Chapter 2617: Leaving the Mountains

Chapter 2617: Chu Shan

The sound of urine splashing was very crisp.

"What's the matter?"

Xuan Di's shadow cursed loudly and slipped out from the rock wall again. His old face was as dark as night, muttering, "Coming back time and again to urinate—do you think this is a latrine?"

Compared to him, Ye Chen's face was even darker. "You despicable person, how dare you trick me."

"Stop making a fuss. When did I trick you?"

"The Xian Pao has a time limit—why didn't you say so earlier?"

"Didn't I say it?"

"I..."

Ye Chen staggered back a step, choking on his breath and nearly passing out.

"Perhaps I didn't explain it clearly." Xuan Di's shadow stroked his beard, his expression full of meaning.

Ye Chen said nothing, his face now covered in dark lines like charred coal. If you didn't explain it clearly, that means you didn't say it at all—it's obvious you're trying to trick me.

"Don't worry about those details."

Xuan Di's shadow patted Ye Chen on the shoulder with a chuckle. It was unclear if it was intentional or because Ye Da Shao was too badly injured, but the pat made Ye Chen stumble, and he sprayed out a mouthful of fresh blood.

Ye Chen suppressed his anger and reached out his hand again.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Xuan Di's shadow raised an eyebrow.

"Keep pretending." Ye Chen cursed outright, "Give me another piece of that Bi Shi Xian Pao."

"None left." Xuan Di's shadow shrugged.

Ye Da Shao took a deep breath and stepped back, sitting heavily on a rock. The mouthful of blood he had been holding back finally came out. Looking at Xuan Di's shadow's sincere eyes, he knew it wasn't a lie.

If it wasn't a lie, then this was a real headache.

Without the Bi Shi Xian Pao, he wouldn't dare step out the door. Those hundreds of thousands of Quasi Emperors could drown him with a single spit each.

"For now, focus on healing. Once you're done, I'll send you out." Xuan Di's shadow patted Ye Chen again, causing him to cough up a few more mouthfuls of blood.

"Now that's more like it." Ye Chen glanced over and immediately sat cross-legged, stuffing healing Dan Yao into his mouth and restoring his injuries as much as possible.

Without the Bi Shi Xian Pao, he clearly couldn't stay in Buzhou Shan any longer. More importantly, he was worried about whether Shura Tian Zun and the others were safe.

As he closed his eyes, the mountain crevice fell silent.

Here it was peaceful, but outside, things were quite lively. Looking down from the sky, crowds of people were scattering like streams toward the sea, heading in all directions to search for Ye Chen. Their faces didn't look good, especially the Xian Zun, who had let a great opportunity slip away again.

It wasn't until late at night that Ye Chen woke up.

By then, Xuan Di's shadow had already set up a Fa Zhen. This array could teleport Ye Chen out—he couldn't let this guy stay in Buzhou Shan any longer.

Ye Chen put away his iron stick and stepped into it.

"The world has no feast that doesn't end. I hope we meet again in the future, and we each stay well." Tonight, Xuan Di's shadow seemed a bit melancholic, mainly because in the realm of shamelessness, he and Ye Chen truly empathized.

"In the future, I'll come back to see you." Ye Chen's acting was top-notch, and he really wanted to give Xuan Di's shadow a special hug.

"Eh? Why is that woman not wearing clothes?"

"Eh? Why is that woman not wearing clothes?"

Ah!

Ptooey.

This simple exchange—one from the Di Zun's reincarnation body and one from Xuan Di's shadow—showed perfect synchronization, as they both uttered the same words in unison.

Unfortunately, neither fooled the other.

After that, Xuan Di's shadow sent Ye Chen off with a wolf howl, full of domineering flair.

As for Ye Chen, he wasn't idle either. He spat out a mouthful of phlegm with perfect aim, landing it right in Xuan Di's shadow's mouth.

This was the shadow of an emperor; this was the reincarnation of an emperor. In a certain realm, they really did empathize. Even their farewell was unlike others—one with a wolf howl, the other with a spit.

In the end, it proved Ye Chen was more skilled, nailing the position and timing perfectly. Did you think I wouldn't understand your scheming? Trying to scare me off at the last minute—I'll gross you out instead.

The array activated, and Ye Chen vanished in an instant.

As for Xuan Di's shadow, things weren't so harmonious. He leaned against the rock wall with one hand and clutched his chest with the other, vomiting profusely. He had only meant to tease Ye Chen for fun, but accidentally got counterattacked. That spit was truly disgusting.

It was a good thing Dao Zu was still in self-seal; if he had seen that scene, he would have given the two a thumbs-up as an emperor. Just as I thought! Putting you two in the Di Dao F4 would be absolutely deserved.

At the edge of the sky outside the mountain, in a remote and desolate spot, Ye Chen revealed his true form.

You could see a big "satisfied" written on his face. This vengeful guy had been tricked once, so he had to get his payback.

After quickly figuring out the direction, Ye Chen donned a black robe and stepped onto a mountain peak, straining his eyes to look toward Buzhou Shan.

That stretch of sky was shrouded in dark mist, with vague glimpses of Tian Ting's war flags fluttering wildly in the wind. Millions of heavenly soldiers and generals were waiting for him to come out.

He had come out, but not through the exit. It was a pity Tian Ting didn't know; they were still blocking the entrance of Buzhou Shan, a massive black crowd.

"Wait, keep waiting." Ye Chen sneered and turned to disappear, heading straight for the wilderness. He had been out for so long and didn't know if the Tian Zun and the others were still there.

Boom! Bang! Boom!

Behind him, Buzhou Shan still echoed with booming sounds.

