu laughed. "How dare you get angry with me?"
"You bastard!" Di Hu stepped forward and grabbed Di Shu's collar. These few words had him fuming. "Don't you know whose room this is? Are you tired of living?"
"Pei Qian Hu." Di Gou called out. "We've finally got a teammate—don't scare him off."
"What kind of teammate is this?" Di Hu glared at Di Gou. "What gives him the right to talk back to me like that?"
"Based on his 'wisdom'." Bai Lan Gou said. "The games he designs are incredibly clever. No one's found the real solution in years, and that's enough to earn him a seat here."
"You..." Di Hu still felt unsatisfied, but now was a time to gather people, and this one could very well be a 'seed' planted by Yang Ge.
"Let go, leader. Thank you." Di Shu nodded at Di Hu, then without another word, broke free and sat down at the table.
The atmosphere among them fell silent for a moment. After a while, Di Yang spoke up.
"So, why exactly did you come to this room...?"
"Do I really need to ask?" Di Shu laughed. "You leaders, today I met a very interesting participant."
