Chapter 162: Hidden
The small house wasn't very large. The young woman entered and saw a young man sitting in the room.
"I'm back," she said.
The young man turned his head, a gentle smile on his face.
"You're back," he replied.
"The master said you can go."
The young man nodded. "I've been waiting."
The young woman sat down opposite him. "Did you have any problems these past few days?"
"No problems."
"That's good."
They fell silent. After a while, the young woman spoke again.
"Where are you going?"
"To Jianfeng."
"Jianfeng?" The young woman's expression changed slightly. "Are you going to fight?"
"To kill someone."
The young woman didn't speak.
The young man smiled. "Don't worry. I'll come back."
The young woman looked at him. "When?"
"I don't know."
The young woman lowered her head.
"Don't worry," the young man said again.
The young woman still didn't speak.
The young man sighed softly. "Don't be sad."
The young woman raised her head, her eyes red. "How can I not be sad?"
The young man looked at her quietly.
"I've been waiting for you," the young woman whispered. "Waiting for you to come back."
The young man reached out and gently stroked her hair. "I will come back."
The young woman leaned her head into his hand.
"I believe you," she said softly.
The young man smiled. "That's good."
He stood up. "I'm going now."
The young woman also stood up. "I'll see you off."
The young man shook his head. "No need."
"Let me see you off," she insisted.
The young man hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
They walked out of the small house. The setting sun cast long shadows.
"Be careful," the young woman said.
"I will," the young man replied.
They walked to the entrance of the courtyard. The young man stopped.
"I'm leaving now," he said.
The young woman looked at him, her eyes filled with reluctance.
"Go," she said softly. "Come back safely."
The young man smiled and nodded. He turned and walked away.
The young woman watched him until his figure disappeared around the corner. She stood there for a long time, then slowly turned and walked back into the small house.
The room was empty. The young woman sat down in the chair the young man had been sitting in, her hand gently touching the armrest.
She stayed there for a long time, lost in thought.
Outside, the sky gradually darkened.
Inside the small house, the young woman remained still, waiting. Waiting for the return of the person who had just left.
