Chapter 1336: My Old Man

Ye Chen smiled and waved his hand, stepping down from the mountain peak, leaving a desolate figure for the reincarnated ones to behold.

The reincarnated ones waved back, all remaining silent, unsure when they would meet again after this farewell. There were too many heroic souls of Da Chu to find, and by the time he located them all, the exhausted Ye Chen might already be white-haired and decrepit.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, Ye Chen followed Xingyue Shengnu to a massive underground palace belonging to the Yu Ling family.

Deep within the underground palace stood a vast altar, spanning ten thousand zhang in diameter, with a teleportation array upon it—more precisely, a Xing Kong Yu Tai. The power of space swirled wildly around it.

Ye Chen had come to the Yu Ling family to use the Xing Kong Yu Tai, but he had been delayed because he had accidentally found the little Ling Wa. Compared to flying, the Xing Kong Yu Tai was much faster.

Ye Chen stepped onto the altar and casually asked,

"You might have been to Xuan Huang Continent."

Xingyue Shengnu laughed while adjusting the space coordinates. "Our ancestor said that one should not go to Xuan Huang Continent without reaching the Sheng Ren level. Though it is the holy land of cultivators, it is full of dangers."

"I believe that," Ye Chen said with a smile. There were beings there that even the Zhu Tian Jian Shen dared not provoke lightly, so one could imagine how terrifying it was. Even if a Sheng Ren went, they might not survive.

"This Xing Kong Yu Tai can only teleport nine million li," Xingyue Shengnu said after setting the coordinates, smiling at Ye Chen. "The rest of the journey, the Sheng Zhu will have to travel alone. Once you leave this star domain, you'll encounter a star sea. Cross that star sea, and you'll reach Xuan Huang Continent."

"Do you have a message for Ye Xing Chen?" Ye Chen asked, smiling back at Xingyue Shengnu who stood outside the array.

"If the Sheng Zhu finds him, please say that Xing Er is waiting for him, no matter the ends of the earth or until the end of time." Xingyue Shengnu's smile was tinged with tears. "I will wear my wedding dress and wait for him to marry me."

"It won't be too long," Ye Chen said with a slight smile.

"Farewell, Sheng Zhu." Xingyue Shengnu knelt on one knee as the array activated, and Ye Chen vanished in an instant.

However, what Xingyue Shengnu did not notice was that just before Ye Chen disappeared, a flash of golden light darted into the Xing Kong Yu Tai. It moved incredibly fast, and upon closer inspection, it was the little Ling Wa.

The underground palace fell silent after Ye Chen's departure, filled only with the intermittent sobs of the lovesick woman. Just a moment before, she had nearly stepped into the Xing Kong Yu Tai with Ye Chen.

A gentle breeze blew, and a phantom figure appeared in the underground palace. It was an elderly man with a kind and gentle face—Yu Ling Lao Zu—but this was not his true Sheng Wang body; it was a manifestation of his divine sea consciousness.

He had come to chase after the little Ling Wa, but his true body was restricted, making him slightly slower and unable to catch up. He also chose not to forcibly reverse the Xing Kong Yu Tai, as some karmic ties could not be forced.

At his side, Xingyue Shengnu, who had just risen, quickly performed a deep bow upon seeing Yu Ling Lao Zu.

Yu Ling Lao Zu waved his hand gently and smiled warmly. "As your father, I am very curious about the person you call Sheng Zhu. What is his background, and what secrets are you hiding?"

Xingyue Shengnu smiled faintly and gently wiped away the tears from her eyes, but she did not answer Yu Ling Lao Zu's question. The matter was simply too difficult to explain, and even if she tried, no one would believe it.

In the bizarre and twisted space passage, Ye Chen stared in surprise at the little Ling Wa. He had no idea when this little creature had slipped in and appeared out of nowhere.

The little Ling Wa shook its head and wagged its tail as usual, acting carefree. "You're going to Xuan Huang Continent to show off and didn't even call me? I'm the Ba Wang Long—going with me would be so cool."

"That doesn't make sense!" Ye Chen stroked his chin and sized up the little Ling Wa. "When we left, your cultivation was still at Ling Xu Jing. How did you jump to Kong Ming Jing in the blink of an eye?"

"Do you think I spent two hundred years in that dragon egg for nothing?" the little Ling Wa snorted.

"What's so great about that? Your cultivation shot up quickly, but I don't see you growing any bigger!" Ye Chen said.

"Nonsense—good things come in small packages," the little Ling Wa replied.

