Chapter 2980: Eternal Emperor Dao Saint Body

Chapter 2980: Yongheng Didao Shengti Shen

"I have a little donkey, but I never ride it."

In the eerie, pitch-black void, Ye Chen was full of whimsy, like a wandering spirit, drifting back and forth on gusts of unseen wind. He hummed that little tune with such flair.

Nüdi opened her eyes more than once, amused to the point of laughter each time.

Whenever she laughed, Hongyan and the others would glance over, wondering what had the empress so delighted.

The one truly joyful was Ye Dadi, wandering through the Dao and inspired by his surroundings.

People, after all, need to find some amusement when alone for too long. In this boundless darkness with no sound, he could only entertain himself. As long as he could hear his own voice, it proved that Ye Chen was still alive.

He didn't know when his little tune finally faded away.

He sat cross-legged with eyes closed, swaying gently with the wind, carrying the weight of years. More laws surrounded him, circling his consciousness, their Dao sounds lingering endlessly, imprinting the essence of the Dao into his mind.

After many years, he was merging with the Dao once more.

Along this path, he had comprehended too many laws and cultivated too many Daos. He had unified them into chaos, using chaos to form the Dao, and now he sought to unify all these Daos again, infusing them with a power of yongheng.

Here, time held no meaning, yet Nüdi silently kept track for him.

In the third year, the reincarnation law shimmered with light, slowly weaving into the chaos Dao.

In the twelfth year, time and space emerged, fading into the intangible.

In the forty-fifth year, the law of time became a Dao principle, outlining cycles within the chaos.

In the one hundred and sixth year, the space law was etched in.

In the three hundred and seventy-ninth year, yin and yang circled around, heaven and earth united, forming the eight trigrams within the chaos.

From the outside world, only three or five days had passed, but for Ye Chen, it was an extraordinarily long stretch of time. He used his body as a furnace, forging numerous Daos and unifying the various laws within the chaos.

In some unknown year, his consciousness took on the color of yongheng.

In that instant, Nüdi opened her eyes, the sole witness, her supreme state of mind unable to hide her sigh and astonishment. By her calculation, it had taken only a few thousand years in total. That young Shengti, merely at the Great Emperor level, had touched upon yongheng. She, after all, had spent eighty thousand years on it!

Though Ye Chen had taken shortcuts, his talent was truly heaven-defying.

After countless eons, the only one to make her show such shock, besides the first-generation Shengmo, was Ye Chen. In the same era and realm, even the first-generation Shengmo couldn't compare, nor could the true Heavenly Court Female Emperor.

Now, looking again, the endless darkness could no longer conceal Ye Chen's brilliance.

He was like a radiant pearl embedded in the void, his consciousness form enveloped in a glorious haze, with the fire of his primordial spirit igniting once more. His previously shattered primordial spirit was now being rebuilt inch by inch.

This process was incredibly lengthy, taking fully five hundred years.

What followed was the reconstruction of his sacred body. The primordial spirit gave rise to flesh and bones, limbs, organs, meridians—all reformed, including his fundamental Dao origins, all returning in full. His golden body shone with dazzling brilliance.

"Wow, we're still alive?"

Shouts erupted immediately. As Ye Chen rebuilt his golden body, the Chaos Cauldron manifested again, and the divine generals inside were all stunned. They had seen with their own eyes that day when Ye Chen had fallen from the Taigu Road.

"Don't worry, you won't die following him."

Xiao Yuan Huang scratched his monkey fur, stating a profound truth—his seventh brother had the life of a cockroach.

"Honestly, this place is a bit terrifying."

Xie Yun and Situ Nan peered over the cauldron's edge, curiously scanning their surroundings. They saw nothing but emptiness, with occasional bursts of light flickering and vanishing in an instant. There was no concept of space or time.

"The light of yongheng."

Long Ye murmured softly, narrowing his eyes slightly. Ren Wang and Zao Hua exchanged glances, and when they looked at Ye Chen, their eyes sparkled. They could see he was merging Daos, unifying many into one, manifesting the light of yongheng. What a high level of talent it took to comprehend such supreme laws—it was truly heaven-defying.

"Is this the Chaos Dao or the Yongheng Dao?"

"It has transformed chaos into yongheng, a kind of evolution and sublimation of the Dao."

"So, does that mean he's cultivating the same Dao as Nüdi?"

"Clearly not. This guy took shortcuts and forged an immortal Dao."

"Not every Dao can evolve like this."

The group of old-timers huddled together, figuring out Ye Dadi's moves completely. The Chaos Dao was diverse and complex, and he had stewed it all together. Once, the Dao gave rise to all things; now, it was the unification of all Daos.

"You might call it taking shortcuts, but it's more like blazing a new trail."

Donghuang Tai Xin smiled lightly. If Ye Chen had no insight into yongheng whatsoever, even merging many Daos wouldn't lead to it. This was likely the shortcut he had found, though reaching the true shore of yongheng would still require much time to settle. This path wasn't one just anyone could walk.

"What you're saying goes over my head. I just know he's super impressive right now."

Xiao Ling Wa squatted on Donghuang Tai Xin's shoulder, munching on a source stone with rhythmic crunches. The Chaos Dao evolving into yongheng sounded high-end and grand. Looking at Ye Dadi's aura, it was clearly more dazzling than before. Surviving in this eerie place proved everything.

Crunch! Crunch!

As the divine generals watched, Ye Chen's imperial body was fully reconstructed, glowing golden all over, flickering with the light of yongheng. It was as if forged in eternity, reborn and transformed, with even his Dao principles dyed in immortal glory.

