Chapter 1134: Ripple Within

Chapter 1134: Ripples Within

“Damn it…”

Ma Shier looked like he couldn't run anymore.

In order to lure the Xuanwu behind them into the "Mao" encirclement, he, along with Wu Shisan of "Zhi Kong" and Luo Shiyi of "Wang You," had been running almost nonstop, dragging her along.

Along the way, they heard chaotic explosions and fighting from the distant square and could only silently pray that Fu of "Ji Dao" would have the luck to snatch the giant bell from Baihu.

“Luo Shiyi… have we reached the ‘encirclement’ yet…” Ma Shier asked.

“Don’t… don’t talk… save your breath and just keep running…”

The marker on Xuanwu’s body kept emitting thick red smoke, signaling their location to all the nearby "Mao" members.

More and more people were converging toward the red smoke, but the time it was taking felt endless, making those leading Xuanwu on the run feel increasingly uneasy.

Fortunately, for some reason, Xuanwu seemed oddly compliant today, staying obediently behind them. Even though she had "Yue Qian," she never appeared beside them, only inching forward in segments.

During this time, she never used her "Tan Nang" to attack them, as if she were waiting for events to unfold.

They claimed they were leading Xuanwu into the "encirclement," but from her perspective, these people seemed to be wandering aimlessly, just circling around the cluster of low buildings. Her patience was wearing thin.

After looping through the low buildings a few more times, and seeing that the group still had no intention of leaving, Xuanwu sighed and used "Yue Qian" to instantly appear in front of them, blocking their path.

Luo Shiyi and the other two quickly stopped, gasping for air.

After all, Xuanwu could "Yue Qian," but the three of them had been running for their lives for over ten minutes.

“Why don’t you come kill me?”

Xuanwu’s ethereal voice drifted from her figure, but the three in front of her were just bent over, panting too hard to respond.

Luo Shiyi kept his head down and waved his hand back and forth. “Give us a moment to catch our breath… God, this is exhausting…”

“Come kill me,” Xuanwu said with an undeniable tone.

“Hold on…” Luo Shiyi finally steadied his breathing. “We can’t kill you right now. You have to wait until we reach the encirclement, then…”

“We’ve been going in circles—how can we reach the encirclement?”

Xuanwu was clearly puzzled, feeling like she was being tricked.

“We’re heading there now…” Luo Shiyi slowly lifted his head. “Even if it looks like we’re just going in circles, we’re almost there…”

“How bold.”

Xuanwu extended her sleek, black arm, clearly preparing to attack.

“I can allow you to kill me, but I won’t tolerate you wasting time. There are still many rules I need to protect, and many ways to die that I need to try.”

“Who the hell is wasting time…” Luo Shiyi shook his head. “We’ve come up with all these plans to lure you into the encirclement just to kill you, haven’t we?”

“Oh…?”

As the words fell, red signal flares suddenly shot up from the center of the low buildings in all directions.

Whoosh!

First one, then quickly a second and a third, until a total of eight flares burst into the sky, like tiny suns contrasting against the dark red heavens. The positions of these eight flares formed a perfect circle.

And Xuanwu was right at the center of that circle.

“The encirclement…” Xuanwu murmured. “So it’s not that I’m finding the encirclement—it’s the encirclement finding me.”

“How is that not being surrounded?” Luo Shiyi laughed. “Xuanwu… now we’re going to do everything we can to kill you…”

Familiar figures began appearing on the rooftops of the low buildings.

Song Qi, dressed in black, walked to the edge of the rooftop while pulling a hair tie from his wrist to bundle up his messy hair. Then, with a serious expression, he stared down below.

“Sixth Sister said this Xuanwu was unusual, but I didn’t expect it to be this off.”

From then on, members like Wang Ba, Bai Jiu, Jiang Shi, and others each led two or three people to appear on different low buildings. Except for Qian Wu, everyone from the "Mao" team up to rank twenty-one was present.

With Qian Wu and Zhou Liu absent, Song Qi was the highest-ranked one there.

Xuanwu slowly turned her body, scanning the people surrounding her, clearly sensing the impressive "Hui Xiang" emanating from them.

This was a jarring situation for Xuanwu—these people mostly didn’t seem insane, yet they exuded the aura of seasoned veterans. Their mastery of "Hui Xiang" couldn’t be called “powerful,” but rather “clever.”

They had accumulated vast combat experience, allowing each of them to use their "Hui Xiang" with perfect precision.

Xuanwu lowered her head again and saw several figures in black leather outfits scattered on the ground below.

It was clear the enemy had devised a strict plan to kill her, with some handling long-range support and others managing close-quarters combat.

After all, in her memory, she had never been surrounded by so many people radiating killing intent.

“So what now?” Xuanwu surveyed the crowd. “Do I attack first, or do you?”

Song Qi furrowed his brow as he looked down at the pitch-black Xuanwu. Although Zhou Liu had only briefly described her appearance, Song Qi knew many of their plans were no longer viable.

He turned to glance at the man and woman standing behind him, then asked the man, “Fourth Brother, you’re older than me—do you really not want to take command?”

Li Jingguan lit the cigarette in his mouth and exhaled a light puff of smoke. “I don’t know everyone’s abilities, so it’s better if you handle the command.”

“Alright,” Song Qi replied, then turned to Su Shan. “So… what’s the situation with Xuanwu right now?”

Su Shan stepped forward and reached the edge of the rooftop, looking down.

In an instant, her eyes became as radiant as gems, with a faint glow circling her pupils.

Everything her gaze touched began to change dramatically—they looked the same as before, but faint auras appeared out of nowhere.

She examined Xuanwu from top to bottom, and soon her face showed confusion.

“Can you still see the ‘eyes’?” Song Qi asked.

Su Shan sighed and continued squinting as she scanned Xuanwu, like a precise scanning device moving from head to toe.

“Forget about the ‘eyes’…” Su Shan said softly. “Even that strange thing… it’s hard for me to tell if she’s even a ‘person’ at all.”

“What do you mean?” Song Qi asked.

“She’s all ‘Bo Wen’…” Su Shan explained. “How can I describe this feeling… Normally, we see ‘Bo Wen’ on people, but now it’s like we’re barely seeing a person within the ‘Bo Wen’.”
