Chapter 1134: Nine Dragons Holding the Sun, Eternally Suppressing Mountains and Rivers

Should your heart be stirred by emotion, merely seek out the collection, and perusal shall be swift and convenient.

From the six great overlord nations of the realm, emperors descended their dharma images upon View River Terrace.

Each stood centered betwixt the two Six Harmonies stone pillars, as if, bound with the pillars, they upheld the very dome of heaven.

The one clad in the tripartite dragon robe of red, white, and blue spoke, his voice resonating: “Inherit the legacy of the Human Emperor, succeed the virtues of the ancient sages!”

His voice was grand, as though it pierced the veil between heaven and earth.

It echoed throughout View River Terrace, yet rolled far beyond, as though a great will was being proclaimed to the entire world.

“The time, Dao calendar three nine one nine, seventh month, eleventh day…”

The voice declared: “Jing!”

Another voice, impossibly majestic, as if it embodied the very laws governing heaven and earth, continued: “Qin!”

Then, from beside the Qin Emperor, a stern, powerful voice, like a charge of iron cavalry, a forest of spears and halberds, cried: “Jing!”

Following was a vast, boundless, lofty female voice, as though dwelling in the clouds: “Mu!”

Immediately after, a voice of such unparalleled nobility, as if born of supreme greatness: “Chu!”

Circling once, the final voice, deep as the sea and majestic as a mountain, encompassing all things, permitting no obstruction, echoed: “Qi!”

These six great voices, each speaking their own word, converged into a single resonant declaration—

“Upon this, suppress the Long River!”

These six great voices, hailing from the south of heaven and the north of earth, encompassing the Six Harmonies and the eight directions, came and went, rolling forth.

Great power descended.

The colossal dharma images of the six venerables, standing between heaven and earth, temporarily receded, and the “mirror curtain” surrounding the Six Harmonies pillars reappeared.

Through this mirror curtain, people beheld that section of the Yellow River, its waters turbulent and swift, roaring and rushing, where slowly, a great seal began to materialize.

This seal possessed six faces on its underside, representing the Six Harmonies.

Each face was carved with myriad miles of mountains and rivers, and the embroidered beauty of the human world.

Upon this seal rested nine dragons, their tails planted on the base, their bodies entwined, and their nine heads encircled a great sun.

The bottom face was carved with eight large Dao characters, which read—

“Nine dragons hold the sun, forever suppress mountains and rivers!”

This was the Nine Dragons Hold Sun Forever Suppress Mountains and Rivers Seal!

Legend held it to be a treasure with which the Human Emperor matched the Six Harmonies, using it to suppress the eight directions. This was but one of them!

And cultivators of ordinary skill could not perceive it at all. Even cultivators of the Divine Arrival realm could only vaguely sense—

From the East Domain, the South Domain, the West Domain, the North Domain, the Central Domain, from every place where Human Race footprints had trod, where human smoke curled…

Vaguely indistinct powers, gathering like starlight, accumulating from the small to the great, initially like a fine, flowing stream, then like a rushing river, and finally, vast and boundless!

That which was minute could be so grand.

That which was faint could be thus majestic.

Gathered were infinite, endless great powers, all surging towards View River Terrace.

Mountains and rivers, myriad people, heaven and earth as one heart.

This was the Human Path flood!

The Nine Dragons Hold Sun Forever Suppress Mountains and Rivers Seal grew ever clearer, the myriad miles of mountains and rivers carved on its six faces becoming increasingly vivid.

Under the manipulation of the six emperors’ great powers, this Nine Dragons Hold Sun Forever Suppress Mountains and Rivers Seal slowly pressed down.

“Ah! With the Long River as paper, with heaven and earth as the great seal…”

That year, the sacrificial text of that ancient Confucian sage seemed to resonate in the depths of one’s heart, echoing the sound of the Long River’s waves.

The Nine Dragons Hold Sun Forever Suppress Mountains and Rivers Seal thus pressed down.

It touched the stirring waves, and the stirring waves ceased; it sealed the shock waves, and the shock waves were flattened.

And it would suppress the Ancestral River again… for a period of at least ten years!

“…May the wind and rain be gentle, the mountains and rivers solid, heaven and earth peaceful, and the myriad people safe!”

Perhaps it was an illusion, but Jiang Wang seemed to hear a mournful cry.

One could verify it by divine sense; there was fundamentally no such thing as a "sound."

This cry was more like a resonance at the soul level.

Like beholding the falling autumn leaves and feeling a double sense of desolation.

Like the tremor of the entire Long River.

But this faint “wail,” too, gradually dissipated with the calming of the Yellow River’s waves.

Within the “mirror curtain,” one could see the water level rapidly dropping, one *zhang*, two *zhang*, three *zhang*…

Soon, the two ancient Dragon Son Town bridges once again stood like horizontal high cliffs.

The Long River became so gentle, so serene, as if it had merely turned over and fallen back into deep slumber.

