Chapter 374: Another Level 20 Technique?

Chapter 375: Another Door to a Level 20 Merit Method?

Zhang Shan finally understood. Previously, he had thought that once he reached level 20, the system would automatically assign him to a city and a martial arts school to practice. However, he was mistaken.

The system did not directly assign him to a city. Instead, it just told him the name of the city: Jingzhou City.

This was great. He hadn't been to Jingzhou City before. He didn't know anything about Jingzhou City or where to find a martial arts school there.

"Brother Nanping, do you know Jingzhou City?" Zhang Shan asked.

"Jingzhou City? Of course I know Jingzhou City. It's a major city in the south, much like our Xiangyang City," Liu Nanping said.

"Then do you know where to find the martial arts school in Jingzhou City? The system told me to go to Jingzhou City to practice after reaching level 20," Zhang Shan said.

"Huh? Really? After reaching level 20, you're supposed to go to Jingzhou City? Is it the same for everyone? Did you ask Brother Hong?" Liu Nanping asked.

"I don't know if it's the same for everyone. Maybe it's random. I haven't asked Brother Hong yet," Zhang Shan said.

"Let me ask." Liu Nanping sent a message to Zhang Qinghong.

"Haha, looks like it is random. Brother Hong has to go to Yangzhou City," Liu Nanping said with a laugh.

"Yangzhou City? Looks like it's not always the same city," Zhang Shan said.

"Yeah, it's probably random. The world in this game is quite big. There are many major cities, big and small. There are probably hundreds of martial arts schools. It makes sense for it to be random," Liu Nanping said.

"But do you know where the martial arts school is in Jingzhou City?" Zhang Shan asked again.

"No, I don't. I've been to Jingzhou City before, but I just walked around. I didn't pay attention to where the martial arts school is. Why don't you ask the villagers here?" Liu Nanping said.

"Okay." Zhang Shan tried asking the villagers, but they just looked at him blankly and said they didn't know.

"Looks like the villagers are useless," Zhang Shan said.

"Let's ask Brother Hong. He's in Yangzhou City, maybe he knows," Liu Nanping said.

"Alright." Zhang Shan and Liu Nanping both sent messages to Zhang Qinghong.

"Brother Hong, do you know where the martial arts school is in Jingzhou City?" Zhang Shan asked.

"Why do you need to know the location of the martial arts school in Jingzhou City?" Zhang Qinghong asked.

"The system told me to go to Jingzhou City to practice after reaching level 20," Zhang Shan said.

"Really? You got Jingzhou City? I got Yangzhou City. It seems to be random. I don't know where the martial arts school is in Jingzhou City. I'm going to Yangzhou City to practice. Maybe you can just find a local to ask after you get there. Or maybe there will be a quest to guide you," Zhang Qinghong said.

"Okay then. I'll head to Jingzhou City first," Zhang Shan said.

"Brother Nanping, you're going to Xiangyang City?" Zhang Shan asked.

"Yeah, I got Xiangyang City," Liu Nanping said.

"Great, then let's part ways here," Zhang Shan said.

"Alright, let's meet again after we finish our practice," Liu Nanping said.

"Okay."

Zhang Shan looked at the map. Jingzhou City was to the south. He had to go through several villages to get there. He started heading south.

As he walked, he noticed that there were more monsters now, and they were stronger. He had to be more careful.

He encountered some bandits, but he was able to defeat them easily. He also encountered some wild animals, but he was able to avoid them.

Finally, he reached Jingzhou City. It was a bustling city, much bigger than the villages he had been to. He felt a sense of excitement.

He started asking people about the martial arts school. Some people just shook their heads, while others pointed him in a direction.

He followed the directions and finally found the martial arts school. It was a large building with a sign that said "Jingzhou Martial Arts School."

He walked in and saw many people practicing martial arts. He felt a sense of awe.

He went to the front desk and told the person there that he was here to practice. The person told him to wait and someone would come to help him.

A few minutes later, an old man came out. He had a long beard and looked like a master.

"Are you here to practice?" the old man asked.

"Yes, I am," Zhang Shan said.

