Chapter 1362: Peering at Yuheng

“Dragon God’s objective is the Jade Balance Star?” Jiang Wang queried, a note of disbelief in his voice.

Guan Yan responded, “After exhausting every possibility in my deductions, this is the only conclusion that stands.”

“This… this…” Jiang Wang still struggled to grasp the concept.

To take a star as one’s objective? A star suspended in the night sky, high above, illuminating myriad realms… A star.

“What do you believe a star to be?” Guan Yan pressed.

What *is* a star? Countless individuals hold myriad answers.

For the vast majority of cultivators, stars represent the distant celestial expanse, serving as the guiding beacons for the Starlight Holy Tower.

For those who practice the art of star divination, stars are the very foundation of their craft, connecting to the river of fate.

Should Jiang An An be asked, perhaps she would say they are a place from which she can gaze upon her parents…

Looking up at the endless night, the full celestial canopy twinkling. Humans are perpetually filled with such and such curiosity. (Remember this website address: www.yi-ding.com - the fastest update!)

How high must one leap, how long must one fly, to touch a star? What secrets lie within those seemingly infinitely distant orbs?

Yet, cultivators who have reached a certain realm of extraordinary attainment should understand that the distance between stars and the present world is not a matter of spatial separation. Each star reflects the myriad realms.

For example, the Senhai Source Realm lies within the illuminating range of the Jade Balance Star, exclusively bathed in its light. However, the Jade Balance Star does not solely illuminate the Senhai Source Realm; it simultaneously casts its radiance upon reality.

Consider the Floating Continent World, situated within the illuminating range of the Tian Shu Star, exclusively illuminated by it. Yet, Qing Huo Qi Ming once recounted legends of the Floating Continent – tales of a time when the blue sky above was filled with numerous stars, which then fell from the azure expanse into the dark void. In this descent, they pierced the earth, creating the earth caves. And the blue sky above, due to the stars’ fall, was left with only the solitary Tian Shu Star. From this legend, it can be inferred that the Floating Continent World was initially illuminated by multiple stars. Due to some event, only Tian Shu remained.

Conversely, in the Senhai Source Realm, no such tales are ever heard, as if only the single Jade Balance Star has ever graced the high heavens, eternal and unchanging. Of course, this could simply be because Jiang Wang spent too little time in the Senhai Source Realm to have encountered more legends…

Given the unique significance of the Jade Balance, the Senhai Source Realm is certainly special. But perhaps not exceptionally so. Even the Hidden Yuan World that Jiang Wang visited had only a single Hidden Star hanging in its sky.

It could be broadly stated that the entire Seven Stars Tower secret realm seems to transport participants to worlds uniquely illuminated by each of the seven stars… In terms of the richness of the world, the Floating Continent World is clearly grander than the Senhai Source Realm, which in turn far surpasses the Hidden Yuan World.

“Stars, to a certain extent, connect to the river of fate, and are also the beacons used to establish the position of the Starlight Holy Tower,” Jiang Wang stated. He made no effort to conceal the knowledge he possessed from Guan Yan, though he was keenly aware of the shallowness of his own understanding.

“Quite rare. You also have some grasp of the art of star divination. This will facilitate your understanding of stars,” Guan Yan remarked. “Stars are concretely existing, yet they do not concretely exist in any specific location. They are both captivating and ethereal. We find it exceedingly difficult to physically touch them in the material sense; typically, we can only touch starlight… How do you perceive the Star Tower?”

Jiang Wang contemplated the question seriously for a moment before replying, “The foundation for proclaiming one’s Dao.” With his current strength, he was naturally not content with merely erecting an ordinary Star Tower. His inner mansion, the first of its kind in ancient and modern times, if it were to establish a Starlight Holy Tower, it was imperative that it become the outer tower of his Dao path. Starlight tempering the body, drawing starlight for combat, anchoring one’s position – these were not what Jiang Wang valued most. What he valued was the light emitted by his Starlight Holy Tower throughout the vast universe, proclaiming *his* Dao! Thus, he understood the outer tower in this manner.

Guan Yan, of course, gleaned sufficient information from this answer and smiled with satisfaction, asking, “If the foundation for proclaiming your Dao were to shift from your Starlight Holy Tower to the stars of the universe, how would that be?”

