Boom! Rumble!
The sky above Taigu Road is dim and without light, occasionally illuminated by flashes of lightning and thunder, shrouded in apocalyptic colors.
Each rumble is like a funeral bell tolling from hell.
The Heavenly Court Female Emperor, Nu Di, is struggling bitterly to hold on, her body covered in blood as she retreats, defeated. It’s not that she lacks strength; it’s that her opponents are too powerful. Facing two at once, in her weakened state, she can barely withstand the assaults from the Heavenly Emperor.
“This wave is too big.”
On Jie Ming Mountain, the Ming Di has risen to his feet, his gaze fixed on the vast sky, shifting between light and dark.
Even Dao Zu has lost interest in fishing, his brow furrowed as he looks up at the heavens.
The Eastern Wasteland Female Emperor, Donghuang Nu Di, is also looking up, and like all emperors, she feels a deep unease in her heart. The rumbling from Taigu Road happens almost daily, but this time, the vibrations exceed all expectations, suggesting a world-ending battle involving beings far beyond the level of a Great Emperor.
If even the emperors are affected, the common people of the three realms are even more so.
They are all watching, their faces pale with terror, their hearts trembling. Countless are shaken to the point of vomiting blood, and many more faint away, as the rumbling echoes like a tolling funeral bell.
Pfft!
As they watch, Nu Di spits blood into the sky, her protective eternal light shattered by a palm strike from Di Sha. Before she can steady herself, Can Zhao’s attack arrives—a devastating demonic sword that nearly splits her in two.
“Forbidden!”
Can Zhao’s word rings out sharply, cold and desolate, like a divine judgment that brooks no defiance.
Buzz!
With his words, the void trembles, and nine thousand nine hundred and ninety-nine demonic pillars erupt from the ground, piercing through heaven and earth. Each pillar is etched with demonic patterns, and chains of order slither like serpents, intertwining to form a massive cage capable of trapping even a Heavenly Emperor.
Nu Di has barely steadied herself when she is immobilized by the forbidden seal.
Within the cage, the chains of order are infused with bloodline power, breakable only by eternity. They lock her Dao roots and seal her origin, exerting a powerful devouring force that drains her divine power. Even eternity cannot reverse it, and already weakened, she is now at her most frail.
Only then do the rumblings in the sky fade away.
Can Zhao and Di Sha stand one to the east and one to the west—one poised in the heavens, the other planted in the void—both wearing expressions of mockery and amusement. Their eyes, like black holes, are filled with destruction and cruelty, sinister and demonic.
This scene is one they have fantasized about for many years.
Nu Di hates them, and they hate her just as fiercely.
In the ancient war, the allied forces of the three realms were defeated because of this emperor. She turned the tide single-handedly, sealing the world that should have been theirs with her eternal immortality for eternity.
Ages have passed like shifting seas and sands, turning hate and rage into something eternal.
Now, seeing Nu Di suppressed and turned into a captive, their excitement borders on madness.
“It’s over.”
Di Sha grins viciously, raising his hand and pointing a finger of utter annihilation toward Nu Di in the cage.
This strike is one of absolute extinction.
Nu Di cannot evade this finger; if it hits, even eternity will decay.
Zing!
At that moment, a sword hum rises as Ye Chen charges in, using eternity to crack the cage open. He unleashes a river of eternal immortals with his sword, shattering the finger and forcing Di Sha back.
Boom!
In the same instant, Nu Di’s eternal light surges throughout her body. Thanks to the crack Ye Chen created, she breaks free from the emperor-trapping cage, but at a steep price—sacrificing ten thousand years of her lifespan, leaving her looking even more aged.
Ye Chen flashes back to her side, supporting her as she sways.
