Chapter 530: Reversal

Yu Nian'an was terrified by Qi Xia's appearance.

"Ah…?"

"You'll stand on that blood-soaked land and wait for me, won't you?!" Qi Xia wailed. "You'll wait for me in that hell on earth, won't you?! You'll wait beside the mountain of corpses, won't you?! How can I escape from there?! How on earth can I see you?!"

"Xia… you…" Her lips trembled, and she didn't know what to say.

"An… do you have anything else to say to me?!" Qi Xia's tears flowed uncontrollably, the intense pain stabbing into his heart like sharp knives. "I'm waking up! I'm about to wake up!! I want to hear you speak… Can you talk to me more? Anything at all… I just want to be with you right now… Because as soon as I open my eyes, it's hell on earth!"

"But I'm right here…" Yu Nian'an's eyes turned red. "Xia, what's suddenly gotten into you? You're scaring me… Haven't we always been fine?"

"I lost! I'm going to lose!" Qi Xia shouted in despair. "An! They took you away from me! I thought I could escape from hell and go back to living like before… But I was wrong. Now I have to fight with all my strength just to dream of seeing you… For this one glimpse, I've been struggling in hell for decades!! But I'm about to believe it!!"

"Believe… what?"

"I'm about to believe that you don't even exist!" Qi Xia's whole body shook as he reached out and grabbed Yu Nian'an's arm. "All the answers lead to this path!! Tell me what to do?!"

Qi Xia's eyes revealed a look of complete shattered faith; he seemed utterly desperate about everything.

"I… don't exist?" Yu Nian'an smiled through her tears. "Xia, do you know? There are many paths in this world…"

Boom!!

Qi Xia jumped at the sudden loud noise and turned to look out the window.

The sky outside was cracking open, sprinkling down specks of starlight.

Before he could say anything, he suddenly furrowed his brow.

He noticed that what Yu Nian'an was saying today was different from before.

This line, which he had heard countless times, now had an extra word.

"An… what do you mean by 'this world's 'Dao' paths are many'?" Qi Xia asked with trembling lips. "Before, it was just 'paths,' wasn't it?"

"Xia, do you know?" Yu Nian'an's eyes gradually became lifeless, and she only repeated, "This world's paths are many, and each…"

Qi Xia felt a surge of fear and quickly let go of Yu Nian'an's arm, stumbling back several steps.

"By the way, do you know?" Another voice echoed in Qi Xia's ear—it was a man's voice he had never heard before.

He looked around frantically, but there was no one nearby. In this empty little room, there was only him and Yu Nian'an.

Qi Xia glanced out the window again; the cracks were growing larger, and the sun in the sky was shrinking.

"What… what is this?!" Qi Xia shook his head, feeling everything becoming chaotic.

"Xia, do you know?"

"By the way, do you know?"

A male and female voice rang out simultaneously in his ears, making the hair on Qi Xia's body stand on end, as if some long-forgotten thing was being awakened.

"This world's paths are many…"

"Dao Fa San Qian Liu Bai Men…"

The two voices merged and collided in Qi Xia's mind, leaving him unable to think, while the cracks in the sky grew bigger, echoing with sounds of the earth shattering.

"And each person has their own…"

"And everyone holds their own Miao root…"

Hearing these two sentences at the same time, Qi Xia felt as if he had encountered something extremely terrifying. He grew ice-cold from head to toe, but he had no idea where this terror came from—it just lingered around him relentlessly.

Who is it?

What are they saying?

"Xia, do you know? This world's paths are many, and each person has their own."

"By the way, do you know? Dao Fa San Qian Liu Bai Men, and everyone holds their own Miao root."

Qi Xia kept backing away until he bumped into the door. The Yu Nian'an in front of him had completely lost her human-like appearance and was just repeating the words like a recording.

Every time she spoke, another man's voice appeared in Qi Xia's ear.

These two voices were like curses, swirling endlessly in his mind.

"What is 'Dao Fa San Qian Liu Bai Men'…?" Qi Xia found it hard to comprehend. "Who are you?!"

Countless memory fragments were crashing wildly in Qi Xia's mind.

Ren Long's voice echoed in his ears: "As long as you can collect three thousand six hundred 'Dao'…"

Then Bai Hu's aged voice followed: "What is 'Dao'… Three thousand six hundred? I see… So he still remembers the master's words…"

Dao Fa San Qian Liu Bai Men, everyone holds their own Miao root.

I want you to collect three thousand six hundred 'Dao'.

This world's paths are many.

Qi Xia had only one thought now—he had to escape.

If he stayed here any longer, he would go mad.

Shaking all over, he turned and opened the door, finding a long corridor outside, with wooden doors on both sides.

"Xia…"

"By the way…"

"This world's paths are many…"

"Dao Fa San Qian Liu Bai Men…"

Stop it…

Qi Xia screamed in his mind: "Stop it… Stop saying it…"

"And each person has their own path."

"And everyone holds their own Miao root."

He ran down the corridor, the old wooden floor creaking under his feet, and the doors on both sides opening one by one.

"Stop saying it…" Qi Xia shouted tremblingly. "What are you trying to do…?"

"And each person has their own path…"

"And everyone holds their own Miao root…"

"Shut up!!"

Qi Xia yelled, trying to cover his ears, but he suddenly felt thick fur all around them.

"What…?"

He slowly stopped and looked down in disbelief at his hands covered in white fur, his mind going blank again.

"I am…"

"Bai Yang brother…"

A childish voice came from behind, and Qi Xia swallowed hard before turning around very slowly.

There stood a decayed, blackened corpse. In its hand, it held several Dao.

"Bai Yang brother…" The corpse slowly raised its hand toward Qi Xia.

Qi Xia didn't find the corpse terrifying; instead, a deep sense of guilt crashed into his heart like a train.

"Shu…?" he blurted out involuntarily.

In the next second, the corpse's barely recognizable features twisted, and something like a mouth opened.

"Bai Yang brother, you really didn't lie to me." The corpse kept laughing. "The next time you see me… no matter what I've become, you'll recognize me, won't you…?"
