Chapter 3119: Saving the Day

Roar! Roar!

Kang Hun's dragon roars shook the universe. Eight colossal golden dragons, each spanning tens of thousands of feet, swirled around Ye Chen.

Wu Tian Xue Zun's expression changed drastically. He had witnessed the power of these golden dragons before; their might was formidable, but he was still mostly filled with disbelief. After all, Ye Chen was currently sealed, not only restrained himself but also bound by the numerous seals he had imposed. Yet, under such circumstances, Ye Chen could still unleash such a dominant divine ability, far exceeding his expectations.

Even Wu Tian Xue Zun was shaken, let alone the other supreme beings. Those with weaker foundations, like Gui Sha Mo Jun, felt their souls tremble. Before even being struck, they felt their divine bodies on the verge of being crushed by destructive forces.

Pfft! Pfft!

The ensuing scene was exceptionally bloody. All the supreme beings surrounding Ye Chen, including Wu Tian Xue Zun, were struck without exception. They were sent flying chaotically by the dragons' tails. Except for Wu Tian Xue Zun, almost all of their physical bodies were destroyed. For Gui Sha Mo Jun, it was the second time his divine body had exploded, scattering blood and bones across the cosmos.

"Done beautifully."

In the small world, even the usually silent Shen Yun Suan Yuan couldn't help but cheer. The little old man and Chi Yan Xiong Shi leaped three feet high in excitement, while restless ones like Hun Dun Ding chattered noisily.

"Break."

Ye Chen snorted coldly, snapping the rune chains that bound him and, in the process, shattering all the seals Wu Tian Xue Zun had etched into his body.

In an instant, he lifted his small foot and stepped across the void, covering eight million li in one stride. But that was it—that single moment. When he tried to move again, his secret technique failed, and he nearly stumbled and fell from the starry sky.

"You won't escape."

From behind, Wu Tian Xue Zun roared in fury. Flipped by the dragon's tail, his hair was disheveled, and though his body wasn't destroyed, it was covered in bloody wounds and bones. With his grotesque face, he looked like a fiend from hell. Having been thrown twice, his rage had reached a boiling point.

His sword strike was overwhelmingly powerful, ignoring the distances of the void and carrying destructive might as it surged across eight million li.

Pfft!

Ye Chen was wounded, taking the full force of the sword and sent tumbling through the air. If not for his incredible resilience, he might have been split in two.

Boom! Bang! Boom!

The starry sky erupted into chaos. Ye Chen, hurtling through space, collided with countless ancient stars and crushed numerous celestial bodies along the way.

"Who is he?"

Onlookers at the periphery craned their necks to watch, collectively tilting their heads as their eyes darted back and forth. They saw Ye Chen fly overhead—a tiny toddler, one or two years old. They had only heard the rumbling of the battle before, but now, someone had finally emerged.

"You can't judge by appearances."

Many sighed in amazement, filled with surprise and astonishment. This plump, rosy-cheeked little one was actually a supreme being, and no one had ever seen or heard of him before. Where on earth had he come from?

Boom!

Wu Tian Xue Zun arrived like a god descending, his divine body as heavy as a mountain. As his foot landed, the starry sky collapsed, and waves of silent extinction spread out. Groups of people were flung away, and entire swaths were obliterated, adding more blood to the vast cosmos.

"Wu Tian Xue Zun?"

In mid-flight, countless people paled in recognition, aware of his terror. Legends said he had already ascended to the divine realm, yet here he was back in the immortal realm—a genuine demon god whose hands had claimed countless supreme beings.

"Extinguish."

Wu Tian Xue Zun snorted coldly, his voice desolate. With a wave of his hand, he unleashed another sword strike, locking onto Ye Chen. It was a strike of absolute destruction, unlikely to kill him but certain to severely wound him.

"Stop for me."

Ye Chen's shout was resolute as he suddenly halted in place, clenching his small fist to meet Wu Tian Xue Zun's sword head-on.