The eternal immortal sword in Ye Chen’s hand is already shattered, damaged by Di Sha’s demonic body. This Heavenly Emperor-level sacred demon is more terrifying than he imagined; even a sword formed from eternal power is left in ruins. His arm is fractured, blood flowing from the wounds. A peak Great Emperor’s sacred body pales in comparison to a peak Heavenly Emperor sacred demon, as this sword clash has proven.
“How interesting.”
Di Sha chuckles softly, the sword mark on his chest healing instantly. His gaze toward Ye Chen carries a hint of approval, truly surprised that a mere Great Emperor could breach his demonic body.
“Two against one is boring. How about a one-on-one?”
Ye Chen twists his neck fiercely, knowing he is outmatched but burning with fighting spirit. They have no way out; only a desperate fight can seize that slim chance of survival. He might die, but he has to try.
“I grant you that qualification.”
Can Zhao’s lips curve slightly, licking his crimson tongue as his interest in this small sacred body grows.
“Just you, come over.”
Ye Chen points his sword at Di Sha and, upon speaking, turns and heads toward the eastern heavens.
“How fun.”
Di Sha shows no anger, only more amusement. He abandons the Ancient Heavenly Court Female Emperor and strides leisurely into the sky, unhurried, like strolling through a garden, eager to see what surprises Ye Chen might bring.
“Come back alive.”
In Nu Di’s small world, Hong Yan sways unsteadily, watching Ye Chen depart. As his figure fades into the distance, an unprecedented fear grips her, afraid that silhouette will truly become a memory. She knows all too well how terrifying his enemy is; in a direct fight, he is surely doomed.
“Our boss has never disappointed the world.”
The Chaos Cauldron hums, while the Chaos Fire and Chaos Thunder flicker, their words full of conviction.
Indeed, Ye Chen left them behind.
To Hong Yan, this feels like leaving a will, entrusting his treasures here.
Because Ye Chen himself knows that this journey leads straight to the gates of hell.
The eyes of the heavenly gods and generals are bloodshot, having seen Ye Chen’s retreating figure all too often—always on the edge of life and death. This time, it might mark the end of his fate.
“Exterminate!”
In the outside world, the sacred demon Can Zhao has launched his attack, covering the vast sky with a single palm.
Bang!
Nu Di steps through the void, forcibly summoning her eternal immortal light to counterattack against the heavens.
Boom! Bang! Boom!
The brief pause ends as the brutal emperor-level battle resumes. Gazing at the sky, various omens appear—lightning and thunder intertwined with destructive light, draped in apocalyptic colors. Blood rain pours down like light rain, some from Can Zhao and some from Nu Di, even their blood clashing in unending warfare.
It’s clear that Nu Di is still at a disadvantage.
From her earlier one-against-two fight, she was gravely injured and has never fully recovered. From start to finish, she’s been fighting with a blood-soaked immortal body. Merely surviving is a miracle, and now in this one-on-one, she’s still suppressed, falling from the sky in blood countless times.
Boom!
In the eastern void, Ye Chen halts, his step collapsing space.
Bang!
Di Sha arrives shortly after, sweeping in with overwhelming demonic energy, standing like a demon god amid it.
“Is this the grave you chose?”
Di Sha glances casually around before turning to Ye Chen with a sinister smile.
“Or perhaps, it’s yours.”
Ye Chen shrugs, appearing unflappable on the surface while secretly gathering his full power. This Heavenly Emperor sacred demon is the strongest foe he’s encountered in his cultivation path; any moment of mercy could mean his end.
“The Great Emperor domain—you’re the most astonishing I’ve seen.”
Di Sha laughs demonically, advancing step by step, a wisp of golden blood coiling around his fingertip.
That blood is Ye Chen’s.
Ye Chen narrows his eyes, blood trickling from his lips. Without Di Sha even attacking, he drew a strand of blood from Ye Chen’s body across the vast void—what kind of divine ability is this? He knows he couldn’t do it.
“Even as an emperor, you’re still an ant.”
Di Sha’s demonic words echo again, and before they finish, he strikes like a ghost.
