Chapter 1460: The Eldest Princess

Chapter 1460: Da Gongzhu

After the great battle concluded, Xiao Yuan Huang was still being beaten, while Qian Shang Yue had already taken Ye Chen to tour various locations. At each stop, one person was taken away—these were reincarnated individuals, both male and female.

The members of the Kongque Clan watched in astonishment, but their gazes were primarily fixed on Ye Chen. He had driven away the Jinwu Taizi, and having an Ancient Holy Body as a partner wasn't a bad prospect at all. The two of them did seem quite compatible.

At some point, Qian Shang Yue led Ye Chen and the reincarnated individuals to a mountain peak. This peak was named Kongque Peak, Qian Shang Yue's personal cultivation site, reserved exclusively for the princess.

Ye Chen erected a barrier, enveloping the entire mountain, followed by streaks of immortal light.

The reincarnated individuals trembled, their expressions filled with pain as they clutched their heads and moaned. Their minds were in turmoil. Fortunately, the mountain was shielded by the barrier; if outsiders had witnessed this, it would surely have caused alarm.

"I should be heading out," Ye Chen said, glancing at the reincarnated individuals before gently setting down his teacup. He then produced a storage bag. "Inside are many jade slips, sealed with memory immortal lights."

"There's no rush to depart tomorrow," Qian Shang Yue replied with a gentle smile. "Nan Yu will host a Wan Zu Sheng Hui tomorrow, and all major sects will send representatives. Come with me—there might be reincarnated individuals present at the event."

"Wan Zu Sheng Hui," Ye Chen murmured, stroking his chin. He thought it was probably similar to the Yaochi Sheng Hui.

"After all this traveling, you should take some time to rest," Qian Shang Yue said, pouring him a full cup of tea. "After the event, I will also set out to search for people. I share the same mission."

"In that case, we'll depart tomorrow," Ye Chen smiled. "Let's hope it doesn't disappoint us."

As they conversed, the reincarnated individuals began to unlock their sealed memories one by one. The scenes that unfolded were quite emotional, with tears streaming down their faces amidst sighs, murmurs of regret, choked sobs, and cries.

As night descended, the barrier was lifted, and Xiao Yuan Huang hobbled up the mountain peak, iron rod in hand. His face was bruised and swollen, and his fur, like golden needles, was now curled up.

Ye Chen took one look and burst into laughter. It seemed that ever since Xiao Yuan Huang had arrived at the Kongque Clan, he hadn't caught a break—he had been beaten repeatedly, and each time worse than the last. It was quite satisfying to witness.

"You still have the audacity to laugh," Xiao Yuan Huang said, his face darkening. "I'm bewildered—why do they only beat me when we both caused trouble? Do I just have a face that begs for a punch?"

"Speaking of causing trouble, I haven't settled accounts with you yet," Ye Chen scolded. "You were the one who dragged me into it. And you were the one making the mess, pulling me down with you."

"I was helping you deal with your rival," Xiao Yuan Huang coughed, pulling a peach from his pocket. "When you and Xiao Kongque finally get married, don't forget to invite me. We'll celebrate together."

"Eat your fill, enjoy yourself, and then I'll send you on your way," Qian Shang Yue said lightly, sipping her tea, her eyes flashing with sparks. She had never encountered anyone so utterly rude and obnoxious.

"You're just trying to frighten me," Xiao Yuan Huang said shamelessly, munching on the peach. "I can't help it—this Jinwu guy gets under my skin. I had five sworn brothers, and he crippled four of them. If he dares to propose marriage again, I'll stir up trouble once more."

"You have a grudge with him, and you dragged me into it—clearly setting me up!" Ye Chen's face darkened. If not for his own cultivation, he might have been finished today. How could he still be sitting here drinking tea?

"We're brothers," Xiao Yuan Huang grinned. "If a brother has trouble, you have to help."

"Get lost—I don't know you," Ye Chen turned away, not wanting to be associated with this guy. Who knows when he would be tricked again? Where would he even go to complain?

"How can you say that? We've fought side by side," Xiao Yuan Huang said, clinging persistently. "Tomorrow at the Wan Zu Sheng Hui, I'll introduce you to my five sworn brothers."

Ye Chen ignored Xiao Yuan Huang. Even if he went, he would maintain his distance from this guy and his brothers. No doubt they would all be the same shameless type.

As they spoke, a graceful figure soared through the sky and landed at the summit of Kongque Peak. It was a woman with purple hair, adorned in elaborate luanfeng immortal robes, her entire body radiating dazzling divine light. She was extraordinarily elegant.

This woman possessed a peerless beauty, with a resemblance to Qian Shang Yue, sharing that same proud and aloof demeanor. Her cultivation level was on par with Qian Shang Yue's, perhaps even slightly higher.

