Chapter 1168: Legend of Old Friends

The two embarked on a journey, drifting through the starry sky.

Ye Chen walked and frequently paused, examining every ancient star they encountered.

This star domain was home to many ancient stars. Some had even given rise to living beings, yet none harbored reincarnated individuals, leaving Ye Chen deeply disappointed.

"What exactly are you searching for?"

Yan Laodao was puzzled. He had posed this question repeatedly along the way. As Ye Chen stopped, so did he, and he even managed to subdue a few demons and monsters during their travels. However, to this day, he remained clueless about Ye Chen's true objective.

Ye Chen smiled but offered no response.

Matters of reincarnation and rebirth were too profound. Even if he were to explain, Yan Laodao might not believe him.

And so, the two journeyed on like passing travelers, covered in dust, traversing one ancient star after another.

It wasn't until more than ten days later that they finally came to a halt.

In the distant starry sky, an ancient star materialized, vast and radiant, like a shining pearl in the cosmos. That was Wangu Star, the largest in this particular star domain.

At that moment, the starry sky was bustling, with streaks of divine light flashing by, all converging on Wangu Star.

"Quite a few people are arriving."

Yan Laodao took a swig of wine, concealed his aura, and used a secret technique to alter his appearance.

"Indeed, there are many."

Ye Chen surveyed their surroundings. The newcomers were all cultivators, and not just humans—there were also numerous demon and devil cultivators among them, including several Zhun Sheng, all with their auras hidden.

Ye Chen stroked his chin, contemplating whether he should have brought Fa Tong along. With so many demons and ghosts present, would he dare to convert them?

"You always pick on the easy targets," Ye Chen muttered to himself.

"Kid, you'd best behave yourself on this ancient star," Yan Laodao's voice came through as they walked. "There are three Sheng Ren guarding this place. If you cause any trouble, you'll lose your life."

"Three Zhun Sheng." Ye Chen was startled. Such a lineup exceeded his expectations.

"Legend has it that Wangu Star once produced a Zhun Di," Yan Laodao spoke slowly, his eyes filled with reverence.

"Zhun Di." Ye Chen sighed, now viewing Wangu Star in a new light. The power of a Zhun Di still sent a shiver of fear down his spine. He had only glimpsed one once and suffered a backlash; his Xian Lun Eye remained sealed. A Zhun Di was just a step away from a Da Di—that supreme existence was no trifling matter.

"Let's go." Yan Laodao took the lead, crossing the vast starry sky and landing on Wangu Star.

At night, the starry sky was immense and boundless. From Wangu Star, the stars seemed almost within reach, their brilliant light cascading down and enveloping the ancient star in a sacred veil.

As soon as they landed, Ye Chen began his calculations, using his fingers.

However, despite Wangu Star's size and the large number of inhabitants, there was no one he was searching for, leaving him disappointed once more.

Shortly after, the two stopped in front of a city.

This city was incredibly vast, even larger than Youdu, but it lacked Youdu's rigid class divisions. The city walls were inscribed with many obscure array patterns, all ancient and extraordinary.

"Tianfu Shen Chao?" Ye Chen glanced at the four large characters on the city wall and paused.

"What's the delay? Let's go in."

"So, there's a Tianfu Shen Chao in Da Chu, and now there's one here too." Ye Chen scratched his head, looking puzzled.

"See that? That stone statue is the legendary Zhun Di of Wangu City." As soon as they entered, Yan Laodao pointed to one side. A towering stone statue stood there, like a monarch surveying the world. The sculptor must have poured immense effort into it, rendering it lifelike.

"It's truly impressive." Ye Chen looked up, his gaze lost in the swirling clouds.

"Hmm?" When he saw the statue's face, Ye Chen's body trembled. "Donghuang?"

"You know about it?" Yan Laodao was surprised. "Didn't you say you'd never been to Wangu City?"

"It's actually Donghuang." Ye Chen was thrilled. He had never met Donghuang in person, but he had seen a statue of him in Da Chu's Dongling Ancient Abyss, identical to this one. That imperial aura was unmistakable.

