Boom! Bang! Boom!
The illusory space rumbled incessantly as Tian Di Sheng Mo clashed desperately with Di Dao Sheng Ti. No one knew how long they had been fighting, nor how many rounds they had exchanged.
"Die, why won't you die?"
Di Sha's hair was disheveled, and with every swing of his demonic blade, he let out a hysterical roar.
Tian Di's state of mind was on the verge of collapse.
It was all because Ye Chen was like an unkillable cockroach—despite exhausting all his reserves, Di Sha couldn't finish him off.
His state of mind mirrored Ye Chen's.
Di Sha couldn't destroy him, and he couldn't eradicate Di Sha. That Tian Di Sheng Mo wasn't just powerful in combat; it was incredibly resilient. After fighting for so long, even someone as stubborn as Ye Chen wanted to suggest calling a truce to catch their breath.
Rest, my foot.
Di Sha didn't say a word, but his blood-red eyes clearly conveyed those three words.
"Then come on."
Ye Chen's wild frenzy surged again. Di Sha was ferocious, but Ye Chen was even more so.
Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!
Streaks of black blood and golden blood intertwined, forming beams of light that stood out starkly in the illusory space.
This battle dragged on far longer than anyone imagined.
Ye Chen was reaching his limit, due to his lifespan. Before his self-destruction earlier, he had sacrificed a full ninety thousand years of life. Though he was far younger than Di Sha in age, his form appeared much more aged.
If Ye Chen was faltering, so was Di Sha.
What plagued Di Sha was the time limit of his bloodline inheritance boundary; he could clearly feel it fading away.
Thus, both their auras were weakening endlessly.
By this point, they had fought to utter exhaustion, which only made them more frenzied. Each was determined to annihilate the other before collapsing, both being stubborn souls with unyielding obsessions, refusing to believe they couldn't kill their opponent.
"Die!"
Di Sha swung his demonic blade, slashing it along Ye Chen's scalp and into his shoulder.
Pfft!
Ye Chen's Yong Heng Immortal Sword pierced straight into Di Sha's chest.
In that instant, time seemed to freeze.
In that same moment, both stood like stone-carved statues, holding that pose for three full breaths.
"You cannot destroy me."
Di Sha grinned viciously, infusing his blade with destructive power and severing Ye Chen's arm.
"That remains to be seen."
Ye Chen gritted his teeth and yanked out his Immortal Sword, sending a spray of Sheng Mo fresh blood bursting forth.
Di Sha staggered, unsteady on his feet, and retreated step by step.
Ye Chen lurched forward, taking two quick steps to catch up. Regardless of anything, he charged headlong into Di Sha's embrace again. Already off-balance, Di Sha was sent flying backward from the impact.
"I will slaughter you."
Di Sha roared hoarsely, gathering his strength to rise and fight on.
"Seal for me."
Ye Chen mounted Di Sha, gripping his sword with one hand and plunging it into Di Sha's skull. This was no ordinary strike; the sword was inscribed with countless seals, meant precisely for this moment—to bind Di Sha.
The seals worked perfectly. The struggling Di Sha went still.
He had no choice but to submit; Ye Da Di's seals were no joke. Ye Chen had studied Sheng Mo extensively, preparing these seals in advance. They transformed into ancient runes, etching into Di Sha's body, forbidding his Sheng Mo origin, sealing his Tian Di Yuan Shen, and locking his true form.
"Senior, it's over."
Ye Chen laughed wearily, his blood-smeared face making him look terrifying.
"I don't believe it."
Di Sha bellowed, trying to break the seals, but he was powerless. These were eternal seals.
"We're all tired; stop struggling."
Ye Chen pressed his remaining hand on Di Sha, activating Tun Tian Mo Gong. A vortex formed in his palm, aggressively devouring the Sheng Mo's origin. He was well-versed in this process.
Ah!
Di Sha howled again, a mix of agony, sorrow, and rage. The mighty Tian Di-level Sheng Mo had been brought down by a lesser Sheng Ti, and now, without any power to resist, he could only watch as he was devoured. His dignity, pride, and glorious achievements had all turned into a farce.
Ye Chen said nothing and showed no mercy, devouring forcefully.
Amid the shrieks, Di Sha's Sheng Mo body withered visibly, rapidly deflating. The remnants of his bloodline inheritance power, the essence of his origin, and his bloodline forces were all absorbed by Ye Chen.
The roars of the Sheng Mo eventually faded.
As Di Sha's demonic body turned to ash inch by inch, his Yuan Shen followed suit into oblivion. In his final moments, he must have felt utter despair and regret. It was meant to be a deadly trap, but it had become a catastrophe. Not only had he failed to kill Ye Chen, but he had also doomed himself, falling at the hands of a Da Di.
The Nu Di's words had come true—a chance encounter that became a calamity.
Di Sha had overestimated himself and underestimated Ye Chen. The strongest supreme of the Huang Gu Sheng Ti lineage was not so easily extinguished. To kill him at the same level, it would take a Sheng Mo of the highest caliber.
Thud!
Ye Chen collapsed onto his backside, his entire body trembling from sheer exhaustion. Even with his Sheng Ti's abundant vital energy and Yong Heng's support, he had been pushed to his limits, highlighting the brutality of the battle.
Once he regained his composure, he sat cross-legged.
Having devoured a Tian Di Sheng Mo, his whole body was filled with demonic malice. It was scattered by his origin and then used to reshape his Sheng Ti, erasing the internal killing intent. He recast his arm and swallowed handfuls of healing pills.
This was both a calamity and a stroke of fortune.