"The Yongheng Didao Shengti Shen—now that's domineering."

Ren Wang stroked his beard, not sure if he'd heard it before or just came up with the name on the spot.

"If he masters this, any bloodline limits are just child's play."

Long Ye was excited, favoring yongheng's immortality over bloodline limits. He had analyzed it earlier—if it came to a war of endurance, undying resilience couldn't match yongheng's inexhaustibility. In the ancient Heavenly Court war, the first-generation Shengmo had likely lost to the ancient Heavenly Court Female Emperor for this reason.

In the yongheng subspace, Nüdi laughed, no longer hiding it.

In the end, she had bet right. That young Shengti was even more astonishing than she imagined. Whether in comprehension or Dao evolution, he had already stepped into the gateway of yongheng, with a brighter road ahead.

Hongyan, deep in meditation, opened her eyes again and glanced sideways at Nüdi.

Seriously, if there's something making you so happy, share it with everyone!

"It must be that Ye Chen has undergone nirvana."

Di Huang took a deep breath, seeing how joyfully Nüdi was smiling, without a trace of gloom.

Nüdi said nothing, silently counting time for Ye Chen again.

Ye Chen had rebuilt his imperial body but hadn't awakened. Strands of yongheng Dao principles could be seen etching into his body, vanishing without a trace, but with each strand, the yongheng light on him grew more intense. He was like a brilliant sun suspended in the void, as if he were yongheng itself, as if he were the Dao. The strange winds in the ether could no longer shake him—they couldn't budge him at all.

Two years, three years, ten years...

In this timeless void, yongheng brought its own cycles.

Pop!

At some point, a faint sound startled the divine generals in the cauldron.

It was the curse seal on Ye Chen's forehead, shattering.

Earlier, Ye Chen had been powerless against it, but now it was directly destroyed. This might be what Nüdi meant by its own purpose—Ye Chen falling from the Taigu Road with his consciousness intact was partly due to the Shengmo curse.

"Thank you."

Ye Chen smiled, his words audible only to the ancient Heavenly Court Female Emperor. He understood her intentions and the curse seal's role. The ethereal forces couldn't shatter the curse, which had preserved his lingering consciousness.

Now that he had grasped some yongheng, the curse had no value left.

Nüdi glanced at him, her expression unamused, as if she knew how many times he had cursed her in his mind.

When she closed her eyes, she also invoked yongheng, forcefully breaking the curse.

With the Shengmo curse seal destroyed, the yongheng light throughout her body was no longer dim. It stabilized completely, any signs of separation merging once more, and her cheeks regained their healthy glow.

In a way, both she and Ye Chen should thank the first-generation Shengmo.

That two-birds-with-one-stone curse was both a calamity and a fortune, where blessing and disaster intertwined, hard to distinguish.

Ah...!

If you listened carefully, you could hear roars and howls laden with raging fury.

It was the first-generation Shengmo.

His sword, named Zhuxian, was like a generous benefactor, always bringing fortune and opportunities whenever it caused trouble for Ye Chen. And as its owner, he seemed to be a good-hearted provider of chances too.

"Not bad."

Ye Chen chuckled, finally opening his eyes and exhaling a turbid breath. His eyes shot out beams of yongheng light, piercing through the void, with Dao essences evolving within—both the chaos of all things and yongheng.

What delighted him most was the surging power in his body.

His Dao had undergone nirvana, and his divine energy had transformed as well. Though not fully yongheng divine energy, it was cloaked in yongheng's glory. Even without being in a bloodline limit state, he felt a sense of undying resilience.

"This, perhaps, is immortality."

Ye Chen's lips curved with a smile as he lightly clenched his fist, thunder tearing through his palm. If he were fighting the purple-haired Tianmo Heavenly Emperor now, he had absolute confidence to beat him until he cried.

"Old Seven, let me have some of your blood!"

Xiao Yuan Huang poked his furry head over the cauldron's edge, his eyes gleaming brightly.

"This is a weird request I've never heard before."

Ye Chen said, already reaching into the Chaos Cauldron and poking a hole in Xiao Yuan Huang's body.

The divine generals watched, their mouths twitching.

"Go to hell! I meant your blood, not to bleed me out!"

Xiao Yuan Huang cursed loudly, his face turning pitch black.

Ye Dadi just played dumb—it was your fault for not being clear.

Pfft!

Xiao Yuan Huang spat out a mouthful of blood with dramatic flair, nearly losing his balance, whether from injury or anger.

"Too much liver fire can harm your health."

Ye Chen spoke earnestly, already striding forward. He had to return where he came from—the Taigu Road still had a bunch of troublemakers waiting for him, especially that purple-haired Tianmo Heavenly Emperor.

Awkwardly, his step didn't land steadily, and he face-planted.

When he got up, he let out an embarrassed laugh. He had grasped some yongheng, but not fully. To wander freely in this emptiness, he still lacked the skill—after all, he wasn't the ancient Heavenly Court Female Emperor.

"I think it's more reliable if you bring me back."

Ye Chen coughed, certain Nüdi could hear him.

Nüdi could hear, but she ignored him, merely pointing out a direction.

"Fine, you're the boss."

Ye Chen's face darkened completely. Unable to move freely, he had no choice but to swim.

Yes, swim.

He was like a frog, paddling with his arms and legs toward the direction Nüdi indicated.

It had to be said, the motion was quite eye-catching.
