The vast starry sky stretched endlessly, profound and boundless, with occasional streams of cosmic sand drifting through.
Ye Chen wore a mask, striding through the void with a toothpick in his mouth, his vital energy surging, full of vigor and enthusiasm.
In the furnace, flames roared fiercely, and the iron pot overflowed with the aroma of cooking meat.
It was another stew, made from a Honghuang Lei Lang that they had encountered earlier. It had been arrogant and aggressive, trying to devour Ye Chen, but ended up being slain by him.
What a fine specimen from a Honghuang great clan, now reduced to a meal in the pot.
Kui Niu and Li Changsheng stood by the iron pot, constantly adding seasonings. Not to boast, but their cooking skills had reached master level.
Li Changsheng chuckled, "I told you! Hanging out with the Ancient Holy Body means we get soup to drink. At least we never worry about meals."
Kui Niu stroked his chin, "When can we catch a Honghuang Qilin? That would taste amazing."
Ye Chen paused in the outside void, tilting his head to gaze into the distance, his eyes wide with astonishment.
Hearing his words, Kui Niu and Li Changsheng hurried over.
Following Ye Chen's gaze, they saw it was a star, devoid of any glowing halo, but enormous beyond belief.
The reason for Ye Chen's surprised expression was that this star was the largest he had encountered on his journey, bar none.
Kui Niu said, "Wang Xuan Star."
Ye Chen asked curiously, "Wang Xuan Star, what's its background?"
Kui Niu explained, "It's the largest star in the heavens. The name Wang Xuan means that from this star, one can see Xuan Huang, but only those with great divine abilities can achieve it."
Li Changsheng added, "I've heard of it too. Legend has it that a major sect once resided here, but for some unknown reason, that sect vanished overnight, and the star became utterly desolate."
Ye Chen stroked his chin, intrigued, and headed toward Wang Xuan Star. As the largest star, it was worth checking out.
Kui Niu grumbled, "This is a dead star, devoid of any life. Why go there? Are you just bored?"
Ye Chen smiled faintly, "The star may be dead, but whether it's truly empty of people is another matter."
Kui Niu raised an eyebrow, exchanging a glance with Li Changsheng. He knew Ye Chen well—there must be a Honghuang great clan involved.
Ye Chen had already set foot on Wang Xuan Star, surveying his surroundings. The entire star was covered in massive mountains, each taller than the last, all barren and devoid of vegetation, shrouded in a heavy aura of death, with not a blade of grass in sight.
Yet, Wang Xuan Star indeed had inhabitants, and quite a number of them. Even from a distance, he could detect the thick Honghuang aura.
Ye Chen concealed himself in the void space and followed the trail.
After some time, he stopped and gazed quietly into the distance. There was a range of mountains, vast and stretching endlessly.
Figures moved continuously above the mountains, flying back and forth, with more shadows in the valleys, as if searching for something.
Ye Chen asked, "Boss, do you recognize what race they are?"
Kui Niu glanced once and replied confidently, "Qiu Yu."
Li Changsheng shook his head, "Qiu Yu? Never heard of them."
Kui Niu described, "One of the Honghuang great clans. They're not the strongest in combat, but they're the most insidious. They love digging up ancestral graves and stealing yin underworld energy."
Ye Chen twisted his neck fiercely, "The ancient scrolls from Ji Chen didn't mark this race. This calls for a strike."
Kui Niu cursed, "Strike, absolutely. This clan is insidious and brutal. They once stirred up massive chaos in the myriad domains. During the Tian Mo Domain invasion, they didn't lift a finger to help. And besides, your Da Chu's Liu Yi was crippled by their crown prince."
Ye Chen's eyes flashed with cold light, "I'll make sure they regret it."
Li Changsheng scratched his head, "What I wonder is, what are the Qiu Yu doing on this dead star? Could there be treasures here?"
Ye Chen closed his eyes briefly, then suddenly opened them wide, his pupils swirling with the power of reincarnation.
With the Reincarnation Eye activated, the star appeared entirely different, revealing things invisible to the ordinary eye, shrouded in mystery.
After scanning around, he focused on that mountain range, peering through the mountains to the depths below. There was an entirely different world underground.
It was a bottomless pit, leading to an ancient underground palace. The palace was dim, housing an old altar.
Kui Niu and Li Changsheng asked, "What did you see?"
Ye Chen didn't answer, his eyes narrowing as he stared intently at the altar—or more precisely, at the object on it.
It was a head, as large as a wine jar, enveloped in black mist.
As he stared, blood trickled from the corners of Ye Chen's eyes, due to a terrifying backlash from his scrutiny, making his sea of consciousness buzz.
Seeing this, Kui Niu and Li Changsheng frowned.
What could he have been looking at to cause bleeding? Could there really be a treasure beneath the ground, and an extraordinary one at that?
Ye Chen concealed his Reincarnation Eye and furrowed his brow, "Whose head is that?"
Kui Niu asked again, "What exactly did you see?"
Ye Chen took a deep breath, "A head, just a head."
Kui Niu cursed, "I knew it! The Qiu Yu love digging up graves—they wouldn't even spare a single head."
Ye Chen shook his head lightly, "Not someone we can provoke." Merely glimpsing it had caused backlash; getting closer would likely be even worse.
However, avoiding that head didn't mean he wouldn't deal with the Qiu Yu. Whether for the heavens or for Liu Yi, it had to be done.
With that, he drew his Quasi-Emperor Sword and moved through the space, charging straight at the nearest figure, slaying them with a single swift strike.