"No wonder the city is called Tianfu Shen Chao." Ye Chen laughed with a sense of history. "Through the long years, our predecessors haven't forgotten Da Chu."

"It's just a stone statue—do you really need to get this excited?" Yan Laodao looked at Ye Chen as if he were a fool.

"I have to admit, I got a bit carried away." Ye Chen chuckled. It was mainly because he hadn't expected to see a statue of a Da Chu emperor here, or that the legendary Zhun Di of Wangu City was Donghuang. It didn't surprise him at all that Donghuang, who had caused such a stir in Da Chu, had cultivated to Zhun Di in the myriad realms of the heavens.

"Huh? Is that the Shen Zi of Tianfu Shen Chao?" Suddenly, exclamations erupted from all around.

"He's only two hundred years old, and Hua Tiandu has already reached the Huang Jing realm."

"What a monstrous talent."

"The Xuan Lei Shen Ti is truly dominant."

"No wonder they say Tianfu Shen Chao produces talents." Even Yan Laodao beside him sighed in admiration.

Hearing this, Ye Chen turned his gaze from the Donghuang statue and looked in that direction.

There, a young man in purple robes with silver hair flew by, wearing cloud-chasing boots and a purple cloud robe. His eyes were like stars, his hair like a silver waterfall, his entire body radiating immortal light, dazzling and majestic, like a god-king.

"The Shen Zi of Tianfu Shen Chao," Ye Chen murmured. "I wonder, in the same realm, how would you compare to Zhou Tianyi?"

"The auction is tomorrow, so let's find an inn first."

"You go ahead; I'll wander around a bit." Ye Chen waved his hand, no longer watching Hua Tiandu, and disappeared into the crowd.

"Remember, don't cause any trouble."

"Got it," Ye Chen replied, his eyes already scanning the stalls on both sides, hoping to find some secret treasures. Don't underestimate these roadside stalls—many treasures are found here.

"Young friend, this magical weapon is quite extraordinary. If you're interested, I can sell it to you at a discount."

"Senior, do you have a Xing Kong Tu?"

"Of course not."

"Then, do you have any Zhun Sheng weapons?" Ye Chen asked with a smile.

"Zhun Sheng weapons?" The stall owner was stunned and looked Ye Chen up and down as if he were a fool. "Zhun Sheng weapons are incredibly precious. Would Zhun Sheng sell their life-bound weapons just because they're full?"

"I'm just asking." Ye Chen coughed awkwardly and walked away.

"Insane." Even after walking far, Ye Chen could still faintly hear the stall owner's angry muttering.

He completely ignored it, his eyes still sweeping over the stalls on both sides, especially the magical weapons. He was indeed looking for Zhun Sheng weapons to take back and let his Hun Dun Shen Ding absorb.

The Hun Dun Shen Ding was his life-bound weapon—powerful, yes, but its advancement was too slow.

Along the way, it had swallowed many weapons, including two Zhun Sheng ones, but it was far from satisfied.

To advance the Hun Dun Ding, besides raising his own cultivation, he needed to constantly feed it weapons, and they had to be of a high level—at least Huang Jing weapons. Lower-level ones were useless no matter how many he fed it.

As he went along, Ye Chen didn't see anyone selling Zhun Sheng weapons, let alone Sheng weapons.

Helpless, he lowered his standards and started buying Huang Jing weapons one after another.

Compared to Zhun Sheng and Sheng weapons, Huang Jing weapons were common, and he found some at almost every stall or shop.

Ye Chen wasn't stingy with money; whenever he saw one, he bought it without hesitation.

For this trip, he had brought plenty of Yuan Shi from Youdu—ninety million worth—which was more than enough for his spending, leaving the stall owners and shopkeepers stunned. They had never seen anyone spend so lavishly.

Here, Ye Chen picked up another Huang Jing weapon. By now, he had bought quite a few along the way.

What disappointed him was that he still hadn't found any Zhun Sheng weapons, Sheng weapons, or those incredibly rare Xing Kong Tu.

Hmm?

As he walked, Ye Chen's eyes lit up, and he stopped at a stall.
