Chapter 1461: My Good Daughter

Chapter 1461: A Fine Daughter

Night descended upon Kongque Xian Shan, peaceful and tranquil. Suddenly, a thunderous boom shattered the silence. From afar, the peaks of Kongque Shan glowed with immortal light, weaving together brilliant divine radiance, creating a magnificent spectacle. The dark night was transformed, adorned with colors like thousands of fireworks blooming in the sky.

Qian Shang Yue and Kongque Da Gongzhu clashed in the virtual heavens, both at the Sheng Ren level. One resembled the Nine Heavens Xuan Nu, the other a banished immortal from the mortal world. Their dazzling divine light could not overshadow their unparalleled elegance.

Such a commotion startled the entire Kongque clan. Everyone looked up, and upon seeing that the combatants were the family's elder and younger princesses, they were stunned.

"Why have the two princesses started fighting?"

"Their secret techniques have gone beyond mere sparring. Are Da Gongzhu and Xiao Gongzhu fighting to the death?"

Voices of astonishment rose like ocean waves.

"Even if they don't get along, this is going too far!"

"This gives me no peace at all." Kongque Shengzhu emerged, sighing heavily. He had long known his two daughters were at odds, and after years of building tension, it had finally erupted today.

"This is outrageous." A dignified and elegant woman appeared, the mother of Da Gongzhu. Her beauty was peerless, but her face was dark with anger. "To act so disrespectfully toward her elder sister is utterly brazen."

"So, according to you, it's right for the elder sister to attack the younger one?"

Another voice spoke up as a woman in white robes materialized—the mother of Xiao Gongzhu. Her tone was gentle, without a trace of coldness.

"You've raised a fine daughter." Da Gongzhu's mother snorted coldly, her expression growing even darker.

"Compared to her elder sister, the younger one is still a bit lacking." Xiao Gongzhu's mother smiled faintly.

"Enough! Do you think things aren't chaotic enough already?" Kongque Shengzhu let out a cold hum, rubbing his brow fiercely. The discord between his elder and younger daughters wasn't without reason—these two mothers were natural rivals. He only had himself to blame for his past philandering, courting one woman when one wasn't enough, and ending up with two.

"From way over here, I can still see the look on Kongque Shengzhu's face." On the Kongque peak, Xiao Yuan Huang shouldered his wolf-tooth club, not watching the battle but instead using his fiery golden eyes to scrutinize Kongque Shengzhu. Seeing the old man's troubled expression, he found it highly entertaining, relishing the chaos.

"Coming to the Kongque family with you was a mistake." Ye Chen glanced at the fellow.

"Even without me, they'd still fight if they were going to." Xiao Yuan Huang grinned, his eyes still fixed on Kongque Shengzhu's side. "See those two wives of Kongque Shengzhu? Ever since they joined the Kongque family, they've never stopped stirring things up. But to be fair, they're both incredibly beautiful."

Ye Chen instinctively stepped aside, putting some distance between himself and Xiao Yuan Huang, looking at him as if he were some kind of spectacle.

Xiao Yuan Huang completely ignored Ye Chen's gaze, his golden eyes darting around in all directions without saying a word.

Ye Chen shifted a couple more steps away, deciding not to bother with him anymore, and turned his attention to the virtual heavens.

Qian Shang Yue and Da Gongzhu were fighting fiercely, unleashing ancient secret techniques that shattered the sky and earth.

The two were evenly matched in cultivation and combat power, neither able to gain the upper hand, which made their battle a masterpiece of exquisite skill. The Kongque disciples watched with gleaming eyes.

Ye Chen sighed in admiration. Who says women are inferior to men? Whether in his homeland of Da Chu, the myriad realms of Zhutian, or this Xuan Huang mainland, every woman he had encountered was extraordinarily formidable.

As he watched, Qian Shang Yue and Da Gongzhu had already positioned themselves on opposite sides of the void, their immortal swords buzzing.

On one side, Qian Shang Yue held her sword upright, her two fingers pressed together as she stroked the blade. Ancient divine patterns on the sword awakened, releasing sword energy that danced with the Dao principles, rapidly gathering forces of annihilation.

On the other side, Da Gongzhu held her sword horizontally, her slender fingers also pressed together, swiftly stroking the blade. Divine patterns on her sword awakened as well, shooting out sword light that intertwined with the Dao, evolving into secret techniques.

The two were employing opposite extreme secret arts—one vertical, one horizontal—yet both originated from the same source. Their power was devastating, capable of crushing everything in their path, with annihilating forces that could demolish mountains and cleave seas.

The elder members of the Kongque family furrowed their brows, recognizing these techniques and knowing their terrifying might. Such arts were typically used against external enemies, and they were baffled as to why the two princesses were deploying them now.

