Chapter 23: Doctor-Patient

Twenty-third Chapter: Doctor and Patient

The old man remained silent for a while, observing Doctor Hua’s expression carefully. After a moment, he slowly said, "Please, Doctor, help me. I've always been healthy, but lately, I've been experiencing this strange ailment. It comes and goes, and when it’s here, it's truly unbearable."

Doctor Hua nodded, his expression calm and professional. "Please describe your symptoms in detail," he said. "Tell me everything, no matter how insignificant it seems."

The old man took a deep breath and began to recount his experience. He spoke of sudden dizziness, a tightening in his chest, and a peculiar sensation of coldness spreading through his limbs. He described how these episodes would strike without warning and leave him feeling weak and disoriented.

Doctor Hua listened intently, occasionally asking clarifying questions. He examined the old man carefully, checking his pulse and observing his complexion. His movements were precise and deliberate.

After the examination, Doctor Hua remained quiet for a long time, lost in thought. The old man watched him anxiously, his heart pounding in his chest. Finally, Doctor Hua looked up, his eyes meeting the old man’s.

"Your condition is unusual," he said, his voice low and measured. "It's not a common ailment. I need to do some further investigation before I can give you a proper diagnosis and treatment plan."

The old man’s face fell, but he nodded in understanding. "I understand, Doctor," he said. "Please do whatever is necessary. I just want to be well again."

Doctor Hua smiled faintly. "I will do my best," he assured him. "In the meantime, please follow my instructions carefully. Rest, avoid stress, and I will provide you with some preliminary medication to help manage your symptoms."

The old man thanked him profusely and left, his mind filled with a mix of hope and worry. Doctor Hua watched him go, his brow furrowed in concentration. He knew this case would be a challenge, but he was determined to find a cure.
