Chapter 3163: Two Eternities Intertwined

Buzz! Buzz!

In the alternate space of the Shenyu Temple, a deep buzzing echoed, the overwhelming pressure of the Wuwang Shen Dao causing the heavens and earth to tremble.

Wuwang Mozun was still occupied, full of motivation now that he had a new goal. With an additional Yongheng wielder, the refining array needed adjustments.

Then, one by one, the Tianzi characters seized from Ye Chen were suspended in mid-air.

Among the Tianzi, there was a mutual resonance, their flickering lights syncing in rhythm, emanating an ancient, mystical, and profound divine power.

"After all these thousands of years, you haven't even managed to have a child. Is there something wrong with your kidneys?"

"Nonsense, my body is perfectly fine."

"Your wife Xiuer has taken a liking to me and keeps insisting on coming back to the Zhutian with me."

"Shame is a good thing."

On the altar, the two sat side by side, hands tucked away, sitting straight as boards, exchanging words with ease and enjoying their chat.

If someone handed each of them a handful of sunflower seeds right now, it would be the perfect scene.

Wuwang Mozun, busy with his work, glanced over at Ye Chen and Zhao Yun more than once, his eyes filled with curiosity.

How could these two remain so calm, chatting away leisurely even while sealed? What else was there to do if not talk?

Was that Ye Chen's answer?

And Zhao Yun's too?

Sealed tight, one barely alive and the other half-dead, they had to find something to pass the time.

The scene fell into complete silence.

Wuwang Mozun was diligent in his efforts, while Ye Chen and Zhao Yun were utterly relaxed, like two spectators enjoying the show, chatting while watching him work.

In reality, the two were accumulating their inner essence.

The gathering of Yongheng brought about wondrous things, known only to them. As for Wuwang Mozun, he remained oblivious, unwittingly digging his own grave.

However, even though their Yongheng had converged, the two still couldn't break the seal right away.

They needed to gather their strength—the opportunity would come only once.

At the very least, they had to heal first.

It wasn't until some time later that Wuwang Mozun finally stopped, drawing upon the Wuwang Shen Dao to activate the refining array. The Tianzi characters floating in the sky also began to glow.

A cascade of divine light poured down from above, enveloping Ye Chen and Zhao Yun. It was a terrifying refining force, ignoring all laws and principles.

"I've saved Yue Shen, Di Xian, and Ruoshui for you. You owe me three favors now."

"I'll repay one by taking on the calamity for you; I saved your wife back then, so that settles the second. We're even."

"Why two?"

"I saved her twice."

The two kept up their banter even under the refining force, tallying debts without reaching a conclusion.

Awkwardness hung in the air, extremely so.

This awkwardness referred to Wuwang Mozun, a divine being and the lord of the Shenyu, who was completely ignored by them at that moment.

The feeling was truly unpleasant.

Yet, Wuwang Mozun showed no anger; instead, he smirked mockingly. Just wait—once he refined them, he wondered if they'd still have such spirit.

"Your Honor."

Suddenly, a call came from outside, the voice belonging to Meng Mo, waiting beyond the temple.

"What is it?"

Wuwang Mozun replied indifferently.

"The four lineages have arrived."

Meng Mo responded. By "four lineages," she meant the inheritances of Boluomo Shen, Xianzun, Fozun, and Shalu Moshen, who had come together.

Their purpose was clear: to draw the Shenyu into their alliance and use the five supreme divine artifacts to locate Ye Chen.

"Not receiving them."

Wuwang Mozun dismissed it casually, his tone carrying authority. At this critical time, he had no leisure to deal with them. His priority was refining Ye Chen and Zhao Yun to seize their Yongheng, giving him a chance to become a supreme god.

Outside the temple, Luo Hou and the others looked displeased. They were all from supreme inheritances, and with all four lineages present, to be treated so dismissively was humiliating.

Frustrated as they were, the four dared not act rashly, even with their supreme divine artifacts in hand. The Shenyu was different from other forbidden zones or supreme inheritances—it had never been touched by war, and everything here was intact. Causing trouble here would leave them half-dead at best.

Humph!

With a cold snort, the four departed together, seething with pent-up anger.

Little did they know, the Ye Chen they were desperately searching for was right in the Shenyu alternate space. What expressions would they have if they found out? Two Yongheng wielders, both captured by you—we've been working for nothing, just paving the way for you.

In the alternate space, Wuwang Mozun had sat down cross-legged, like an old monk in meditation, his demeanor solemn as he used his primordial spirit to drive the refining process. He was determined not to leave the Senluo Shenyu until he claimed their Yongheng.

Ye Chen and Zhao Yun continued their conversation, occasionally glancing upward. They completely ignored the Wuwang Shen Dao; what truly bothered them was the Dunjia Tianzi.

Zhao Yun understood this best. Without these strange Tianzi, he could have held out for another thousand years, making refinement of him nearly impossible.

To this day, he still didn't know the origin of these Tianzi; he only knew they were connected to the Yongheng Xianyu and could sometimes override his own Yongheng.