"That's true." Ye Chen grinned at the little Ling Wa. "How about I draw some blood from you?"

"Trade it for your Sheng blood." The little Ling Wa glanced sideways at Ye Chen. "And let me tell you, my lao die has a terrible temper. Don't keep targeting me, or he'll kick you to death with one foot."

"Your lao die?" Ye Chen raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Do you know where your lao die is?"

"In here." The little Ling Wa pointed to its little head. "There are some sealed memories from my lao die."

"Then your lao die must be pretty huge." Ye Chen stroked his chin, recalling the visions when the little Ling Wa hatched—the towering Ba Wang Long was indeed enormous.

"When will you advance to Sheng Ren?" The little Ling Wa blinked its round eyes at Ye Chen.

"I'm only over two hundred years old—what are you kidding? Advancing to Sheng Ren for fun?"

"Then hurry up—I need you to help save my lao die."

"Save your lao die?" Ye Chen was taken aback.

"My lao die is sealed away." The little Ling Wa lay down listlessly on the ground. "It's a terrifying place. I learned about it from my inherited memories. I have to save him."

"What's your lao die's cultivation level?" Ye Chen asked, eyeing the little Ling Wa tentatively.

"Zhun Di."

"No way!" Ye Chen looked at the little Ling Wa in disbelief. "A Ba Wang Long at Zhun Di level is incredibly terrifying—even if not as strong as Zhu Tian Jian Shen, it could at least match him. How could it be sealed?"

"The other side has nine ancient Zhun Di. Even Zhu Tian Jian Shen would have to kneel, let alone my father emperor." The little Ling Wa cursed, its bright eyes flashing with cold light.

"Now that you've said that, even if I become a Sheng Ren, what's the point?" Ye Chen grimaced. "They're nine ancient Zhun Di—you and I going there wouldn't even be enough to fill their teeth."

"We're not going to fight them." The little Ling Wa said, "I have a plan. We'll sneak in quietly, break the seal, rescue my father emperor, and then use your Xian Lun Tian Dao to escape."

"Why not find others from your Ba Wang Long clan? Get a group of Zhun Di—that would be straightforward."

"Going to them would get us killed even faster." The little Ling Wa snorted coldly. "If it weren't for their rebellion, my father emperor wouldn't have been sealed. They might even be searching everywhere for me right now."

"Your family affairs are quite a mess!"

"It's a bit chaotic," the little Ling Wa replied lazily.

"How about you go back to the Yu Ling family and wait?" Ye Chen said meaningfully. "I'm going to find the reincarnated ones. If you follow me like this, I might end up being hunted with you."

"Are you even my brother?"

"Don't mess around—you're from the Xuan generation, and I'm from the Qing generation. By seniority, you should call me Shi Shu."

"Go to hell!" The little Ling Wa kicked off the ground and lunged at Ye Chen with a shout.

"Hey, you have such a bad temper." Ye Chen was about to retort, but his expression suddenly changed as he detected a chilling killing intent rapidly approaching.

In a flash, he waved his hand to pull the little Ling Wa into the Hun Dun Ding and then retreated a step.

The spot where he had been standing shattered—it was a pitch-black sword light carrying devastating destructive power, slicing through the entire space passage.

As the space passage collapsed, Ye Chen didn't hesitate and escaped directly, emerging into the starry sky. Blood overflowed from his mouth. Though he hadn't been hit, the residual force had injured him, leaving a wound on his shoulder.

"What's going on?" The little Ling Wa in the ding also paled. If Ye Chen hadn't reacted quickly, they would both have been obliterated. The attacker had used a deadly divine ability.

"Who knows?" Ye Chen cursed under his breath as he healed the sword wound on his shoulder, his face darkening. They had been in the teleportation passage, yet the attacker had pinpointed their location so accurately—that divine ability alone was heaven-defying, not to mention the opponent's cultivation.

"You're quite something." A faint voice echoed, ethereal and elusive. A black-clad figure appeared in the starry sky opposite Ye Chen, approaching slowly like a ghost of the night.

"Bai Yue Shen Jiao." Ye Chen narrowed his eyes, recognizing the yin moon emblem on the black-clad person's robe.

"You're the first at the Zhun Sheng level to dodge my strike," the black-clad person said with a sinister laugh, his voice like it came from Jiu You—cold, desolate, and spine-chilling.

"You, a Sheng Wang, sneaking an attack on a junior—you have no shame!" Ye Chen exploded in anger, cursing outright. Though he liked ambushing others, he hated being ambushed, especially by a Sheng Wang.
