Chapter 1191: A Shallow Ripple

Di Zhu slowly stood up from the ground and said, "The feeling I got when I touched him was different from touching anyone else..."

"How so?" Zhou Mo asked.

"It felt very 'distant'..." Di Zhu replied.

"Distant?" Zhou Mo frowned at the word. "I wanted to ask you about that earlier... Why 'distant'?"

"How should I describe this feeling..." Di Zhu lowered his head to look at his hands, where his long nails had vanished, replaced by Luo Shi Yi's hand. "It's like..."

Di Zhu looked up toward the distant Zhu Que and said, "It's like touching fruit through a plastic bag—I can tell what's an apple and what's a banana. But the 'Hui Xiang' from Zhu Que feels like touching an apple through a cloth bag. I have a rough idea it's an apple, but it's hard to confirm. As for the 'distant' part... it's because I sense there's something else in that bag besides the apple and banana, but I can't feel it."

"Tsk... that's damn abstract." Zhou Mo said, sweating coldly. "So, what do we do now... with that thing..."

"It's probably 'Kui Lei' or 'Nuo Yi'," Qian Wu said. "Otherwise, there's no way to explain why he's flying in the sky. You can't seriously tell me 'Zhu Que' can naturally fly, right?"

"You're saying..." Zhou Mo cautiously scanned the surroundings, "that the current Zhu Que is a 'Kui Lei'...? That he's being controlled by someone else's 'Hui Xiang'? Does that make sense?"

The group had seen 'Kui Lei' before, but never one like Zhu Que, who could talk, think, and even show expressions.

Li Jing Guan, Su Shan, and Bai Jiu took this opportunity to gather around Zhou Mo, forming a makeshift think tank.

Li Jing Guan and Su Shan held up the heart in their hands to signal Qian Wu.

Everyone immediately smelled the rotten odor coming from the heart, confirming that Zhu Que's body was far from normal.

No wonder the blood flowing from Zhu Que was as thick and sticky as oil—it was clearly in a state of long-term death.

"'Kui Lei' that can use 'Hui Xiang'..." Qian Wu said, "That means Zhu Que is a 'Kui Lei' with 'Hui Xiang'. The person controlling him handles the 'Kui Lei', while Zhu Que himself manages the rest of the 'Hui Xiang'."

After speaking, Qian Wu turned to Su Shan. "If the 'Kui Lei' master is nearby controlling it, you're probably the only one who can find them..."

"Got it!" Su Shan nodded, widening her eyes to scan the surroundings, while Qian Wu tried to move forward to examine Zhu Que's structure.

At that moment, Zhu Que was like a kite with its string cut, wildly swaying in the air, his body bobbing up and down like a bird.

"His resolve is unstable," Di Zhu said. "Even 'Duo Xin Po' is disrupted now. This is a prime chance to take him out. Whether he's a 'Kui Lei' or not, smashing him to pieces will end it."

Zhou Mo gazed into the distance, knowing they had a general plan, but the 'Cat' still lacked its strongest weapon. Without it appearing, how could they destroy Zhu Que?

"Song Qi, you little brat, are you lost?" Zhou Mo shouted.

"Shi Jiu!" Qian Wu called out as he ran forward, "'Duo Xin Po' has been reset—figure something out!"

Yun Shi Jiu paused briefly upon hearing this, quickly got up from the ground, and dashed toward Zhu Que.

As 'Jian Mo', he was clearly the biggest counter to 'Duo Xin Po', but this battle plan had gone wrong. Before he arrived, almost all the 'Cat' members had heard Zhu Que's voice.

Watching Zhu Que darting up and down, Yun Shi Jiu couldn't think of how to use 'Jian Mo' right away. After all, his 'Jian Mo' only created a space of absolute silence, and it would fail if Zhu Que stepped out of it.

Seeing Zhu Que about to speak, Yun Shi Jiu acted on impulse. He pulled out a dagger and stabbed his own ears, then expanded a small 'Jian Mo' around himself before lunging forward, clinging to Zhu Que's back like a backpack.

"You..." Zhu Que turned his head to look at Yun Shi Jiu. "How dare you... Kids these days..."

To outsiders, Zhu Que's mouth moved, but no sound came out at all.

Yun Shi Jiu clasped his hands together and clamped his legs tightly around Zhu Que. As long as he was alive, Zhu Que's voice wouldn't escape.

Zhu Que hadn't expected to be touched so closely, throwing his resolve into chaos. He kept reaching back to grab at Yun Shi Jiu's hair, forcing Yun Shi Jiu to awkwardly dodge left and right behind him.

"This guy and Xuan Wu are no different..." Luo Shi Yi muttered beside Zhou Mo. "No heart and still alive... These 'Shen Shou' are all insane."

With Zhu Que restrained, the group gritted their teeth and ignored Yun Shi Jiu's fate, unleashing all their attacks. Both Zhu Que and Yun Shi Jiu were soon covered in wounds.

Their expressions were grotesquely twisted, yet neither made a sound.

Su Shan, sweating profusely, scanned the area, her face growing hot and damp, but she saw no one nearby. Whoever could control such a powerful 'Kui Lei' should have 'Bo Wen' visible through any walls, yet everything was eerily quiet.

After checking the surroundings, she looked back at Zhu Que.

Besides 'Yue Qian', 'Duo Xin Po', and 'Hun Qian', Zhu Que indeed had a very faint 'Kui Lei'.

This 'Kui Lei' was even shallower than 'Hun Qian'—so subtle that it was nearly invisible unless she focused hard.

All those 'Bo Wen' were clustered at Zhu Que's throat. So, who was controlling Zhu Que? Or was Zhu Que controlling someone else?

Su Shan's eyes started to sting. She touched her cheek, and her fingertips came away bloody.

"Hey..." Zhou Mo looked at her, hesitating slightly. "Tsk, you..."

"I'm fine, just an old issue." Su Shan said. "Zhou Mo, there's no one around here... It's hard to believe anyone's controlling Zhu Que."

"What...?!"

Zhu Que reached out and flung the people in front of him away, then soared into the sky with Yun Shi Jiu, slamming his back hard into the ground. Yun Shi Jiu instantly spat out a mouthful of blood, but his hands and feet still gripped tightly.

"Naughty child... You really want to die..." Zhu Que snarled with veins bulging, then tried to use 'Duo Xin Po' to make the young man behind him mimic his movements.

But Yun Shi Jiu had already deafened his own ears and was now barely hanging on, sustained only by his final shred of will to not let go.

"No problem..." Zhu Que said. "Even without 'Duo Xin Po'... I can still kill all of you..."