Ye Chen sent a message, sharing all he knew and had seen. Zhao Yun couldn't help but raise an eyebrow upon hearing it. He had left early back then and had truly underestimated the Zhutian—how many secrets were hidden there?

"There's someone still waiting for you."

Ye Chen pulled out a sachet and tossed it to Zhao Yun. Inside was a lock of a woman's hair—Qin Mengyao's.

Zhao Yun caught it, his smile tinged with weariness.

After thousands of years, he hadn't forgotten that woman. Back in the underworld, she had helped him a great deal.

"How come she didn't fall for me? I'm so handsome!"

Ye Chen said with exaggerated sincerity, hands in his sleeves.

Zhao Yun put away the sachet and gave Ye Chen a sideways glance. After all these years apart, this guy's audacity had only grown. He'd wooed one after another, claiming talents from every field. Had he swept them all up?

Ye Chen didn't mind the look.

A pig that can steal cabbages is a good pig.

That's just me—a legend like no other.

Hm?

As they joked, Wuwang Mozun suddenly opened his eyes, looking at Zhao Yun before fixing his gaze on Ye Chen, his eyes narrowing with deep intensity.

"My friend, I truly underestimated you."

Wuwang Mozun chuckled eerily, then stood and stepped onto the altar, his eyes gleaming with brilliant light.

It wasn't for nothing—he had detected the aura of the Tianzi from Ye Chen's Yongheng, slightly different from his own.

In other words, this newly captured Yongheng wielder had fused with a Tianzi, and they had become one.

Something he himself couldn't achieve, despite his attempts over the years.

Now, he saw even deeper, as if glimpsing a universe within Ye Chen's body.

That was precisely what excited him.

The universe inside Ye Chen opened up another realm for him, like a stroke of fortune—a nitian one at that.

"A different Tianzi."

"Carrying a universe within—fascinating."

Wuwang Mozun laughed again, his smile full of meaning, growing brighter with each moment.

"You must be quite ignorant of it!"

Ye Chen said leisurely, "Release me, and I'll tell you the secrets."

"Refining you will reveal the secrets just the same."

Wuwang Mozun sneered coldly, raising his hand to place a palm on Ye Chen's crown. Strands of demonic light entered Ye Chen's body—not to harm him, but to heal his wounds.

That's right, to heal.

Ye Chen was different from Zhao Yun; he was still in a half-dead state, with remnants of killing intent and A Luo's Buddhist demonic patterns lingering inside.

He wasn't healing out of kindness; he didn't want those threats to taint Ye Chen's Yongheng. After all, once refined, that Yongheng would be his.

It was simple to understand—like slaughtering a pig for meat, you'd remove the useless waste first. He wanted a pristine Ye Chen.

"How embarrassing for you to go to such trouble."

Ye Chen looked quite content.

Normally, healing in a sealed state was nearly impossible, but with Wuwang Mozun's help, it was effortless.

Wuwang Mozun's abilities were indeed extraordinary. The demonic light he summoned was incredibly strange, breaking through the Buddhist demonic patterns and eradicating the lingering killing intent, while also repairing Ye Chen's body.

Such a generous act was rare these days.

Zhao Yun said nothing, but his expression said it all—he found Wuwang Mozun's actions amusing. Not only had he dug his own pit, but he'd also prepared the gravestone.

Only after a long while did Wuwang Mozun withdraw his hand, smiling playfully, his eyes on Ye Chen shining brightly. He had known all along that a supreme from the outer universe would bring surprises.

He returned to his original spot, sitting cross-legged with eyes closed, continuing to drive the refining process. He couldn't even imagine what kind of fortune awaited once he refined two Yongheng wielders.

Glancing at Ye Chen, his once pale face now radiated vitality. The torment from the Buddhist demonic patterns and various killing intents—gold on the outside but rotten within—had all been erased. He felt truly refreshed, still wounded but no longer critically so. He could focus on weaving his Yongheng.

Zhao Yun also closed his eyes, his Yongheng dancing in harmony with Ye Chen's in the ether—one undying and indestructible, the other eternal and inexhaustible. Different Yongheng, yet converging on the same path, a divine power gathering bit by bit. Once the strength was sufficient, they could shatter the seal in one go.

This change was intangible, perceptible only to those bearing Yongheng.

Though Wuwang Mozun opened his eyes several times without detecting anything, his desire had overwhelmed his senses. All he cared about was refining Zhao Yun and Ye Chen to seize their Yongheng—nothing else mattered.

The alternate space fell quiet once more.

Outside, however, it was bustling.

The four supreme inheritances, after leaving the Shenyu, had visited many ancient lands, summoning countless old gods, all in search of Ye Chen. That outer universe supreme was too dangerous; if not eliminated, he would become a catastrophe.

"Search, search relentlessly."

Asura Tianzun, cloaked in black robes and appearing ethereal, hid just beyond the Shenyu.

Yue Shen and the others were there too, like lingering ghosts, circling the Shenyu, waiting to assist Zhao Yun and Ye Chen.

No one doubted Ye Chen. Though he lacked shame, he was reliable in key moments. Their faith in Zhao Yun extended to Ye Chen as well. With the two together, they would create a myth.

And this Shenyu would be the battlefield where that myth unfolded.
