Chapter 1389: No Invitation

This was a stretch of immortal mountains, shrouded in rain and mist, as if fairies were veiled in plain gauze, beautifully mysterious.

Gazing upon it, the surging exotic colors and dancing immortal glows sketched out wonderful scenes, like dreams and illusions, an ethereal fairyland that inspired longing yet remained unattainable.

This was Yao Chi Holy Land, standing tall in Dong Huang for endless ages, witnessing the vicissitudes of seas turning into mulberry fields.

The heritage of Yao Chi was extremely ancient, with their forebears being the last great emperor of the desolate ancient era, revered across all heavens and myriad domains as the Yao Chi Empress, her legends all myths.

Today, Yao Chi Holy Land was bustling and lively, hosting the Yao Chi Grand Assembly that occurred once every hundred years.

As dawn broke, the gates of Yao Chi were already thronged with people, all distinguished guests from afar, either great masters with divine abilities or backed by powerful forces, none of them ordinary.

From the distant sky, two figures arrived on divine rainbows, landing not far from the Yao Chi immortal mountains. Upon closer inspection, they were Ye Chen and Qi Wang, both having altered their appearances, with Qi Wang now in human form.

The two had traveled tirelessly for nine straight days without rest, passing through over a hundred ancient cities to reach this place. Fortunately, they had made it in time for the grand assembly.

In these nine days, Ye Chen had reaped great rewards, finding several hundred reincarnated individuals and dispatching them to develop separately. After passing through Yao Chi Holy Land, he would set out again to search for more.

Qi Wang:"Having produced a great emperor is indeed different. This spectacle, these immortal mountains—it's nothing like those third-rate holy lands."

Ye Chen was also gazing from afar, his eyes filled with reverence. With an emperor weapon concealing the mysteries, even immortal eyes couldn't penetrate it. The immortal legacy of a great emperor was far from as simple as imagined.

Qi Wang:"Look, another Zhun Di."

Ye Chen glanced over but wasn't surprised—in fact, he had grown accustomed to it. Along their journey, they had encountered no fewer than nine Zhun Di level figures, all here to attend the Yao Chi Grand Assembly.

The two withdrew their gazes and approached the gates of Yao Chi Holy Land one after the other.

At first sight, they saw two rows of female disciples in white robes, standing neatly outside the gates, their garments fluttering gracefully, each with a face as beautiful as the moon, like fairies descended from the nine heavens, untouched by worldly matters.

In front of the two rows stood two elderly women in white robes, continuously welcoming guests into the immortal mountains. Both had considerable cultivation, at the Sheng Wang level, leaving Ye Chen and Qi Wang stunned and impressed. No wonder Yao Chi had such deep foundations—even their greeters were at the Sheng Wang level.

As the two tried to slip inside, one of the elderly women extended her hand to stop them. Seeing that their cultivation was only at the Quasi-Saint level, she spoke with an unfriendly tone:"Please show your invitation."

Qi Wang:"We don't have one."

Ye Chen nearly burst out laughing at Qi Wang's brazen attitude. Here he was, acting all cocky without an invitation, and even seeming proud of it.

The elderly woman:"Then leave at once."

Ye Chen:"Senior, we are old friends of your divine maiden. Please make an exception for us."

Before the elderly woman could respond, a mocking laugh came from behind:"The friends of Yao Chi's immortal maiden? Did I hear that right, divine son?"

Turning around, they saw a young man in white robes who looked vaguely familiar at first glance, and upon closer inspection, it was indeed Ri Yue Shen Zi.

Ye Chen:"It's a good thing Chu Ling Yu isn't here, or she'd probably strike you down with a palm."

Back in the day, it was this very person who had abducted and imprisoned Hong Chen.

Ri Yue Shen Zi stepped forward, glancing at Ye Chen and Qi Wang with a mix of mockery and disdain:"Two Quasi-Saints daring to claim friendship with Yao Chi's immortal maiden? What a joke."

Qi Wang:"You're just a Quasi-Saint yourself—what's there to boast about?"

Ri Yue Shen Zi:"How dare you compare yourself to me, the divine son?"

Qi Wang's temper flared, and he rolled up his sleeves ready for a fight. But when he noticed the two Da Sheng level guards behind Ri Yue Shen Zi, he quickly backed down.

Ri Yue Shen Zi had already ignored Ye Chen and Qi Wang completely, taking out a divine pearl from his sleeve and presenting it to the greeter Sheng Wang elderly woman:"A humble gift from this junior—please accept it with a smile."

The elderly woman accepted it with a wave of her hand, her face lighting up with joy, clearly recognizing the pearl's extraordinary nature. She particularly favored those who knew how to show respect.

The Yao Chi female disciples collectively gestured with light flicks of their sleeves:"Divine son, please enter."

Each of them smiled radiantly—blame it on Ri Yue Shen Zi's somewhat handsome appearance, which had them all smitten.

Ri Yue Shen Zi:"You're too kind."

He lightly fanned his mountain and river folding fan, exuding elegance, and as he left, he couldn't resist casting a smug glance back at Ye Chen and Qi Wang.

Qi Wang:"I'm not kidding, guys like him—I could take on ten at once."

Watching Ri Yue Shen Zi's retreating figure, Qi Wang spoke with an air of profound wisdom, his demeanor instantly turning impressive.

