Chapter 3055: Kill Them All

Under the heavens, the crowd of emperors wore expressions of sorrow. In particular, the supreme beings of Tian Ting sighed incessantly, lamenting the loss of a great emperor who vanished in an instant—not from old age, not from battle, but erased by the merciless rules.

The next one could be any of them.

Yet, the supreme beings of past eras had come to terms with it. From the moment they stepped into Tai Gu Hong Huang, they had accepted a certain fate. What they regretted was their dwindling lifespan, perhaps not lasting until the final battle.

Ye Chen pressed on without pause.

As he passed the Yin He, he caught sight of two figures: Tun Tian Mo Zun and Hong Lian Nu Di, sitting by the riverbank, leaning against each other in deep affection like a demonic abyss. They even created a spectacular display of fireworks, a scene that was quite romantic.

And they were not the only ones.

Far off in another direction were Di Huang and Yue Shang, with Dong Hua Nu Di exuding endless charm, no longer the lofty supreme being. She held Di Huang's arm, smiling radiantly.

Ye Chen smiled and did not disturb them.

Such moments were common along his path; even supreme beings had emotions and love, often pairing up and walking hand in hand through the dim world.

Ye Chen journeyed farther, occasionally looking up at the vast sky. Even with his keen vision, he could not pierce through the hazy chaos and ancient desolation that enveloped everything.

This was Tai Gu Hong Huang.

This was also the previous epoch.

The great destruction of the heavens and earth was not complete; remnants of the ancient Tian Ting's beings survived. This world, known as Tai Gu Hong Huang, was shattered but still existed.

He came to a halt—it was the altar.

And there, a graceful figure was already waiting.

It was Hong Yan.

Her presence here did not surprise Ye Chen, for she once belonged to the Sheng Mo lineage, and there was her sister Qi Huan. Though Qi Huan had sacrificed herself, traces of her could still be seen in Hong Yan.

As for the first-generation Sheng Mo, he looked particularly ferocious. Ever since Hong Yan arrived, his low roars had not ceased. His top general, Qi Huan, had betrayed him, and now Hong Yan had done the same. He remained sealed here, and those two sisters were largely to blame.

Hong Yan's expression was indifferent, showing neither joy nor sorrow.

Once, she had feared the first-generation Sheng Mo deeply, a fear ingrained in her bones, making her heart tremble at the mere mention of his name.

But now, she feared him no longer.

Her stance was clear; the demon sealed here was no longer her master. Her sister's death had given her the true resolve to confront the heavens without restraint. As one of the multitude of beings, she, too, despised the damned heavens.

Ah!

Sheng Mo howled again, not at Hong Yan, but at Ye Chen. One was enough to frustrate him, and now another had come.

Ye Chen stepped forward, standing shoulder to shoulder with Hong Yan.

He had visited once before and been forced to retreat due to the overwhelming pressure. But now, after absorbing the gifts of his predecessors and undergoing another rebirth, neither Sheng Mo's bloodline nor his essence could suppress him anymore.

Sheng Mo gritted his teeth.

His eyes were still blood-red, as if dripping with blood, but one emotion was unmistakable: fear. For the Sheng Ti supreme being had truly risen, posing an immensely powerful threat that overwhelmed his state of mind.

The vast sky rumbled with thunder and lightning.

Sheng Mo's will represented the heavenly dao, so his fear meant the heavenly dao itself was afraid. Though Sheng Ti was derived from it, the current Sheng Ti made it uneasy.

Ye Chen stood silently, observing without speaking.

From Sheng Mo, he detected traces of the heavenly dao. Such traces existed on him as well, as a Sheng Ti. Sheng Mo could represent it, and so could he.

Unfortunately, he could not find the rules.

As he had thought earlier, to save the supreme beings of past eras, he first needed to locate the rules. For them, it was like a book of life and death; altering the hidden rules could extend their lifespans.

He searched, and so did Hong Yan.

It was no surprise they thought of this first, as Sheng Ti both originated from the heavenly dao. The idea was to tamper with the rules as quickly as possible, for the supreme beings could not hold on much longer.

Yet, they found nothing.

In contrast, the first-generation Sheng Mo laughed ferociously, knowing exactly what they sought. But they were doomed to fail. Being derived from the heavenly dao and able to transcend its control did not mean they could master it. The hidden rules belonged solely to the heavenly dao; they were beyond reach.

He stopped roaring and waited in silence.

What was he waiting for? For the supreme beings of past eras to perish one by one. Even if the Tian Ting Nu Di returned, she could not escape.

Their constraints were mutual.

However, he could afford to wait, but the common people could not.

If he died, the Tian Mo Chong Qi Sha would emerge.

If he lived, it would still emerge, just later. Once it arrived, it would bring world-ending rebirth, marking the end of this epoch.

Ye Chen and Hong Yan remained expressionless, still searching, like statues or ice sculptures, standing for three or five days straight.

The altar was eerily silent.

The entire dim Tai Gu Hong Huang was frighteningly quiet, as if in silent agreement, seeking hope amid the gloom.

Here was stillness, but the realms of heaven, earth, and humanity were in turmoil.

Gazing down upon the three realms, all were engulfed in raging flames of war. Emperors fought in blood, and so did the common people, staining the once-beautiful mountains and rivers red.

"Old Daoist, I fear we can't hold on much longer!"

Ming Di transmitted his voice across realms, locked in a fierce battle with the outer domain supreme beings, his imperial body covered in blood.

Dao Zu said nothing, pouring all his strength into his attacks.

