Chapter 895: How to Break

Chapter 895: How to Break It

Boom! Bang! Boom!

In the depths of Wuwang Daze, a place of eerie darkness and profound silence, thunderous roars echoed like bolts of lightning.

Ye Chen and the black version of Ye Chen were still locked in a fierce battle, fighting from the south to the north, then from the north to the east, and from the east to the west.

The once desolate Wuwang Daze had become a scene of chaos, with massive waves surging everywhere, capable of swallowing everything in the world.

At some point, the world fell silent once more.

Looking into the distance, the blood-soaked Ye Chen was staggering backward in retreat, his blood a brilliant gold, but as it dripped into the pitch-black waters, it was instantly absorbed by the dark sea.

He had been defeated, beaten by another version of himself.

More accurately, he had been overwhelmed by a combination of his doppelganger and the forces of Wuwang Daze.

If this had been outside, he would never have lost so miserably, even against another self. But here in Wuwang Daze, his energy was constantly being drained, while the black Ye Chen faced no such threat.

As Ye Chen had said earlier, this fight would inevitably end in his defeat if it dragged on, because he lacked the resources to outlast his black counterpart in a battle of attrition.

"Wuwang Daze, with its indiscriminate replication," Ye Chen muttered, his fists clenched and bloody. He had never felt so helpless. Not only could he not resist the drain of Wuwang Daze, but he also had no way to deal with the black Ye Chen.

He was beginning to realize that in this place, death was simply a matter of time for him.

Zing! Zing!

Behind him, the killing sword hummed as the black Ye Chen pursued, unleashing devastating divine techniques without a hint of fatigue.

Ye Chen fought while retreating, unsure where to flee or where the exit might be. He hoped someone could point him in the right direction.

But here, there was only him, the dark and silent Wuwang Daze, and the emotionless black Ye Chen. No one else existed. The so-called direction was nothing but the endless black sea.

How to break it! How to break it!

He roared and bellowed inwardly, his eyes blood-red.

He refused to give up on survival, having escaped from the death trap of Panlong Sea only to end up in this deadly Wuwang Daze. The opponents were different, but the outcome seemed the same.

On the vast expanse of land, black waves surged like an ocean—it was the Tian Ting army, a massive tide of people spreading as far as the eye could see.

At that moment, they all looked drained, their vital energy low and their expressions exhausted.

Ever since receiving the message, the Tian Ting forces had charged out of Southern Chu without pause, flying nonstop for a full day and night. Even those in the Quasi-Heaven Realm were worn out.

Without teleportation arrays, their only option to reach Panlong Sea and rescue Ye Chen was to fly. Everything had happened so suddenly that, despite their overwhelming numbers, they were hindered by the lack of arrays.

Stop!

Finally, the foremost Dao Huang came to an abrupt halt.

The Tian Ting army behind him stopped as well. Those in the Quasi-Heaven Realm held up fine, but everyone below that level gasped for breath the moment they stopped, their faces pale with fatigue.

"Senior, time is critical—we can't afford delays." Hao Tian Xuan Zhen spoke up, ready to press on.

"Flying alone, when will we ever reach Panlong Sea?" Dao Huang asserted firmly, extending his hand to block Hao Tian Xuan Zhen and the others.

"That's my child." Hao Tian Xuan Zhen growled, his eyes bloodshot, his clenched fists dripping with blood.

"You're a seasoned warrior; you know the situation." Someone scolded. Looking closely, it was Huang Dao Gong, who usually seemed unkempt but now carried the air of a wise elder.

"I have no time for this." Hao Tian Xuan Zhen roared, shattering Dao Huang's barrier with sheer force. "I only know my child needs me."

"You're being foolish." Tian Zong Lao Zu chided lightly, stepping in to stop Hao Tian Xuan Zhen again. "We are all part of Tian Ting; no one wants to abandon him. But right now, we're not thinking about how to save him—we need to figure out how to get to Panlong Sea in the shortest time possible."

"I—"

"Friend, don't let emotion cloud your wisdom." Someone interrupted Hao Tian Xuan Zhen. Glancing up, it was the cold Chu Ling Yu. "Northern Chu has millions of cultivators—that's a force capable of destroying an emperor in an instant. From the moment we got the message to now, a full day and night has passed, yet Ye Chen's soul jade pendant hasn't shattered. That alone says something."

As soon as he spoke, everyone's eyes turned to one person.

"He's still alive." Chu Ling Er gripped Ye Chen's soul jade pendant tightly, her stunning face pale, her beautiful eyes misty with tears.

"Such a massive force, and the Holy Lord still escaped?" Many voices were tentative, unsure whom to confirm with.

"I think I know where he is." From the crowd, Niu Shi San took a deep breath.

"You know?" All eyes shifted to Niu Shi San.

