In the dimly lit room, Wang Wei sat by the window, staring at the rain pouring outside. The storm had been raging for hours, turning the streets of Beijing into a river of mud. He sighed deeply, his mind wandering back to the events of the previous day.
"Ge, why do you always look so worried?" asked his younger sister, Li Mei, as she entered the room with a cup of tea.
Wang Wei turned to her, forcing a smile. "It's nothing, Mei. Just the usual work pressures at the office."
Li Mei set the cup down on the table and sat beside him. "You need to take a break. Remember what Laozi said about finding peace in simplicity?"
He nodded, but his thoughts were elsewhere. The project at Taishan Corporation was falling behind schedule, and his boss, Zhang Ming, had been relentless in his demands.
Later that evening, as the rain subsided, Wang Wei decided to go for a walk. The air was fresh, carrying the scent of wet earth and blooming jasmine. Passing by the ancient temple, he paused to listen to the monks chanting inside.
One monk, noticing him, stepped out and bowed."Ni hao, traveler. Seeking enlightenment?"
Wang Wei replied,"Perhaps, Shifu. Life's paths are full of twists."
The monk smiled wisely."Follow your xin, and the way will reveal itself."
