Chapter 955: Ten Thousand People

Qi Xia looked up and saw the sand condensing into stone, forming a continuous range of small mountains across the entire street.

Qi Xia knew that what Tian Long said was true; if he unleashed his full power, not to mention in the dream realm, even in Zhong Yan Zhi Di, no one could survive. Besides Yuan Wu, he also possessed Li Xi and Qiao Wu. Given enough time, he could even transform the sand in the sky into weapons.

This was a bizarre spectacle that no human could ever witness. Even in Zhong Yan Zhi Di, where everyone could wield a portion of “immortal arts,” it was hard to imagine a range of small mountains gathering in the sky.

The good news was that Tian Long probably still had some reserves; he couldn’t afford to go all in within his own dream realm. The last time Tian Long entered here and disintegrated the entire city, Qing Long had said he had depleted his vital energy. If Tian Long pushed himself to the limit now, his recovery time would be even longer upon waking.

But this terrifying scene… how could it be countered? As the small mountains crashed down onto the city, regardless of how much vital energy Tian Long lost, Qi Xia’s inner world would suffer massive damage. The crack from last time had already left him dazed for a day; if the entire street were destroyed…

“I… haven’t I anticipated this scene?”

Qi Xia closed his eyes again, his mind racing through memories, but he felt as though his recollections were stretching out horizontally, with strange scenes flooding in. Searching for a way to counter Tian Long’s move in such a vast array of memories…

It was like finding a single pine needle in a vast pine forest.

Yet, for Qi Xia, this was no great challenge.

“There it is… that’s the one.”

He opened his eyes and said softly, “I’ve said it before… this isn’t just a city; it’s another battlefield beyond Zhong Yan Zhi Di.”

Qi Xia walked to the window and opened it. In the next second, yellowish-white bones began to spread across the windowsill. The bones, still bearing flesh, formed a staircase suspended in the air. Qi Xia stepped onto it, climbing step by step toward Tian Long, as if he had abandoned the entire street.

Seeing Qi Xia ascending on the ladder of clinging flesh and blood, Tian Long’s only mouth curled into a smile.

“Look at the path under your feet and the sky above… where did I go wrong in calling you an evil god?”

After speaking, he floated forward a few more meters and asked, “And look at where you live and your terrifying pupils… where’s the mistake in calling you an evil god?”

“Ha…” Qi Xia laughed along. “Tian Long, have you forgotten… you don’t even have a face in front of me, yet you call me an evil god?”

“Oh…?” Tian Long paused slightly, reaching up to touch his flat face. “You only called me an ‘ugly monster’ before, but you never realized I don’t even deserve a face.”

“You’re not the only one here without a face.” Qi Xia continued. “You treat ordinary people like ants, yet you don’t realize you’re just one among a swarm of insects here.”

“Interesting.” Tian Long said, “So, you’re saying I’m no different from those motionless people below?”

“There is a difference.” Qi Xia replied with a smile. “You just have one extra mouth that can talk.”

“In that case, Bai Yang.” Tian Long waved his hands. “Let me show you whether the difference between me and those ordinary people is as simple as ‘having an extra mouth.’”

With that, Tian Long suddenly swung his hands downward.

The mountains in the sky instantly began showering down sand, and a massive pressure descended from above, as if even the air was fleeing this space rapidly.

“Tian Long… you can’t destroy this place.” Qi Xia gritted his teeth and said, “Because I’m never alone.”

Qi Xia suddenly shook his hands and raised them high, as if using his human body to brace against the enormous mountain peak. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead.

In the next second, something happened that Tian Long could never have anticipated.

The entire city began to shake violently. Then, every person on the street swayed and suddenly soared into the air. Upon closer inspection, each one had a slender white bone lifting them up, their bodies blooming like flowers on the bone stems.

At first, only ten or a hundred rose up, but soon it was thousands, then tens of thousands.

All the faceless people in the city seemed to rise at once, lifting their hands toward the massive mountain peak.

The mountain plummeted rapidly, and the first faceless people to reach it were smashed to pieces on impact, leaving only the bones beneath them to momentarily shake the mountain before shattering and falling with the mangled bodies.

Despite the horror, the remaining faceless people showed no sign of stopping, continuing to collide with it under the pull of the bones.

The mountain’s descent slowed for a brief moment.

Until one faceless person reached the mountain without being shattered and raised their hands, holding it up firmly.

Then, more and more faceless people safely ascended to the base of the mountain and raised their hands.

Soon, it was thousands, then tens of thousands.

Without hesitation, they used every ounce of strength to halt the falling stone mountain.

Countless massive bones stood like a forest throughout the city, turning the place into a forest of bones.

“Tian Long… do you see?” Qi Xia said, watching the scattering pebbles in the sky. “As long as everyone here rises up without fear, even a ‘god’ can be defied.”

Tian Long’s face stared silently at the mountain halting in the sky and said slowly, “Is this your way of telling me the outcome of Tao Yuan?”

“This is the inevitable end. If all the people here had united from the very first day, a true evil god like you would have been pulled down from your pedestal long ago.”

“You once led the crowd against me seventy years ago.” Tian Long said, “Yet you still failed. Bai Yang… I knew you couldn’t succeed, so I didn’t even bother remembering your name. Are you planning to try again after seventy years?”

“You’re wrong.” Qi Xia replied, “Tian Long… I didn’t fail.”

“Didn’t fail…? Ha!” Tian Long laughed loudly. “You’ve fallen before me time and again, and you still claim you ‘didn’t fail.’”

“You think I failed, but the truth is, I realized back then that I ‘couldn’t win,’ so I chose to give up.” Qi Xia said.

Tian Long fell silent for a few seconds before asking, “So, you’re saying… you think you ‘can win’ now?”

“That’s right.” Qi Xia’s gaze was unyieldingly firm as he stared coldly at Tian Long.