"You can tell at a glance." Niu Shi San waved his hand, unfurling a massive map—the entire map of Panlong Sea, vast and detailed. It was clear that the Niu family hadn't dominated Panlong Sea without reason.

"Panlong Sea is huge, but once surrounded by millions of cultivators, escape is impossible." Niu Shi San explained, pointing to a specific spot. "The reason he's still alive is probably because he entered this place."

"Wuwang Daze?" Everyone frowned.

"It's not just a possibility—it's certain." Niu Shi San nodded slightly. "That's his only way out."

"Wuwang Daze—a land of great peril, where death is almost guaranteed!" Wuya Dao Ren said, his face grim.

"Forbidden lands aren't always certain death." Dao Huang waved his hand. "I've been into the Youming Valley and came out alive."

"I believe that." Zhong Jiang stroked his beard lightly. "Ye Chen once entered the Wilderness Forbidden Land and survived. That proves his strength and luck. Who can say for sure he won't make it out of that death zone this time?"

Pfft!

A spray of blood erupted as Ye Chen's arm was severed, golden blood gushing out, stark against the dark Wuwang Daze.

He was defeated again, stumbling back several steps before steadying himself with a thud, kneeling on one knee as he spat out a mouthful of blood. His surging golden vital energy dimmed slightly.

Since the black Ye Chen appeared, he had lost track of time.

The Wuwang Daze was dark and timeless, as if time itself didn't exist. It could have been three or five days, or even three or five years, but he knew he had fought hundreds of battles—and lost every single one.

It wasn't that he was beaten by the black Ye Chen; he was defeated by Wuwang Daze itself. He lacked the power to fight another version of himself while resisting the loss of his vital energy. He had neither the advantage of terrain, timing, nor human factors. The fact that he hadn't been killed yet was already a miracle.

Now, he was at his limit.

The toll of constant battle and the relentless drain of Wuwang Daze had used up his last spirit stone.

From this point on, with no reserves left, even if the black Ye Chen didn't kill him, Wuwang Daze would drain him dry.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Across from him, the black Ye Chen advanced slowly, gripping the bloodstained killing sword. His steps were so heavy they made the Wuwang Daze tremble with each thud.

Ye Chen struggled to his feet, staring silently at the approaching black figure.

The black Ye Chen was like a puppet, his eyes hollow, his expression blank, showing no human emotion. Yet he remained incredibly powerful, like a god of death from the underworld, cold and intent on claiming Ye Chen's life.

Still, even now, Ye Chen hadn't given up hope. He possessed an unbreakable will and tenacious vitality. The more dire the situation, the calmer he became, refusing to relinquish his desire to survive.

"To get out alive, I have to kill him first." Ye Chen murmured to himself, gazing at the black Ye Chen. He had said this countless times and tried just as many, but failed every time.

"He's a copy of me created by Wuwang Daze."

"Same level as me, unaffected by the drain of Wuwang Daze. To kill him, I have to be stronger than him."

At that thought, a spark of insight flashed in Ye Chen's mind.

After fighting for so long, it was as if he had suddenly awakened, pinpointing the core of the problem.

Stronger than him! Stronger than him!

Ye Chen repeated the phrase over and over, his eyes veiled in blood.

How to become stronger than him?

Ye Chen's thoughts raced, searching for a breakthrough, hoping to undergo another transformation and rebirth in Wuwang Daze.

But clearly, that path wouldn't work.

Though he was already in the Quasi-Heaven Realm, just a step from Heaven Realm, he had never touched that barrier, let alone broken through to advance. In his current state, such a transformation was impossible.

It seemed even the heavens weren't on his side this time. Despite his rapid rise—one year of cultivation to reach the peak—he was still stuck in the Quasi-Heaven Realm, needing the right opportunity to break through.

And that opportunity was too elusive. Even powerhouses like Shen Xuan Feng or Kui Yu Jiang, who had lain dormant for tens of thousands of years, only found it during his heavenly tribulation. The depth of their accumulated experience was something he couldn't match.

As he pondered, Ye Chen slowly lifted his head, quietly watching the approaching black Ye Chen.

For some reason, in this scene, something felt missing.

What was it?

It lacked dialogue, the exchanges that should happen between opponents.

If the one facing him were Huo Zun, or the former Yin Zhi Ping and Lü Hou, what would they do seeing him in such a state?

Ye Chen knew that if it were them, they would laugh wildly, throw out threats, and curse to vent their satisfaction. That was the typical scene in a rivalry.

But none of that was happening here. Everything was so still.

No words, no lines, no dramatic moments.

Why not?

Why not?

Because across from him was a merciless puppet!

In that instant, Ye Chen seemed to have an epiphany. He stared at the black Ye Chen, his eyes flashing with a sharp, piercing light. "I have everything you have—appearance, divine techniques, secret arts, spiritual tools, bloodline, Dao body, origin, visions, Dao principles. But there's one thing I have that you don't."
