Chapter 2592: Borrowing Laws on the Battlefield

Watching the four great Xianzun on the Treading Immortal Road, the spectators murmured among themselves, their hearts pounding. Too many people still didn't want Ye Chen to die, as this little stone spirit was genuinely likable, especially to those who had asked him to refine pills for them.

As for others, like Ziyang Xianjun and his group, their faces twisted into savage expressions, as if they could already see Ye Chen's gruesome demise, which excited them to no end.

"Forcing me to go all out!"

Niu Mo Wang hefted his battle axe, and the other great demons and devils did the same, pulling out their weapons with wild eyes, ready at any moment to charge in and rescue him.

The heavens and earth fell into an eerie silence, with everyone fixated on that direction.

Ye Chen staggered forward, using his iron staff for support, barely able to stand. His expression remained calm and detached, ignoring the four great Xianzun.

As people said, this was a dead end. In his current state, he didn't even need all four—one alone could destroy him.

As they watched, the Did Dao Heilang slowly dissipated, the black hole vanishing entirely. He could no longer sustain this imperial Dao immortal technique, hindered by both hidden resistances and his own limitations. The mana it consumed was far greater than in the various heavens.

Seeing the Di Dao Heilang fade, the four great Xianzun halted their unhurried advance, each taking a position at the southeast, northwest, and other directions, sealing off the four corners of the universe. Ye Chen had no escape, even with wings.

Behind them came hundreds of thousands of heavenly soldiers and generals, surging from all sides with a thick aura of killing intent.

From high above, in the midst of that vast ocean-like army, Ye Chen's swaying figure looked like a single grain in a vast warehouse—isolated and frail, completely surrounded with no way out.

Ah!

Siming and the other two sighed, steeling themselves for death.

Yingjie Tianqing had also accepted it—death was just death.

Yue Xin drew her immortal sword and donned her battle armor.

As for Niu Mo Wang and Xiuluo Tianzun, in their resolute gazes, a flicker of guilt flashed through. Ye Chen wouldn't be in this predicament if he hadn't saved them.

"Ye Chen, you've lost."

Yin Ming's mocking laughter echoed, playful and taunting, ethereal yet authoritative.

Ye Chen said nothing, staggering another step before finally steadying himself. He madly blood-sacrificed his true essence, exchanging it for surging mana.

Perhaps he had truly lost.

But losing didn't mean surrendering.

As the tenth emperor of Da Chu, what grand scenes hadn't he witnessed?

To put it bluntly, except for getting beaten by his wife, he had never backed down. There was no reason to surrender without a fight.

Even if he was defeated this time, he had to drag some down with him. Without carving out a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, how could he live up to the title of emperor? In this foreign land, he couldn't afford to disgrace Da Chu.

"Capture him alive."

Yin Ming chuckled and waved his hand casually.

At his command, the heavenly soldiers and generals from all sides surged forward like a tidal wave, charging at Ye Chen.

"Damn it!"

Niu Mo Wang roared, swinging his axe to unleash an immortal river. The other great demons and devils rushed in as well, weapons in hand, their demonic energy raging and fiendish aura rampant. Many transformed into their true forms, towering like mountains.

"Lower realm vermin, how dare you act recklessly?"

Cold snorts erupted one after another, and from the hidden void, more Xianzun manifested, wiping out Niu Mo Wang's immortal river with a single palm.

"Kill them all, leave none alive."

The Xianzun's orders were ice-cold and merciless. The hidden experts of the Heavenly Court appeared one by one, blocking Niu Mo Wang and his group. They unleashed imperial Dao immortal techniques on the spot, shattering the heavens and earth, collapsing countless mountains.

Yin Ming laughed mockingly, glancing casually in that direction.

He had known that San Xian Jie experts were hiding nearby, but they weren't worth his attention. He had planned to capture Ye Chen first and deal with them one by one, but unexpectedly, they were all eager to rush to their deaths.

Compared to them, he was more interested in Ye Chen.

Ye Chen looked at Niu Mo Wang and the others, feeling a warm surge in his heart. They had no life-or-death bond with him, yet they were fighting to save him.

"Still not surrendering?"

Daomie Xianzun snorted coldly, striding forward and shattering the skies, pressing a palm down on Ye Chen. His palm was inscribed with sealing power, intending to bind Ye Chen. The Heavenly Court's ruler had ordered him captured alive.

"I'll handle this."

Xiuluo Tianzun shouted, bursting out of his pagoda with a punch that pierced through the universe.

But no matter how powerful his punch was, it couldn't match Daomie Xianzun's palm. He had just charged in when he was sent plummeting from the skies the next instant, his fist bones exploding and blood and bones scattering. Not at full strength, he was no match for Daomie Xianzun.

"Son of a bitch."

Xiuluo Tianzun growled angrily, a true fighter who refused to give up, ready to charge back for an eight-hundred-round battle with Daomie Xianzun.

However, Ye Chen was faster. He grabbed him with one hand and pulled him back into the pagoda, along with Niu Mo Wang and the others who wanted to join the fight, stuffing them all inside.

Their combat power wasn't enough—they'd just be throwing their lives away if they came out.

Yin Ming had ordered Ye Chen captured alive, so no one would kill him in the short term. But it was different for Siming and the others—no one would care if they died. Rushing out foolishly would get them all wiped out.

"A mere quasi-emperor, still putting up a fight?"

"Screw you."

Ye Chen cursed loudly and turned to flee.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Xumie Xianzun snorted coldly, pointing a sealing finger straight at Ye Chen's brow.

Ye Chen instantly used Did Dao Miaomiao to evade the seal.