"Very well. Come with me," the old man said.

He led Zhang Shan to a training room. It was a large room with various training equipment.

"You have reached level 20, so you are eligible to practice here. We have many different martial arts styles. Which one do you want to learn?" the old man asked.

"I don't know. Which one do you recommend?" Zhang Shan asked.

"It depends on your attributes and preferences. We have styles that focus on strength, agility, defense, and so on," the old man said.

Zhang Shan thought about it. He had high strength and defense, so he should probably choose a style that complements those attributes.

"I have high strength and defense. Which style would be suitable for me?" Zhang Shan asked.

"Hmm, let me see your attributes," the old man said.

Zhang Shan showed the old man his attributes. The old man looked at them and nodded.

"Based on your attributes, I recommend the 'Iron Mountain Style.' It focuses on strength and defense. It will greatly enhance your abilities," the old man said.

"Iron Mountain Style? Sounds good. I'll learn that one," Zhang Shan said.

"Very well. The Iron Mountain Style has 20 levels. Each level requires a certain amount of experience and a certain amount of time to practice. The higher the level, the more experience and time it requires," the old man said.

"Okay. How do I practice?" Zhang Shan asked.

"You can practice by completing quests related to the Iron Mountain Style. These quests will give you experience and help you learn the techniques," the old man said.

"Quests? What kind of quests?" Zhang Shan asked.

"They will vary. Some might be to defeat certain monsters, some might be to collect certain items, and some might be to train with other disciples," the old man said.

"Alright, I understand. So, I just need to complete quests to level up my Iron Mountain Style?" Zhang Shan asked.

"Yes. And as you level up, you will gain new skills and abilities," the old man said.

"New skills and abilities? That's great!" Zhang Shan said.

"Indeed. Now, let's begin with your first quest. Your first quest is to defeat 10 Wild Boars outside the city," the old man said.

"Wild Boars? I can do that," Zhang Shan said.

"Good. Go now and complete the quest. When you are finished, return here to report," the old man said.

"Yes, sir!" Zhang Shan said and left the martial arts school.

He headed outside the city to find the Wild Boars. He quickly found some and started fighting them.

The Wild Boars were stronger than the monsters he had fought before, but with his high strength and defense, he was able to defeat them without too much trouble.

After defeating 10 Wild Boars, he returned to the martial arts school and reported to the old man.

"You have completed the quest. Very good. Now, for your next quest, you need to collect 5 Wild Boar Tusks," the old man said.

"Wild Boar Tusks? Okay," Zhang Shan said and went back out to collect the tusks.

He repeated this process for several more quests, each one getting slightly more difficult. He was slowly leveling up his Iron Mountain Style and gaining new skills.

He learned a skill called "Iron Mountain Chop," which was a powerful attack that used his strength. He also learned a skill called "Iron Mountain Shield," which increased his defense.

He was excited to see what other skills he would learn as he continued to level up his Iron Mountain Style.

He spent the next few days practicing and completing quests. He was making good progress and felt himself getting stronger.

He also started to interact with other disciples at the martial arts school. He made some friends and they sometimes trained together.

One day, he was practicing in the training room when he noticed a young woman watching him. She had a beautiful face and wore a light blue dress.

She walked over to him and said, "You are very good. What style are you practicing?"

"I'm practicing the Iron Mountain Style," Zhang Shan said.

"Iron Mountain Style? That's a strong style. I'm practicing the Flowing Water Style," she said.

"Flowing Water Style? What's that like?" Zhang Shan asked.

"It focuses on agility and speed. It's a very flexible style," she said.

"That sounds interesting. Would you like to spar sometime?" Zhang Shan asked.

"Sure, I'd like that," she said.

They sparred a few times and Zhang Shan was impressed by her speed and agility. He realized that even though his strength and defense were high, he still needed to improve his agility.

He continued to practice and level up his Iron Mountain Style. He was also starting to explore the city and learn more about the world around him.

He was enjoying his time in Jingzhou City and was looking forward to what the future held. He knew that there were still many challenges ahead, but he was ready to face them. He was determined to become a strong martial artist and make a name for himself in this world.