Ye Chen looked up, a hint of wariness in his eyes. This woman was very powerful, on the same level as the Jinwu Taizi. Her casual entry onto Kongque Peak made it easy to deduce her esteemed status in the Kongque Clan.

"This is the Da Gongzhu of the Kongque Clan, sister to Xiao Kongque from a different mother. They've never gotten along since childhood," Xiao Yuan Huang whispered, tugging at Ye Chen's sleeve. "Tread carefully—she's nothing like Xiao Kongque. If you upset her, she'll draw her sword without a second thought."

"I can see that," Ye Chen said with a faint smile. He wouldn't provoke the Da Gongzhu of the Kongque Clan, even without the reminder. He could tell she carried more killing intent than Xiao Kongque.

"Nine days ago, Da Gongzhu married the prince of the Kunpeng Clan, shaking all of Nan Yu," Xiao Yuan Huang continued. "Her return is likely to visit the family."

"Kunpeng," Ye Chen murmured with a sigh. Another ancient and mighty race—they had produced a great emperor, the Kunpeng Da Di, one of the Xuan Huang 130 Emperors.

Legends of this clan were equally ancient, rivaling the Jinwu Clan. It was said their ancestors were among the first beings after the world's creation, with incredibly dominant bloodlines.

"You all, withdraw," Da Gongzhu said coolly, her eyes cold and carrying an air of authority that brooked no defiance. She was addressing the reincarnated individuals, her tone commanding.

The reincarnated individuals rose and left without hesitation. Though they were from Da Chu in their past lives, in this one, they were members of the Kongque Clan. With that identity, they had to obey the princess's orders.

Ye Chen frowned, displeased with Da Gongzhu's tone. Did she realize the people she was commanding had fought and bled to protect the myriad realms over two hundred years ago? She owed them her life.

Xiao Yuan Huang shivered, feeling a chill run down his spine. Even the battle-hungry him felt intimidated. The atmosphere turned icy with Da Gongzhu's arrival.

Qian Shang Yue's expression wasn't pleasant either, as if she were ignoring Da Gongzhu's presence altogether. Or perhaps, as half-sisters, they had always been at odds.

Da Gongzhu glanced at Ye Chen and Xiao Yuan Huang before turning to Qian Shang Yue. "I returned to the family and heard you drove away the Jinwu Taizi."

"Sister, if you have something to say, speak directly. There's no need to beat around the bush," Qian Shang Yue replied indifferently.

"You still don't see your mistake," Da Gongzhu said, her tone even colder, her authoritative presence growing stronger.

"Where did I go wrong?" Qian Shang Yue asked, calmly sipping her tea without turning around.

"What is the Jinwu Clan's status? Have you considered the trouble your willfulness could bring to our family?" Da Gongzhu scolded sharply. "Can you bear the consequences?"

"So, you're here to hold me accountable," Qian Shang Yue said, finally standing to face Da Gongzhu directly, her own presence unflinching. "I simply don't like the Jinwu Taizi. That's all there is to it."

"Exactly! Xiao Kongque doesn't like that big firebird, and neither do I," Xiao Yuan Huang chimed in, then quickly hid behind Ye Chen. "You can't force these things."

"This doesn't concern you," Da Gongzhu snapped, her cold gaze sweeping over Xiao Yuan Huang and lingering on Ye Chen. "If not for you two causing trouble, we wouldn't be in this mess."

"We've already admitted our fault, and there's a ten-move duel agreement. The Jinwu Taizi himself said it would end the matter," Ye Chen said calmly, his eyes steady and unruffled.

"Ancient Holy Body, you have quite the audacity," Da Gongzhu sneered. "Do you think being unbeatable in your realm means you can act without restraint? You're overestimating yourself. In my eyes, you're nothing. And you dare dream of marrying into the Kongque Clan? How delusional."

"I don't want to hear that again. You're not welcome here—leave," Qian Shang Yue said coldly. She saw Ye Chen as family, and disrespecting him crossed her line.

"Sister, I sometimes question your judgment," Da Gongzhu said with a mocking laugh, not angry at all. "Just for a quasi-saint level Ancient Holy Body, you gave up the Jinwu Taizi and even defy me, your sister. What is he, anyway?"

As Da Gongzhu finished, the sound of a sword ringing echoed. A dazzling immortal sword had materialized in Qian Shang Yue's hand. Her aura surged to its peak, making the surrounding void tremble and buzz. Centered on her feet, the mountain peak began to freeze over inch by inch.

"So, for him, you want to fight me?" Da Gongzhu said with a幽幽 smile. "You've advanced to saint and grown bold. What have you learned all these years? Disobedience?"

"I'll show you what I've learned," Qian Shang Yue replied, swinging her sword and unleashing a streak of immortal light—brilliant and devastating, easily tearing through the void.