The elderly woman glanced at the two and added a touch of supreme authority to her voice:"Still not leaving?"

Qi Wang:"We're really old friends of your divine maiden."He smoothed his hair:"Just a few days ago, we were out enjoying the pleasures together. If you don't believe us, call her out and ask!"

The elderly woman roared in fury:"Absurd!"

The outburst made Qi Wang's head ring, and even Ye Chen saw stars in his eyes.

The elderly woman:"If you keep causing trouble, don't blame me for disciplining you."

Ye Chen:"Let's go, let's go."

While rubbing his eyes, Ye Chen dragged away the still-wobbling Qi Wang. This guy had no filter—always blurting out nonsense—who else would they yell at?

And so, the two were turned away before even entering the gates, stumbling as they walked, shaken by the Sheng Wang's roar. Not spitting blood was already fortunate.

Only after reaching a hundred zhang from the gates did they stop, squatting down side by side. As a result, everyone attending the grand assembly gave them a curious once-over before entering.

Qi Wang:"Are we looking pretty awkward right now?"

He shamelessly wiped the fresh blood from his nose—at least his head was clear now, though the blood kept flowing.

Ye Chen:"With you around, everywhere we go is awkward."

Qi Wang:"Don't mess around."

Ye Chen snorted dismissively, pulled out his wine flask, and plopped down on the ground. He drank while watching the passersby, all of whom had invitations.

In doing so, he spotted quite a few familiar faces, such as those from Tai Qing Palace, Zhi Zun City, and Miao Miao Palace. From afar, he saw Tai Qing Shen Zi, Zhi Zun Shen Zi, and Miao Miao Shen Zi.

The three strutted about arrogantly, as if being invited by Yao Chi Holy Land was a huge honor. When they passed Ye Chen and Qi Wang, their glances were full of condescension.

Ye Chen ignored them completely—if he had the chance, he'd give them another thrashing.

Besides them, there were people from Tian Fa Holy Land, Yu Hua Shen Dynasty, and Cang Ling Hall.

It was clear that Tian Fa Shen Zi, Yu Hua Shen Zi, and Cang Ling Shen Zi's expressions were terribly sour, still fuming over how Ye Chen had sabotaged the spatial passage at Emperor King City.

They passed by and noticed Ye Chen and Qi Wang but didn't recognize him, thanks to his changed appearance and the Zhou Tian Evolution concealing his secrets. Otherwise, things would have gotten lively.

More people arrived next, and Ye Chen scanned them, but he didn't see a single reincarnated individual.

What was certain was that besides Ji Ning Shuang, there were other reincarnated people in Yao Chi Immortal Mountains—that's why he was so determined to get inside. Even if he had to leave, he needed to unseal them first.

Time passed bit by bit, and the attendees for the Yao Chi Grand Assembly became sparser.

Ye Chen watched eagerly from start to finish but didn't spot any reincarnated individuals. Not only that, he didn't see anyone who could help him enter, like the phoenix from Feng Huang Clan, Chi Yang Zi from Dong Hua, or the matron mentioned by Nan Ming Yu Shuo. Unfortunately, none appeared.

In contrast, inside Yao Chi Immortal Mountains, it was extraordinarily lively, a true sea of people.

Gazing from afar through the hazy mist, there were jade tables everywhere, each laden with fine wines, jade dew, and crystal-clear pan peaches, their fragrance permeating the entire immortal mountains.

This was the real fairyland, free of worldly filth, with every flower, grass, tree, and plant exuding immortal energy, and even the white cranes perched on branches dancing gracefully in the clouds.

All the guests had taken their seats and were exchanging pleasantries, quietly awaiting the start of the assembly.

At some point, the discussions faded, and everyone's eyes turned to one side.

There, a graceful figure approached slowly, stepping with elegant lotus strides, her white robes spotless, her entire body enveloped in immortal splendor, like a blooming lotus of the golden age, pure and flawless.

It was Ji Ning Shuang, now in women's attire, her beauty peerless, her elegance unmatched, the foremost beauty of Dong Huang. Every frown and smile captivated the soul, perfect without a single flaw.

The young cultivators watched entranced, lost in admiration. Cultivators loved beauties, especially one as perfect as this—not just them, even many elders felt their hearts stir.

Ji Ning Shuang sat down, her eyes like water scanning all around, as if searching for something.

This glance made many young cultivators sit up straight, each fanning their folding fans with poise, thinking she was seeking a future ideal partner and eager to show off.

But they were overthinking it—way overthinking. Ji Ning Shuang looked around and then withdrew her gaze, as if she hadn't found the person she sought, and her eyes dimmed slightly.

Someone whispered:"Yao Chi Immortal Mother has arrived."

This drew everyone's attention. On the cloud platform, immortal glows drifted, and Yao Chi Immortal Mother manifested her true form, also radiantly elegant. Though not far away, she seemed more distant than a dream, leaving people once again captivated.

Yao Chi Immortal Mother smiled gently and spoke:"I am honored that all you fellow daoists have graced us with your presence; Yao Chi Holy Land is overwhelmed."

Everyone stood and bowed:"It is our honor."

Yao Chi Immortal Mother:"On behalf of Yao Chi Holy Land, I offer a toast to all fellow daoists."

But before she could finish, her words were interrupted by a bold, raucous shout from outside the mountains:"Yao Chi, come out—your brother is taking you to the brothels!"