But before he could strike, a galaxy suddenly materialized, hanging inverted in the starry sky. From within it, a crystalline jade hand emerged, reaching across the vast void to shatter Wu Tian Xue Zun's sword aura. In the same instant, the jade hand itself disintegrated into dust.

Boom!

The clash created waves of destruction, disrupting yin and yang, overturning the cosmos, rendering laws illusory, and fracturing the starry sky with countless cracks. The engulfing force dragged Ye Chen, who had just steadied himself, straight into a rift, where he vanished in an instant.

"Dammit."

Wu Tian Xue Zun bellowed, extending a massive hand to pull Ye Chen from the crack.

Unfortunately, Ye Chen's trace was gone. The rift was no ordinary one, intertwined with various laws, and even Wu Tian Xue Zun couldn't tell where it had taken him.

Failing to seize Ye Chen, he fixed his blood-red eyes on the galaxy. If not for someone blocking his sword for Ye Chen, how could he have escaped?

As he watched, the galaxy dissipated inch by inch. The person hidden within had come to rescue and was now leaving since Ye Chen had been swept away.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Wu Tian Xue Zun howled, swinging his sword for the third time, slashing toward the fading galaxy.

Clang!

A metallic clash rang out, as if his devastating sword had struck a shield.

Pfft!

Then came the sound of vomiting blood from the galaxy—it was the person inside, who had blocked Wu Tian Xue Zun's strike but suffered grievous injury in return.

In an instant, the galaxy vanished.

"Moon God."

Wu Tian Xue Zun snarled coldly, as if he already knew who it was—an old acquaintance and sworn enemy.

Only then did the starry sky fall into silence.

Soon after, supreme beings like Gui Sha Mo Jun arrived from afar, but alas, they were too late.

Wu Tian Xue Zun's face was savagely twisted. He opened his third eye on his forehead, scanning the cosmos inch by inch, and even employed divination seals to track Ye Chen's whereabouts.

However, his cultivation was insufficient; he couldn't even glimpse Ye Chen's shadow, as if he had vanished from the world entirely.

"Search! Find him for me."

Wu Tian Xue Zun roared, his voice like ancient thunder shaking the immortal vault. A duck that was already cooked had flown away—how could he not be furious? The successive twists had turned his supreme dignity into the most ridiculous joke.

He was enraged, and so were the other supreme beings.

Especially Gui Sha Mo Jun, who was on the verge of exploding. They had an absolute advantage in numbers, hunting a sealed little thing, yet he had managed to escape.

When Ye Chen reappeared, he was in a bizarre and surreal world. Streams of light flickered in and out of visibility, and temporal forces twisted and shifted between distortion and emptiness. There was no concept of time or space; immense, formless powers surged like mighty rivers, tossing him about relentlessly.

"Chaotic temporal currents."

Ye Chen steadied himself and surveyed his surroundings, confirming it was the chaotic temporal currents. He had entered something similar in Da Chu before, but this was clearly more terrifying—otherwise, Wu Tian Xue Zun couldn't have lost track of him.

"Is this the chaotic temporal currents?"

In the small world, Chi Yan Xiong Shi exclaimed in shock. He had only heard elders speak of it and was experiencing it for the first time. Even Shen Yun Suan Yuan and the little old man gazed around with wide-eyed curiosity. The chaotic temporal currents were no safe haven; once lost in them, escape was impossible.

But that applied to ordinary people. For someone like Ye Chen, they posed no real threat.

"Anyway, we've escaped with our lives."

The little old man remarked as he plopped down, pulling out his wine gourd for a hearty swig to calm his nerves. Thinking back, it still sent shivers down his spine. That encirclement had brought them right to the gates of death.

"Anyone else would have died hundreds of times over."

Shen Yun Suan Yuan sighed, glancing at Ye Chen.

That one was a true god! Sealed, suppressed, and restrained, he could still counterattack from desperation. So many supreme beings, including Wu Tian Xue Zun, with such a lineup, and still they couldn't kill him.

"Just a minor scene."