Ye Chen is on guard, retreating swiftly with Dream Return to Antiquity.
“The path of dreams—interesting.”
Di Sha shadows him perfectly, ignoring Dream Return to Antiquity, thrusting a finger toward Ye Chen’s brow.
“One Thought Eternity.”
Ye Chen grits his teeth, unable to dodge, attempting to freeze time to resolve the crisis.
Unfortunately, this immortal technique is useless against Di Sha.
Not only One Thought Eternity, but even the ethereal emperor’s path becomes a laughable facade.
Pfft!
Golden blood sprays—a finger from Di Sha pierces Ye Chen’s skull on the spot.
Roar!
A dragon’s roar erupts as Ye Chen endures the destruction, defying heaven with the Eight Divisions Heavenly Dragon.
Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!
The massive golden dragon swings its tail dominantly, but before Di Sha, it’s mere illusion. It strikes Di Sha but explodes upon impact, unable to shake his demonic body.
Pfft!
Another spray of golden blood—Ye Chen is sent flying eight thousand miles by a palm strike.
Mid-flight, his sacred body explodes repeatedly.
It’s a horrific sight: sacred bones stained with emperor’s blood scatter across the sky. The war god in the eyes of the world appears more vulnerable than imagined—in the eyes of a Heavenly Emperor sacred demon, he’s truly just an ant.
“What other depths do you have?”
Di Sha chuckles eerily, advancing with unhurried steps, his demeanor arrogant and disdainful. A peak Great Emperor’s sacred body, even one that pioneered the path to enlightenment, means nothing to him.
“Heavenly Emperor versus Great Emperor—what gives you the nerve?”
Ye Chen steadies himself, swaying side to side before coming to a stop, blood streaming from his lips. The most alarming wound is the bloody hole in his brow, encircled by sacred demonic light that even eternity can’t heal, with destructive forces invading his body and ravaging his origin.
“If you’ve got the guts, fight at the same level—I’d hammer you flat.”
Ye Chen curses, using blatant provocation. What if it works? One must have ideals.
“Good provocation.”
Di Sha’s lips curve into a mocking arc, granting Ye Chen’s wish. As he steps forward, an ancient demonic seal appears on his brow, suppressing his emperor-level demonic power to the peak Great Emperor realm. His once overwhelming aura plummets instantly.
Oh? It actually worked.
Ye Chen raises an eyebrow, realizing his opponent has quite the sense of flair.
Or perhaps, the guy is just bored out of his mind.
Di Sha doesn’t deny it. Having been on Taigu Road for endless ages with only Can Zhao for company, finally encountering a lively opponent, he won’t end it quickly. He needs some entertainment.
“It’s not fair—I’m in a weakened state.”
Ye Chen breathes on his eternal immortal sword and wipes it with his sleeve, seeing through Di Sha’s intentions. Since he’s willingly lowering his level, there’s nothing Di Sha wouldn’t do. What if it works?
The curve of Di Sha’s lips grows even more pronounced.
He grants Ye Chen’s wish again, adding another demonic seal to his brow, dropping from peak to mid-level.
“Still not fair—you have bloodline limits.”
Ye Chen acts nonchalant, brushing dust off his shoulder with a rogue’s air, now understanding that Di Sha is going all out for amusement. He has to push it to the limit.
As expected, Di Sha dispels his immortality.
In his view, even without bloodline limits or at mid-level, he can still slaughter Ye Chen at his peak. His path has been one of invincibility; he’s never been defeated at the same level.
Today, that invincible mindset remains.
Ye Chen’s eyes dart around, wondering how to make Di Sha drop even lower.
“Dropping to Quasi-Emperor would be best—the kind I could swat with one palm.”
This emperor’s imagination is quite vivid, but clearly, his opponent isn’t that foolish.
“Enough.”
Ye Chen laughs, twisting his neck fiercely. Peak against mid-level—he’ll beat him to tears.
