Chapter 2784: Night Treading the Snow

Chapter Eighteen: Night Trek Through Wind and Snow

The two of them stood in the hall, seemingly unaffected by the cold. After a moment, Bai Su asked, "What did the Master say to you?"

The young man hesitated for a moment, then replied, "He said... he said that no matter what happens, I should always remember what Master taught me. He also said to live well."

Bai Su nodded slightly. "Okay, I understand. You should go and prepare. It's getting late."

The young man looked at him and asked, "Elder Bai Su, are you leaving too?"

Bai Su didn't answer directly. Instead, he looked towards the entrance of the hall, where a fierce wind was blowing in, carrying snow and ice. The snow outside was already very deep.

The young man followed his gaze and remained silent.

Finally, Bai Su turned back and looked at him. His gaze was gentle. "You should go. It's cold. Don't catch a cold."

The young man hesitated for a moment, then lowered his head and said, "Elder Bai Su, you should also be careful."

Bai Su smiled faintly, nodded, and watched him leave.

After the young man left, Bai Su remained standing there for a long time. The wind and snow outside continued to rage, and the inside of the hall was equally cold. He finally turned and looked at the Master's room. The door was tightly closed, and there was no sound from within.

He slowly walked towards the door and stopped. He reached out a hand, but didn't knock. He just stood there, quietly, for a long time.

He finally lowered his hand and turned away.

He walked out of the hall, into the wind and snow. He didn't look back.

He walked through the courtyard, the snow crunching under his feet. The wind whipped at his clothes, but he didn't seem to notice. He just kept walking, towards the gate.

As he reached the gate, he paused for a moment, looking out at the vast expanse of snow. Then, he stepped through the gate and disappeared into the blizzard.

The wind and snow continued to fall, burying everything in a white blanket. The courtyard was empty, silent except for the howling wind. The Master's room remained dark and silent. The young man had also left, his footsteps covered by the snow.

It was a long night, filled with wind and snow.