Jimie Xianzun was surprised. This heavily injured little stone spirit was full of surprises, with a profound understanding of the Dao. This illusory immortal technique was like seizing heaven's fortune. After taking his sword strike earlier, Ye Chen was still full of vigor.

"Seal him quickly."

Tianmie Xianzun said calmly, and Daomie Xianzun moved to block Ye Chen from front and back in the void, using only sealing immortal techniques since they couldn't kill him.

But Ye Chen wasn't holding back. His strikes grew fiercer with each one, madly burning his essence and boosting his mana. Wave after wave of imperial Dao immortal techniques flew out as he tried to escape.

"What a freak."

The four great Xianzun grew more shocked the longer they fought. Ye Chen's willpower and combat resolve far exceeded their expectations. Even with all four of them teaming up, they hadn't taken him down yet.

Such a monster was a first for them.

Though they hadn't gone all out or used lethal force, this gravely wounded little stone spirit was extraordinarily tenacious.

"Must be because he swallowed the Did Dao Shendan?"

They thought to themselves, grasping at this flimsy excuse to explain their doubts. It was self-deception, really. A mere quasi-emperor at the first level couldn't possibly be this strong. If he reached his full potential one day, the consequences would be unthinkable.

Boom! Bang! Boom!

The battle erupted, shaking the heavens and earth.

With the four great Xianzun personally making the capture, the heavenly soldiers and generals couldn't even get involved, surrounding the area instead.

Two battlefields raged fiercely.

It was clear that Ye Chen's side was at a complete disadvantage. Though Niu Mo Wang and the great demons and devils fought valiantly, they were no match for the Heavenly Court's numbers. Each of them was covered in wounds, blood spraying through the air. Forget saving Ye Chen—they could barely save themselves.

"The four great Xianzun joining forces just to catch one little quasi-emperor? Tsk, tsk."

"Even if he's caught, it's no disgrace."

"Are the San Xian Jie people insane? Challenging the Heavenly Court's full might to save someone?"

"They must have water in their brains."

Discussions broke out, with people crossing their arms and clicking their tongues in amazement, perfectly playing the role of spectators.

"Damn it, fight me one-on-one if you've got the guts."

Niu Mo Wang's curses rang out loud and clear. Besides Ye Chen, he was the one getting beaten the worst. He wasn't afraid of one-on-one fights, but group beatings were another story.

The other great demons and devils weren't faring much better. They fought fiercely and cursed just as viciously.

In response, the Heavenly Court's experts showed no mercy, following orders to leave no one alive, striking with deadly force.

Pfft!

Accompanied by a flash of blood, Ye Chen plummeted from the void, smashing a deep crater into the ground.

The four great Xianzun were too strong, blocking every path. Despite exhausting all his tricks, he couldn't escape, left with barely half his life.

Now, he finally quieted down.

He had no choice—with not even the strength to stand, he coughed up mouthfuls of fresh blood, reduced to a bloody mess.

Seal!

Daomie Xianjun raised his hand and pressed down from the heavens.

But before the palm seal could land, a burst of immortal light suddenly erupted from Ye Chen, infused with a mysterious power.

"Oh? Even with the shield, he can still borrow a technique?"

Siming Xingjun exclaimed in surprise, his expression full of astonishment and vivid emotion.

It wasn't just him—Ye Chen was stunned too.

Ever since he became a Dan Ling, his ability to borrow techniques had been blocked. In this situation, for Ren Wang to still connect was completely beyond his expectations.

"When did the Tian Jie's barrier dissipate?"

"Who knows."

"That doesn't matter."

Ye Chen laughed, his dim eyes sparkling with brilliant light.

Heaven always leaves a way out—a single borrowed technique had broken this dead end.

Back in his homeland, he could do so much, like healing himself or bringing back treasures, even Ji Dao Di Bing.

Whoosh!

Under everyone's watchful eyes, Ye Chen vanished in an instant.

Retreat!

Jiaolong Wang roared, the first to turn and flee. It wasn't cowardice—it was realism; they were outmatched. If they kept fighting, the whole group would be wiped out.

Compared to the Heavenly Court's hundreds of thousands of troops, they were like tiny streams against an ocean.

Pursue!

The Heavenly Court experts snorted coldly, surging forward en masse, their momentum shaking the universe. Did they think the Heavenly Court was a place you could come and go as you pleased?

As the rumbling faded into the distance, the world fell silent once more.

The four great Xianzun furrowed their brows slightly. They could tell it was a borrowed technique, but they hadn't anticipated this twist.

"How interesting."

Yin Ming laughed again, his lips curving into a smirk.

"Awkward, isn't it?"

The spectators coughed awkwardly, as did the heavenly soldiers and generals, caught off guard by a single borrowed technique.

"Wait."

Though Ye Chen had vanished, no one in that stretch of heaven left.

Since it was a borrowed technique, he would return eventually, right back to the same spot. They just had to wait—it was only a matter of time.

And so, Yin Ming settled back into his dragon chair, the four great Xianzun melted back into the void, the heavenly soldiers and generals reformed their ranks, and the spectators crossed their arms, all waiting for Ye Chen's return.

To say Ye Chen had face was an understatement.

To capture him, they'd mounted such a massive operation.

To wait for him, they'd assembled this grand spectacle. Even someone as powerful as Xiuluo Tianzun had never received such treatment in the past.

The most twisted face belonged to Dan Shen, grinding his teeth as he stared at the spot where Ye Chen had disappeared.

That should have been his prize, but now everything had gone wrong. After thousands of years of hard work, it had come to this—Ye Chen had taken what was his, and Yin Ming would likely benefit too. If Ye Chen was caught by Yin Ming, there'd be nothing left for him.

Demand it? Would Yin Ming hand it over?

Snatch it? Did he dare?