And the water droplets on the ancient bridge’s surface were nowhere to be seen, vanished without a trace.

Within the viewing stands under heaven, the people fell into a state of profound emotion.

In that distant ancient era, whose details could no longer be verified, where did the Human Race find a foothold?

Darkness was as long as the years.

Throughout the long history, it was generation after generation of ancient sages who cut through thorns and hacked through waves; it was generation after generation of the Human Race who fought without rest with blood and sweat, only then transforming this “present world” into the “human world.”

Forever suppressing mountains and rivers did not come from some treasure of the Six Harmonies.

Standing between heaven and earth did not come from some pillar supporting the sky.

But from “people.”

From one by one, advancing successively, one by one sacrificing life and forgetting death—the “people.”

The single character for “people” already stands upon heaven and earth.

The “mirror curtain” surrounding them dissipated once again.

Those six great figures, standing between heaven and earth, reappeared once more.

Like six towering giants, they overlooked the grand gathering of Human Race heavenly prides within the Six Harmonies pillars.

This was the main event of the Yellow River Assembly, the peak gathering of the present world’s young heavenly prides.

Heavenly prides from various countries gathered here; who could make a name for themselves under heaven?

All the people sat in the viewing stands, holding their breath, awaiting the assembly’s commencement.

The red-faced Xian Nan Kui, fully clad in armor, stood below the “Jia” character martial stage, showing no intention to speak.

To host the main event of the Yellow River Assembly, even the commander of the Divine Strategy Army, Xian Nan Kui, was slightly out of place.

His movements completely unseen, one knew not how it occurred. On the “Bing” character martial stage, a Daoist seemed to appear out of thin air.

This person wore a luxurious gold and jade interwoven Dao robe, his Dao chignon held by a gold-edged green jade hairpin.

His complexion was ruddy, his features handsome.

He surveyed the four directions, his gaze lingering on the lofty dharma images of the six emperors one by one. Finally, he bowed slightly towards the Jing Emperor, completing the ritual.

“Jade Capital Mountain’s Yu Xi, offers greetings to the various honored ones.”

His face was calm, showing no trace of arrogance, but his voice possessed an extremely warm and moist feeling, flowing slowly, as if it could soothe the listener’s heart.

“This time’s Yellow River Assembly will be hosted by this humble Daoist.”

He said.

This True Monarch from Jade Capital Mountain reached out and gestured towards the eastern viewing stand: “Please, Mister Ao, take your seat!”

On the viewing stand directly to the east, at the highest point, a single luxurious large chair stood alone. It was interwoven with gold and jade, adorned with gems like stars.

The back of the chair was directly against a towering Six Harmonies pillar.

The position of this Six Harmonies pillar was precisely between the dharma images of the Jing Emperor and the Qi Emperor.

Thus, the being seated on this chair was also positioned between the two emperors.

Again, with no visible fluctuation, a figure with an indistinguishable face, clad in a gold-colored long robe, settled onto that large chair.

Though also supremely noble, holding a position above all others in the field, compared to the six emperors who upheld heaven and encompassed the world, it inevitably seemed somewhat dim.

Yu Xi did not offer any introduction, merely glancing at Xian Nan Kui below the “Jia” character martial stage, the exchange of information regarding the Yellow River Assembly already complete.

Then he spoke: “Please, the Outer Tower realm heavenly prides from various countries, enter the field.”

He stepped back to the base of the martial stage, his voice still clear, reaching everyone’s ears: “The names signed have been fixed, each with an opponent. Life and death are matters of fate, victory and defeat are within the struggle.”

“Please, for the sake of the world, perform!”

To Jiang Wang’s right, Chong Xuan Zun calmly rose.

A smile that was always present, yet seemed absent, hung at the corner of his mouth. Within his ink-dyed eyes, not a shred of nervousness was visible.

He seemed slow, yet in fact was swift, strolling away from the viewing stand.

Clad in a set of white robes, his demeanor outstandingly graceful, the moment he stepped onto the “Geng” character martial stage, he became the focus of all gazes in the field.

Sixteen Outer Tower heavenly prides would simultaneously commence battle on eight martial stages.

One battle would decide the top eight.

And Chong Xuan Zun’s opponent, at this moment, stood opposite him.

Based on the tacit understanding between the six great overlord nations, with no accidents whatsoever, the opponent of Qi Country’s Chong Xuan Zun was Tai Yin from Xia Country’s renowned Tai Clan.

Precisely the grand-nephew of True Person Tai Hua, who had perished at Sword Edge Mountain.

This was a young heavenly pride whose appearance could also be considered handsome.

Facing the people of Qi, it was truly a matter that encompassed both national hatred and familial enmity.

He had reason to be angry, cause and effect to hate.

But the eyes with which he looked at Chong Xuan Zun were exceedingly calm.

As if facing a completely ordinary passerby.

Unknowing before, unknowing now, no need to remember hereafter.