The underworld blazed with combat, and the heavenly realm was no better.

But the human realm suffered the most.

This outer domain invasion had targeted precisely. If the outer domain had ten percent of its forces, then at least fifty percent or more were pressing against the Zhu Tian human realm.

Ye Chen had left behind many prohibitions when he departed, but those were consumable; over time, with repeated invasions, they had all turned to dust.

Of course, the first-generation Sheng Mo played a role in this.

Before the Nu Di killed her way into Tai Gu Hong Huang, he had a moment of freedom, and even the heavenly dao had a brief withdrawal. All of Zhu Tian's concealments and prohibitions became useless as a result, which was why the outer domain had targeted so accurately.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

As they watched, Dong Huang Nu Di coughed up blood repeatedly, surrounded by numerous outer domain supreme beings and trapped on Da Dao Tai Shang Tian. It was not that she lacked strength, but the outer domain's forces were overwhelmingly vast.

If even she was in such a state, the common people of the human realm fared worse, overwhelmed by waves of demonic soldiers, generals, and lords. Every living being struggled on the edge of life and death; every instant, people fell into pools of blood.

As Ming Di had said, without a miracle, Zhu Tian could not endure. The only blame lay in the sheer number of invading supreme beings.

Boom!

A booming sound echoed as another massive demonic pillar descended, targeting Zhu Tian and crashing onto You Ming Da Lu. A dark halo spread out, leveling mountains, ancient cities, and statues across the four seas and eight wildernesses, burying countless lives.

Ji Ning Shuang saw this and tried to rush down from Da Dao Tai Shang Tian to destroy the pillar, knowing it would bring more supreme beings. They were already on the brink; more would mean total ruin.

"Where do you think you're going?"

The outer domain supreme beings sneered maliciously, closing in and unleashing deadly techniques, forcing Dong Huang Nu Di back once more.

"Destroy the demonic pillar!"

On You Ming Da Lu, the common people's roars filled the air. With Dong Huang Nu Di occupied, it fell to them. They had to carve a bloody path, no matter the cost, to prevent more supreme beings from arriving.

Sadly, they were not emperors. Before they could reach it, they were shattered wave after wave. They neither destroyed the pillar nor stopped the outer domain supreme being's descent.

The one who arrived was a Tian Mo emperor.

This being exuded towering demonic might and an air of grandeur. Even Tian Di said nothing, yet he stood tall and straight, his demonic eyes truly looking down on all, surveying the universe and its people.

"Emperor!"

The common people's cries were as tragic as ever, a soul-deep roar calling for the supreme beings of past eras.

"Ants, tremble!"

The Tian Mo emperor chuckled darkly, baring his white teeth as rolling demonic energy surged from You Ming Da Lu toward Zhu Tian, devouring countless lives and destroying mountains and rivers along the way.

In that instant, the common people despaired.

Too many cultivators stumbled and collapsed, their dim eyes losing all hope.

"Who dares bully Zhu Tian?"

Suddenly, a fierce shout echoed across the vast universe, an imperial aura sweeping from Tian Huang across the starry skies.

Reinforcements had arrived.

Nine great emperors, like nine beams of eternal divine light, charged from Tian Huang, shaking the nine heavens and filling the cosmos with killing intent.

"How is this possible?"

The Tian Mo emperor's face changed. Though separated by countless miles, the nine emperors' aura had already forced him back step by step. Even with his immense power, he was suppressed. As fellow emperors, he paled in comparison to Zhu Tian's.

Zing!

A sword's hum rang out as Xi Chen's sword strike landed, sending the unsteady Tian Mo emperor flying eight thousand miles. Had he not had some foundation, he might have been cleaved in two.

But it mattered little.

From the moment he was sent flying, the Tian Mo emperor never landed, as the fourth divine general followed up, impaling him with a spear in the starry skies. Those who loved to show off often met the quickest ends.

In that instant, the common people stared in stunned silence.

In the next, the people of Zhu Tian wept.

They had finally waited for them—the Zhu Tian expeditionary force had killed back, nine great emperors in total, enough to turn the tide.

"War!"

Except for Dong Huang Tai Xin, who remained in the starry skies slaughtering, the other eight emperors streaked like divine light straight to Da Dao Tai Shang Tian. Each one's eyes brimmed with tears, unaware until they saw it firsthand how fiercely their homeland was fighting.

Boom! Boom!

Da Dao Tai Shang Tian trembled even more with the eight emperors' arrival, filled with silent immortal lights and destructive visions. Emperor blood fell like rain, and every boom sounded like a funeral bell from hell, tolling for the outer domain.

"How is this possible?"

Roars of rage echoed across Da Dao Tai Shang Tian.

From the outer domain supreme beings.

Since the eight emperors arrived, none of them had stood firm. What good was a Tian Di? Under Zhu Tian's suppression, they were no match, falling one after another, exploding into ash mid-fall.

Below, Dong Huang Tai Xin was equally fierce.

Now an emperor, she rampaged through wherever she went, with no one to stop her. Demonic soldiers, generals, and lords were no match; every demonic pillar standing in the stars one moment was obliterated by her the next.

"War!"

The common people roared, picking up their bloodstained swords once more and charging alongside the emperors, reclaiming their lost mountains and rivers.

"No one to help us?"

Ming Di grumbled and clicked his tongue. With nine emperors piled on Zhu Tian, no one came to aid the underworld. Didn't they have supreme beings too?

Dao Zu remained silent.

As long as the human realm held, the heavenly realm would be fine. This outer domain invasion would end in failure with the nine emperors' return.