Battling a Tian Di Sheng Mo had elevated his state of mind. Absorbing Di Sha's origin made his bloodline even more refined, adding mysterious powers to his core. With the death of Sheng Mo Di Sha, the invisible balance in the void tilted slightly toward the Sheng Ti lineage. Thus, the Sheng Mo grew weaker by a fraction, while the Sheng Ti grew stronger.
Hm?
Di Sha and Hong Yan, who were meditating in healing, both opened their eyes for a moment, furrowing their brows.
As Sheng Ti themselves, they could sense the added power.
And this time, the mysterious force bolstering them was greater than any previous instance.
Another Sheng Mo has fallen.
The two murmured lightly, exchanging a glance before closing their eyes to continue healing. With the residual killing intent and blood seals gone, they had already reshaped their Di Ti. Now, if any outer domain supreme arrived, they could hold their ground.
Not far away, Xing Tian and Hou Yi were in a similar state.
As for Jian Shen and Jian Zun, they had just condensed their Yuan Shen and were now reshaping their Di Ti. As newly ascended Da Di, their foundations couldn't compare to Di Huang and the others. This battle had truly brought them to the brink of death.
The Shen Jiangs' conditions were also improving, though none had awakened yet.
The Tian Ting Nu Di, bearing the hopes of many, was still attempting to fuse, a process that might take a long time.
"The time has come."
Ren Wang suddenly opened his eyes, glanced at Mo Zun, and fixed his gaze on Hun Luan Ti.
Like him, many old figures stirred.
They could see imperial aura surrounding Hun Luan Ti, with visions intertwining and the sounds of the Great Dao echoing.
This was a harbinger—the prelude to proving the Dao and becoming a Di.
Under the watchful eyes of the gods, Hun Luan Ti slowly opened his eyes, took a deep breath, and entered the eastern sky.
Boom! Rumble!
Soon, rumbling resounded as dark clouds blanketed the vast sky, with lightning flashing and thunder roaring. A pressure that made hearts tremble enveloped the heavens and earth, making Hun Luan Ti, standing below, shine brilliantly.
"The upheaval created a flaw in the opportunity, but battling the Di made it whole."
Zao Hua Shen Wang stroked his beard. Hun Luan Ti was extraordinary, using battle to mend his opportunity and achieving nirvana on the edge of life and death, which was more direct than settling through Dao principles. Without this, he would have needed another three to five years.
"Compared to him, the others have a bit less fortune."
Long Ye took a deep breath and glanced at Xi Chen, Mo Zun, Sheng Huang, and the Fourth Shen Jiang.
"It's only a matter of time."
Ren Wang tucked his hands away. None of them would achieve Di status like him. There were also Long Ye, Long Yi, Long Wu, and Zi Xuan, all remnants of Di souls, destined not to prove the Dao and become Di—at least, that was his belief.
Boom! Rumble!
As the gods watched, the ultimate Di Jie descended, with billions of thunderbolts pouring down from the heavens, obscuring sky and earth.
Hun Luan Ti said nothing, charging upward against the heavens and enduring the thunderbolts as he fought his way up.
No one doubted his strength. He had once stood shoulder to shoulder with Sheng Ti, forming a three-way standoff with Ye Chen and Yao Chi. With Yao Chi proving the Dao first and Ye Chen becoming Di later, how could he not shine in the end?
Under the ultimate Di Jie, he was a war god, his battle intent unmatched.
The so-called imperial thunderbolts couldn't destroy him; what was truly fearsome were the subsequent imperial Dao principles.
Once the lightning waned, the world cleared again.
The imperial Dao principles manifested fittingly, carving a human figure from the mist, like an eternal monument standing over the river of time—ancient and沧桑, radiating the most brilliant light.
"Ye Chen."
Gazing at it, too many people had tears in their eyes. That was Ye Chen's imperial Dao principles form.
"Can I only see you in the Di Jie now?"
Hong Yan choked back a sob, staring dazedly at the vast sky, her vision blurred by tears, her heart aching.
Nu Di didn't open her eyes, but crystal tears slid from the corners.
Those were Chu Xuan and Chu Ling's tears, sobbing heartbrokenly, causing their fusion to separate once more.
Ah!
Still, it was Ren Wang who brought out his worn wine flask, pouring out a splash of liquor.
Boom! Bang! Boom!
The roaring in the sky continued endlessly. Besides Ye Chen's principles form, Di Huang, Hong Yan, Xing Tian, Hou Yi, Jian Shen, and Jian Zun's principles forms also manifested one by one. Following them came Dong Huang Nu Di, then Dao Zu and Hun Luan Da Di appearing simultaneously, even Ming Di's principles form joining in.
Dozens of imperial Dao principles forms shone like suns, illuminating the universe.
The ensuing battle was extraordinarily fierce; even Hun Luan Ti's power nearly led to his destruction.
Ye Chen couldn't see any of this.
In the void of illusions, his imperial golden body was the true brilliance. Eternal principles encircled his Di Ti; imperial visions unfolded one after another; and ethereal Dao sounds formed profound divine melodies.
Devouring the Di Dao Sheng Mo had truly been a boon.
His aura climbed steadily in meditation, reaching the absolute peak of the Da Di realm.
Break!
With a soft shout, he finally shattered the bottleneck, surging into the Tian Di realm.
A golden halo spread out, stretching across the illusions.
This supreme of the lineage had forged new glory, blazing a trail as the first Sheng Ti to prove the Dao and become Di, and the first to ascend to Tian Di. No ancient inheritance could overshadow his radiance. The living myth was an eternal monument, crafting an undying legend.
From now on, calling him Ye Tian Di was more fitting.
Pity that no one was there to witness it, no one to cheer, and no one to behold this historic moment.
Yet, the void would record this profound stroke for him.