Below, Kongque Shengzhu ascended to the heavens, standing between Qian Shang Yue and Da Gongzhu in the void. With a wave of his hand, he dispelled the secret techniques they had been brewing. As a Da Sheng level expert, he possessed such strength.

The two finally ceased their battle. Qian Shang Yue's expression was cold and indifferent, while Da Gongzhu's was icily furious. Unable to defeat Qian Shang Yue, she was deeply unsatisfied.

"You're far from my level."

"If you're not satisfied, elder sister, we can continue."

"That's enough." Kongque Shengzhu's voice was stern, forcefully extinguishing the spark between the sisters. If he let them go on, the entire Kongque clan's immortal mountain would be reduced to ruins.

"Both of you, return to your quarters and stop this nonsense." His words carried the authority of a father, not a suggestion but a command. He needed to act as befitted a Shengzhu.

Qian Shang Yue complied, sheathing her Kongque Xian Jian and descending from the void. Had Kongque Shengzhu not intervened, she would have made Da Gongzhu pay dearly for her words.

Da Gongzhu snorted coldly and turned to leave the void as well, but her anger only burned hotter. Unable to teach Qian Shang Yue a lesson, she remained defiant.

The conflict came to an end, and the startled Kongque clan members returned to their respective peaks.

No sooner had Kongque Shengzhu descended than he was summoned by Kongque Da Ming Wang for a talk. Many of the elders cast pitying glances his way—his upcoming scolding was inevitable.

Meanwhile, Qian Shang Yue had returned to Kongque Peak, drenched in sweat and somewhat disheveled.

Xiao Yuan Huang, ever the opportunist, scurried over, rubbing his furry paws together, intending to massage her shoulders or pat her back. But Ye Chen kicked him away.

"What happened tonight has brought you shame." Qian Shang Yue looked at Ye Chen, her eyes full of apology.

"What are you talking about?" Ye Chen poured her a cup of ancient tea. "I'm thick-skinned. I know which words to take to heart and which to ignore."

"In that case, stay on this peak for now. Tomorrow, we'll go together to the Wan Zu Sheng Hui. Then, we'll go our separate ways, each seeking the ones we hold dear."

"Then I should get a good night's sleep." Ye Chen smiled slightly and headed to the mountain's summit, where a Hui Xin stone stood—a perfect spot for meditation and enlightenment.

Qian Shang Yue also rose, her steps graceful as a lotus, transforming into a wisp of immortal light as she went to her cave dwelling.

Xiao Yuan Huang, feeling bored, picked up his Wujin iron rod and leaped onto an ancient tree, finding a sturdy branch to lie on and quickly falling asleep.

Until the dead of night, he suddenly jumped up, glanced around, and stealthily made his way toward Qian Shang Yue's cave, his fiery golden eyes shining brightly in the darkness.

Before long, screams echoed, startling many from their sleep.

From his position at the summit, Ye Chen peered down and, even from a distance, could see Xiao Yuan Huang dazed and bound to a crooked ancient tree by Qian Shang Yue.

Ye Chen couldn't help but chuckle. That Xiao Yuan Huang was incorrigible, always going after tough targets. In the end, he never won the beauties and only ended up getting beaten—each time worse than the last.

Slowly clearing his thoughts, Ye Chen closed his eyes, allowing starlight to fall and merge into his sacred body.

This was the wonder of the Nine Stars Tian Chen Jue, which allowed absorption of stellar power. He had stumbled upon this technique in the Da Chu desert years ago, and over two hundred years later, he had fully comprehended its essence.

A gentle breeze stirred, lifting his white hair. Having just closed his eyes, he slowly opened them again.

Before him stood a purple-robed elder, exuding an air of immortality and ancient simplicity. Though right in front of him, the figure seemed more distant than a dream. It was Kongque Da Ming Wang, the ancestor of the Kongque family.

Ye Chen hurriedly stood, bowed, and offered a junior's salute.

"Seen over Da Ming Wang."

"The long night makes it hard to sleep, so I sought someone to pass the time." Kongque Da Ming Wang smiled warmly, his face full of kindness, without any of a strong one's aura or an elder's pretense.

"I'm truly honored." Ye Chen gave a dry laugh, feeling uneasy all over.

"What is your relationship with Liu Dao?"

"That was my ancestor." Ye Chen launched into his explanation without surprise. Kongque Da Ming Wang asking this wasn't unexpected—along his journey, every Zhun Di he met had posed the same question. As the former Chi Yang Zi had said, Liu Dao was quite famous in Xuan Huang, and all the old-timers knew of him.

"Then, my young friend, could you tell this old one who Ruoxi is? Is she also from your family line?" Kongque Da Ming Wang smiled kindly, like a benevolent elder, entirely without menace.
