Chapter 1269: The Assault of Belief

Over a hundred Lüyi shot up from the ground like meteors, charging toward Tianniu in the mid-air.

They didn't have precise coordinates, so they simply leaped high with arms outstretched, as if relying on luck alone. Still, the sight startled Tianniu badly.

She shifted her position, carrying the massive Men and dodging around in the air.

Precisely because the Lüyi's assault was completely unpredictable, Tianniu couldn't anticipate their paths. After several dodges, one Lüyi suddenly brushed against her arm.

That Lüyi didn't have time to grab her and only managed to leave a wound with its sharp, elongated nails.

Then, the Lüyi scattered upon landing, like insects dispersing or pieces being reset on a board.

They maintained a certain distance from one another, never touching.

Tianniu clutched her arm and fled in panic to the side, but the others gave her no time to recover, with attacks coming in relentless waves.

The numerous Lüyi surged like a real insect swarm, leaping and roaring past like ocean waves.

Whether Tianniu was on the ground or in the air, a large group of Lüyi would fly at her.

Although she couldn't figure out how this army operated, it clearly had something to do with those strange stones. Whenever stones of various sizes landed, nearby Lüyi would leap up. But the stones weren't falling in her direction—how were the Lüyi determining their positions?

As powerful as Tianniu, a Tianji level being, was, her Xinnian faltered in this situation. Her first instinct was that her Yinni had been dispelled.

Fortunately, she had been navigating this place for decades and knew what doubting her Xianfa meant. She had to interrupt her thoughts repeatedly and keep concealing her form.

Regaining her composure, she fixed her gaze on Laosun, realizing the primary target now was to kill the one who could summon the stones.

As long as no new stones appeared in the area, the Lüyi's offensive should theoretically be affected—this seemed to be their way of communicating.

After landing, she crouched low and slowly approached the man who summoned the stones. The group standing together looked somewhat bewildered, their backs turned to her, as if they'd temporarily lost their sight.

Tianniu sensed this was one of her rare opportunities. She didn't know how to ultimately win the fight, but taking out that man first couldn't be wrong.

Even as she reached a position three steps behind Laosun, he and his companions were still staring blankly at the sky, searching for Tianniu's trace.

Just as Tianniu extended her hand from behind, ready to snap Laosun's neck, she suddenly felt someone place a hand on her shoulder.

……?!

Tianniu trembled all over and whipped around to see a fierce-looking Heiyang standing behind her.

"You must have forgotten... your final opponent is me?"

With those words, Laosun and his group quickly turned and retreated, as if they had anticipated everything.

Heiyang stepped forward at that moment and swung his fist, landing a solid blow on Tianniu's throat from the side, sending her flying.

A massive thud echoed as Tianniu soared through the air, her Xinnian completely collapsing. As someone with Yinni, not only had she been seen, but she had also been struck and sent flying. Even the firmest Xinnian couldn't help but doubt itself now.

Her form instantly became visible, and she rolled across the ground for a while before coming to a stop, the heavy blow to her neck leaving her struggling to breathe.

Only then did everyone truly see Tianniu's appearance. She was a solidly built woman, her muscles not as pronounced as Xiaoxiao's but still far superior to an average person's.

The Men in Tianniu's hand also fell beside her. Everyone turned their attention to that Men, which was much larger than a typical door to allow thousands of Lüyi to pass through. It was made entirely of scrap iron and weighed a considerable amount.

Tongyi noticed the Men had become visible and glanced back at Laodeng and the others, signaling them before circling around from the side toward the Men.

Tianniu struggled to her feet and looked toward where Heiyang stood, noticing ripples forming in layers beneath his feet, as if he were standing on water.

But how could the solid ground suddenly turn into water?

Was that how her position had been exposed? It seemed they had prepared this ground trap all along, just waiting for her to fall into it.

Heiyang took another step forward, stirring more ripples under his feet. Yet these ripples were eerily quiet, not like ordinary water but as if the ground had been "liquefied."

"You've finally shown yourself." Heiyang clenched his fist and advanced. "Is killing from the shadows that entertaining?"

As Tianniu opened her mouth to speak, she suddenly saw a multitude of stone spikes appearing above her head. She tried to move her feet to dodge, only to find her hands and feet completely immobilized.

"Damn..."

The stone spikes plummeted down, grazing Tianniu and inflicting countless wounds. However, as a Tianji, her physical resilience prevented any fatal injuries.

Immediately after, a barrage of bizarre Huixiang concentrated on her, making her feel as if something had gripped her heart.

At the same time, Heiyang leaped forward with a full-force strike, aiming another punch at Tianniu's chest.

Tianniu knew Heiyang's tactics—he always targeted vital points. Taking this hit would likely be the end for her.

Thinking quickly, she widened her eyes, opened her mouth, and let out a piercing scream.

"Ah—!"

The enormous sound exploded across the square, causing Yanzhichun and Laosun to feel intense pain in their eardrums. The various Huixiang weighing down on Tianniu vanished in large numbers. Unable to evade Heiyang's attack in time, she hurriedly countered with a punch of her own.

Heiyang couldn't dodge either, and the two struck each other's chests with full force, sending them flying in opposite directions. Blood rained down from the sky, but no one could tell whose it was.

"Cough..." Heiyang spat out a mouthful of blood after landing, while Tianniu rolled on the ground for a few seconds before vanishing once more.

Sushan forced her eyes open, wiping the blood from her face repeatedly. She felt her normal vision fading, able to see only the glowing outlines of everyone.

Yanzhichun seized the moment to approach and check on Heiyang, her expression full of worry. Heiyang's body was covered in wounds, with many bones broken—anyone enduring such an assault should have been done for.

"Heiyang..." Yanzhichun pressed her hand against the bleeding wound on his head. "Rest for now... Our strategy is almost successful."

"Help me up..." Heiyang gritted his teeth and said, "I'm in a hurry... I still have a tiger to kill. I can't die yet."

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! Wishing all readers who see this message that their wishes come true and they are happy every day. I have heard the Huixiang of getting rich.