Hun Dun Ding said meaningfully.

It was true. In the vast universe, Ye Chen had faced even more hopeless situations and survived them all. He wouldn't fall here.

Ye Chen said nothing, striding through the currents as he observed. It was indeed different from the universe's versions—more ethereal, more vast, and extremely perilous.

As for this battle, it was all thanks to his destiny. At the critical moment, it had unlocked the Shen Zang Eight Heavenly Dragons, and someone had secretly aided him. That must have been a supreme being who could shatter Wu Tian Xue Zun's sword with a single palm—likely at the peak of the Heavenly Emperor level. It could be a friend of Zhao Yun or Kuang Ying Jie. Either way, he had made it out.

"Find the heavenly characters."

Ye Chen clenched his fist, his face darkened with fury. If not for the locks and seals on his body, how could he have been so humiliated, beaten down by a group of underlings and nearly killed? It was infuriating.

"Boss, that guy has heavenly characters."

Hun Dun Huo flickered, referring to Wu Tian Xue Zun with those words.

"They'll all be mine."

Ye Chen said coldly. The grudge was set; he had to turn the tables. Finding more Dun Jia heavenly characters to lift his seals would let him settle the score.

With that, he concealed his aura using Zhou Tian and transformed his sword with the same principle, creating a rift and darting out in a flash.

When he reappeared, it was no longer in the starry sky—a fact he had anticipated, as the chaotic temporal currents didn't guarantee an exit to the original location.

Below was a vast continent shrouded in a purple haze.

Ye Chen's gaze sharpened, piercing through to trace the continent's origins—it seemed to have formed in ancient times from the explosion of a star.

"Cang Yu Jie."

Zi Xin murmured suddenly, tears welling in her eyes. Without needing to ask, she knew this was her homeland. It had been several hundred years since her clan was wiped out and she was abducted by Xue Yang. Seeing her home brought back tragic memories. Every recollection left her in tears, filled with grief, pain, and an unprecedented loneliness. Her family was gone, leaving only her, and looking around, she saw no kin or friends.

"Don't be afraid, you've got me."

Chi Yan Xiong Shi said thoughtfully, standing beside her with his sturdy form as support. The two of them shared a similar plight.

"I know where there's a heavenly character."

Zi Xin bowed her head, her voice choked, like a child who had made a mistake. Her delicate body trembled, whether from sorrow or fear, it was unclear.

Ye Chen remained silent, only turning his head slightly. The look in his eyes toward Zi Xin was unusually calm, but to her, it felt like the gaze of death.

"Sis, you can't play it like that."

Chi Yan Xiong Shi coughed awkwardly, scratching his mane. Even with his simple mind, he could see the implication in Ye Chen's eyes. Zi Xin had been hiding things, trying to outmaneuver her master. Didn't she realize that her secrecy had nearly gotten them all killed at death's door? If they'd gotten the heavenly character earlier, things wouldn't have been so dire.

Zi Xin sobbed, dropping to her knees with a thud, prostrating herself on the ground like an ant. She was truly humble and terrified, her face deathly pale and her body shaking uncontrollably. She feared Ye Chen would abandon her. That's why she had concealed the heavenly character, seeing it as leverage to save her life or perhaps bargain with him at a crucial moment. But she never expected the events to escalate so quickly, nearly costing her master's life.

"Get up."

Ye Chen said flatly. He was angry, no doubt about it. He had underestimated this girl—her scheming ran deep, even deceiving a quasi Huang Di like him. He didn't know whether to call her foolish or obtuse. Did she really think she could hide secrets from a supreme being once he decided to search her soul?

Anger aside, he wouldn't punish her. It was just that her life had been too tragic, forcing her to scheme just to survive like a wretched dog.

He understood that mindset all too well. Before becoming a cultivator, he had lived a miserable life. His childhood memories were dark and lightless, more abject than a dog's, with every thought centered on mere survival.

That was why he got it.

And because he understood, he wouldn't blame Zi Xin.