Although Ye Chen had left, the Tian Ting experts were still diligently searching. The forbidden ground was dark and full of deep pits, and there were always those with poor judgment who accidentally stepped in, stirring up plenty of evil spirits.

Besides that, it was the Kun Kun of Buzhou Shan.

With so many people entering, the Kun Kun was changing, giving birth to some mysterious power. The distant rumbles sounded like funeral bells, making people's hearts tremble.

In the void outside the mountain, Hao Miao Xian Zun's face grew even darker. It was because the Kun Kun was changing too quickly, making it incredibly difficult to carve out a path.

The one with an even worse face was Yin Ming. His blood-red eyes reflected the dim starlight, looking extremely sinister as he gritted his teeth.

Ye Chen crossed a mountain forest, passed over a vast plain, and moved as swiftly as a shooting star.

There were booms toward Buzhou Shan, and booms in the outside world too. Along the way, Ye Chen saw far too many heavenly soldiers and generals marching with great momentum, all heading for Buzhou Shan. No need to guess—they were the ones Yin Ming had summoned.

The ruler of Tian Ting was seriously furious. To catch him, they were mobilizing troops without limit, even pulling in border guards, sparing no expense. They wouldn't stop until he was dead.

It wasn't until some time later that Ye Chen stopped.

From afar, he saw a ruins, and his face turned ugly. The wilderness he had left behind was gone; that vast expanse of land no longer had a single intact tree. Most had turned to charred wood, billowing with smoke and shrouded in a bloody red mist.

At a glance, it was clear a great battle had occurred.

Without thinking much, Ye Chen hurriedly formed seals and performed Zhou Tian Evolution, using divine positions to deduce other divine positions. Hao Miao Xian Zun could do it, and so could he.

After three to five breaths, he withdrew his divine ability, opened an Di Dao domain gate, and headed straight for Yin He Yi Xian Tian. He had already calculated the location of Yue Xin and the others.

However, when he arrived at Yin He, he didn't see anyone, only a few Shen Pai floating in the river, flickering with a dim Xian Guang.

Ye Chen frowned. Seeing the Shen Pai but not the people wasn't good news. He wasn't sure if they were still alive or where they were now.

As he thought, he cast a net into the sky, fished up the Shen Pai, and casually stored them in his inner small world, his eyes flashing with uncertainty.

"Have you seen Ye Chen?"

Perhaps lost in thought, Ye Chen didn't notice someone landing behind him. Hearing the voice, he snapped back and turned around, spotting an old acquaintance who had attended the morning court with him and even asked him to refine Dan Yao before.

Taking a closer look, it was indeed Guang Jiao Da Xian. Who knew if he was poor or just wanted to stay grounded, but he was still barefoot, holding a fan and fanning himself as he walked.

Behind Guang Jiao Da Xian were two oddly shaped people—one with unusually large eyes and one with extraordinarily long ears—Qian Li Yan and Shun Feng Er.

Ye Chen raised an eyebrow, glancing at Guang Jiao Da Xian, then at Qian Li Yan and Shun Feng Er. The three of them were yawning, probably just woken up or hadn't slept well last night, looking utterly listless.

They were definitely a talented trio. With all the commotion at Buzhou Shan, how could they not know? Yet here they were, wandering around and earnestly searching.

"Have you seen Ye Chen?"

Seeing Ye Chen remain silent, Guang Jiao Da Xian asked again, his eyes on Ye Chen seeming a bit strange. It was because the aura on Ye Chen was too obscure, and he couldn't see through his true appearance.

Ye Chen didn't speak and directly grabbed his stick.

"You..."

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Ye Chen knocked each of them with a stick, sending the three into dreamland. He then waved his hand to seal them into a Bao Ta, and only after that did he change his appearance to look like Guang Jiao Da Xian. It was safer to use someone else's identity.

Once done, he left Yin He, constantly calculating with his fingers along the way. Unfortunately, he couldn't deduce Shura Tian Zun's location; he only knew they were still alive, as the Shen Pai hadn't shattered—that was proof enough.

As he walked, he couldn't help but look up toward Buzhou Shan. With Yin Ming making such a big fuss, the Tian Zun must know about it. They were probably at Buzhou Shan too, maybe even mixed in with the heavenly soldiers and generals.

Confirming his guess, he summoned another domain gate.

Returning to Buzhou Shan, it was a sea of people, completely blocking the entrance with forces numbering in the millions or more.

Ye Chen sighed and squeezed his way in through the crowd, his divine sense already spread out.

As he searched, his eyes lit up. Shura Tian Zun was indeed here, disguised as a heavenly soldier, holding a Zhan Ge and standing straight.

"You're quite bold!" Ye Chen stopped beside Tian Zun and smiled, transmitting his voice.

Shura Tian Zun was startled at first, but after a careful look, he recognized Ye Chen and couldn't help but laugh. "Not bad at all! With so many soldiers blocking the way, how did you pop up?"

"It's a long story." Ye Chen laughed and glanced to one side, his gaze fixing on a massive jade carriage where Yin Ming stood, his face fiercely menacing.

"Do you have a way to kill him for good?" Tian Zun asked with a smile.

"There are strong experts protecting him in secret; I can't get close." Ye Chen shook his head helplessly. After one lesson, Yin Ming had wised up, with over a hundred Xian Zun hidden nearby. Even if he could kill him, he'd be surrounded by the heavenly soldiers and generals. The setup was too grand this time.

"Let's go." Ye Chen suddenly turned and left. Since he couldn't kill him, there was no point staying—this could get ugly if he was discovered.

Tian Zun said nothing and followed along.