A single stone stirred a thousand ripples! When cultivators respond to the power of the Star Tower, it is indeed very much like responding to the celestial stars. But who would truly mistake the Star Tower for a star? Who could even conceive of such a notion? Who would dare to think in such a way!

A cultivator’s personal Starlight Holy Tower and the true, illuminating, myriad-realms universe stars are two entirely incomparable entities. The former often dissipates with the cultivator’s demise. To this day, the only Star Tower Jiang Wang had encountered that could be described as “resilient” was the one Guan Yan had reclaimed. Even after Guan Yan’s “death,” it continued to drift stubbornly in the starry void… while the universe stars endure for ten thousand ages, indestructible and immortal. Traversing the long river of time, how many heroes have passed away? Yet the stars of today are still the stars of ten thousand ages ago!

Jiang Wang instantly understood why the Dragon God had taken the Jade Balance Star as Its objective! The Jade Balance Star is a truly existing star, illuminating myriad realms. If one could use this to proclaim their Dao, their Dao lineage would naturally spread throughout myriad realms! Even if the Dragon God unified the Senhai Source Realm, it would merely be the faith of a single realm. If It could control the Jade Balance Star, then there would be a chance to become the Dragon God of myriad realms!

But… could it truly be done? With Jiang Wang’s current cultivation and knowledge, he was utterly unable to comprehend or imagine how such a feat could be accomplished. Even after knowing the final objective and understanding many of the processes involved, he still could not reverse-deduce the underlying principle.

However, there was no doubt that the Dragon God had commenced Its plan as early as eight hundred years ago, and was advancing it with unwavering determination. And five hundred years ago, Grandmaster Guan Yan, through analyzing Its various arrangements, had reverse-deduced Its purpose! His own inner mansion, the first in history, perhaps could not be compared to the inner mansion realm of Guan Yan, who had descended to the Senhai Source Realm more than five hundred years prior… From this, one could infer that in ancient and modern times, countless prodigies remain hidden, unable to shine brightly due to various circumstances. The achievements of the Old Man of Heavenly Mansion were not necessarily truly insurmountable; perhaps it was simply that no one knew, no one passed down the name…

Of course, purely in terms of combat power, regardless of which inner mansion cultivator he faced, Jiang Wang, who had already reached the limit of inner mansion combat prowess, possessed the confidence to fight and win. This was a confidence forged through one victory after another. He was not invincible in the same realm from the beginning, but had steadily climbed step by step to reach his current point. He no longer doubted himself. He believed that within the historical river, there were certainly many inner mansion prodigies who possessed the strength to defeat him. But he also believed that in a life-and-death struggle to the bitter end, he would undoubtedly emerge victorious.

Nevertheless… he still could not comprehend the Dragon God’s layout. Nor did he know if Chong Xuan Sheng could understand… Zhao Xiao Wu? Jiang Wang couldn’t help but ponder.

Thus, he voiced his question aloud: “How is it to be achieved?”

Guan Yan explained, “Firstly, you need to understand one crucial point – stars possess their own will. This will may not be the thoughts and consciousness of a living being, but a form of grand existence difficult to specifically describe. It is akin to the will of the present world – are you familiar with the will of the present world?”

Jiang Wang, of course, was. Wasn’t it precisely due to the repulsion of the present world’s will that the White Bone Evil God was repeatedly troubled, and Zhuang Cheng Qian found an opportunity?

“I know a little,” Jiang Wang replied.

“At your age, and not one for extensive reading. To understand so much is quite remarkable,” Guan Yan complimented.

“Senior must not speak so casually,” Jiang Wang said, a hint of displeasure in his voice. “I am very fond of reading! I’ve been reading a lot recently!”

Guan Yan shot him a look. “I originally told you to go to the study to fetch my monk’s robe. You truly only took the robe and left, not even flipping open a single book… There were actually some of my cultivation insights there. I had originally intended them as a reward for you.”

“It was quite hurried at the time… far too hurried! I was in a rush to return home, not because I don’t enjoy reading.” Jiang Wang felt greatly embarrassed and hastily changed the subject. “Senior, how does the Dragon God intend to achieve Its objective? Please continue!”