It was a Saint King Qiu Yu, casually strolling through the void. Caught off guard, their head was severed, and their primordial spirit extinguished. Even in death, they never saw who had struck them down.
"Who is it?" The other Qiu Yu sensed the kill and roared in fury, sweeping a palm toward that section of the void.
But they were too slow—Ye Chen had already vanished, reappearing behind another Qiu Yu for another dominant strike, beheading them and obliterating their primordial spirit.
"Damn it!" A Great Saint Qiu Yu charged over, enraged by the sneak attacks that had felled two of their kin in succession.
Ye Chen ignored them completely, expertly using the Void Illusion from the Tian Zong World families to dart through the void space. Wherever he went, a Qiu Yu fell, each kill clean and absolute.
More Qiu Yu arrived, the weakest being Saint King level, swarming to surround that patch of void tightly.
Little did they know, Ye Chen had already slipped away to the outskirts.
He moved with cunning precision, targeting the outer Qiu Yu, striking with his sword again and again, sending them plummeting one by one.
"Cowardly sneak!" A Qiu Yu elder, a Great Saint, located Ye Chen and slammed a palm down, shattering that section of void.
This time, Ye Chen couldn't evade and was forced out.
Upon his appearance, no fewer than ten Great Saints lunged at him, their expressions savage and bloodthirsty. "You deserve to die."
Ye Chen snorted coldly, "You deserve it more." His left hand gripped the Quasi-Emperor Sword, his right the Quasi-Emperor War Halberd, his anger flaring.
Every time he encountered a Honghuang great clan, an inexplicable rage boiled within him.
During the Tian Mo Domain invasion, the heavens' cultivators had fought desperately, yet these Honghuang clans had cowered and refused to join the battle.
Now, with the demons repelled, they emerged to cause havoc, desecrating graves and slaughtering human cultivators—utterly detestable.
"Capture him alive!" One Great Saint Qiu Yu charged forward.
"Then come on!" Ye Chen roared, slashing out a river of immortal light with his sword. The Great Saint Qiu Yu collided with it head-on, flipping backward and nearly being split in two, their purple blood glowing as it sprayed.
Another Great Saint Qiu Yu narrowed his eyes, "Quasi-Emperor Weapons, two of them."
A third Great Saint Qiu Yu said, "Actually three. He has another inside his body, borrowing its power."
The Great Saints among the Qiu Yu sneered, "So, you're Chen Ye." They had heard of Chen Ye, a Saint with three Quasi-Emperor Weapons causing chaos everywhere.
Now, with Ye Chen masked, they couldn't identify his bloodline, but the weapons made his identity clear.
"You've saved us the trouble of hunting you," the Great Saints said viciously, transforming into their true forms, intent on slaughtering him for a great reward.
"Time to kill to my heart's content," Ye Chen rampaged through the skies, avoiding the Great Saints and focusing on the Saint Kings and Saints. He'd deal with the Great Saints later—first, wipe out the smaller fry.
His assaults were unstoppable for the Saint Kings and Saints; none could withstand even one of his strikes, and Qiu Yu fell in droves from the void.
"Seal him!" The Qiu Yu Great Saints united to deploy a heavenly net, a Quasi-Emperor Weapon, dropping it from above.
Ye Chen countered fiercely, swinging his sword and halberd—both Quasi-Emperor Weapons—tearing an opening in the net as immortal light burst forth.
"Die!" A Great Saint Qiu Yu pounced, opening its massive maw with a swirling vortex, attempting to swallow Ye Chen whole.
"What's the use of swallowing me?" Before the Great Saint could gloat, Ye Chen burst out, blasting a bloody hole through it.
"Join forces and strike him down!" The Great Saint Qiu Yu swarmed in.
Ye Chen yelled, "Attack your sister!" He wielded the halberd and sword wildly, his vital energy blazing like flames, fighting with raw power and fury, lost in a blood rage.
The desolate star was stained with blood, and the barren mountains were bathed in it, the scene gruesomely vivid.
Kui Niu and Li Changsheng watched excitedly, cheering and shouting encouragement for Ye Chen. Though they were too weak to join the fight, their spirits were high.
Li Changsheng grinned, "Looks like we'll have more meat to stew." He set up ten large iron pots, ready for the soup.
Kui Niu's eyes gleamed, "And plenty of treasures to collect." He rubbed his hands, eager to scavenge after the battle.
"Activate the Hegemonic Body!" Ye Chen's roar echoed powerfully in the outside void.
The Qiu Yu numbers were overwhelming; relying solely on Quasi-Emperor Weapons wasn't enough. Reluctantly, he activated it.
In a state nearing the Bloodline Limit, almost indestructible, nothing could match him short of a Quasi-Emperor.
"Kill! Kill for me!" The Great Saint Qiu Yu howled, seething from the humiliation of being ambushed—they were always the ones scheming against others, never the victims.
"I'll start with you." Ye Chen locked onto that Great Saint Qiu Yu, carving a bloody path toward them, determined to send them to the underworld.
The battle escalated, growing even more ferocious. The mighty Qiu Yu clan, a major Honghuang power, was decimated, their Great Saints powerless. Ye Chen was simply too dominant.
On Ming Jie's Ming Mountain, the Ming Emperor gazed at the battle, his voice ethereal, "Wang Xuan Star, you're no stranger to it."
Di Huang sighed, "I once invited him to come, but he refused." It seemed he could peer through the realms to the head beneath Wang Xuan Star.
The Ming Emperor smiled faintly, "Xing Tian's head carries the pride and dignity of a war god. The greatest below the Great Emperors, yet alas, born in the wrong era, forever denied the emperor's throne."
