"Hello, is the leader here?"
Xiao Ran hadn't expected the person in front of her to look so young. For a moment, she couldn't confirm his identity and could only try to strike up a conversation.
But he didn't seem interested in responding.
Qing Long sighed impatiently, closing his eyes slightly and pressing his slender fingers firmly against his temples. He thought to himself that on this "train," the "Sheng Xiao" who were neither dead nor alive were becoming more numerous.
Even though they knew he was here, someone still dared to push the door open and shout.
No matter if he was "Ren Ji" or "Di Ji," for making such a foolish mistake, all the "Sheng Xiao" connected to her were destined to die today.
Yet when he raised his head to look at the figure before him, his thoughts stalled a bit.
Because the person who had pushed the door open and started yelling wasn't some "Sheng Xiao" at all, but a "Can Yu Zhe" without even a mask.
Due to the vast difference in their levels, Qing Long didn't know what to say for a moment and simply stared at Xiao Ran with bloodshot eyes.
"Why aren't you speaking?" Xiao Ran asked. "Are you Tian Long...?"
As soon as Xiao Ran finished speaking, her gaze was drawn to a dark object on the table. It looked like a football, but it was completely black, and from the back, she couldn't make out what it was.
"Or... Qing Long?" Xiao Ran asked again, staring at the black shadow on the table.
Qing Long rubbed his temples with his hand and said nothing. He just glanced at the door behind Xiao Ran and sensed the chaos outside.
Normally, only the "Ren Ji" area was this disorderly because they retained the strongest "human essence."
Once they reached "Di Ji," the "Sheng Xiao" became much more subdued. After passing through the elaborate trials he had set up, they rarely displayed emotions like excitement or sorrow.
But now, he was so far removed from "Ren Ji," so why was it still so noisy?
"Why is it so dark in this room?" Xiao Ran frowned and stepped forward. "Are you the one in charge here?"
She remembered that the black sheep had described Qing Long as gentle, elegant, and approachable, but the man before her hadn't said a word since she entered, which clearly didn't match that description. If he wasn't Tian Long, then he must be some kind of secretary or assistant.
Qing Long stared at Xiao Ran and slowly tilted his body, propping up his cheek with one hand.
He wondered if he had been too lax in managing this place...
Or maybe he just hadn't killed enough people?
Now, a "Can Yu Zhe" was boldly walking in and pointing fingers at him, leaving Qing Long's mind in turmoil and his murderous impulses impossible to suppress.
There were so many "Sheng Xiao" in the corridor outside, and crowds of "Tian Ji" on both sides... yet no one had stopped her. What an absurd situation?
But this woman... why did she seem familiar, as if he had seen her somewhere before?
"Hey, hey..." Xiao Ran reached out and knocked on the table. "You look quite lively, so why are you just standing there in a daze? Is there anyone in charge?"
After Xiao Ran spoke, she glanced over and spotted another wooden door on the opposite side of the room.
That door looked far more luxurious than the one to this room. If there was any leader, they had to be in the room behind it.
"Never mind..." Xiao Ran dropped the faint smile on her face and ignored Qing Long, heading straight for the door of the "Che Tou." "If you don't want to talk, fine. When I see the leader, I'll definitely report your attitude."
As Xiao Ran drew closer to the final room step by step, Qing Long's expression grew darker: "Who told you to come find me?"
This was the first time Qing Long spoke, and his strange voice—sounding like both a man and a woman emerging from his throat, with identical tones and pitches—made Xiao Ran, who was about to knock, freeze in place.
She hesitated for a moment and slowly turned back. Before she even met Qing Long's gaze, she spotted the object in the center of the table.
What she had thought was a dark football was clearly a fresh human head that had just been severed.
Dark red blood was splattered across the table, dripping down the face, and in the dim light, it looked like spilled drink.
She hadn't been able to see the full picture from behind earlier, but now she was so terrified that she lost her voice.
And beside that gruesomely dead head, the man with his cheek resting on his hand was staring at her without any expression.
"You... you..." Even if Xiao Ran was slow on the uptake, she now realized the man in front of her was no ordinary person, and her tone softened immediately. "Are you Qing Long...?"
"Who told you that you could find me here?" Qing Long asked again.
Xiao Ran stared at the human head on the table, feeling the hairs on her back stand on end and her entire body turn cold.
"Qing... no..." Xiao Ran stammered, "I didn't mean to disturb you... but I really have something very important to report... so I went through so much trouble to come to the 'Che Tou'... I have no ill intentions..."
Qing Long slowly shifted his gaze away and looked at the table in front of him, saying softly: "Wipe it clean."
"Wipe... clean?" Xiao Ran stared at the head, unsure what he meant.
"The place you just knocked," Qing Long said again.
"Ah...? Oh..." Although Xiao Ran didn't fully understand, she went over to the spot on the table where she had knocked, extended her palm, and wiped it. She couldn't see where she had dirtied it; she just kept rubbing the surface.
After a short while, Xiao Ran looked up and forced a smile as she asked Qing Long: "Is this okay?"
Qing Long's face darkened even more: "Do you think... why I considered it unclean?"
"I..." Xiao Ran blinked, her mind completely blank.
"As a 'Chong Zi'... how dare you knock on my table?" Qing Long's tone remained flat, as if he were speaking to someone already dead.
Xiao Ran was shocked by this and hurried over to Qing Long's side, saying: "But I really have something very important to report to you... I'm doing this for your benefit, and I... I used to be a 'Sheng Xiao' too. It was just because of some communication errors that I lost my mask... We're on the same side!"
Qing Long didn't respond; he just sighed deeply. This woman was blurting out everything in her head, which only made him more irritated.
He reached out his hand, about to pierce through Xiao Ran's chest, when she shouted again:
"Qi Xia is leading the 'Can Yu Zhe' in a rebellion...!! I'm here specifically to report this to you—you have to believe me!"
