Chapter 2928: Slaughtering the Heavenly Emperor

Ren Wang’s mouth dropped open slightly.

“How can this be?”

Zao Hua Shen Wang also furrowed his brow slightly.

They had long known about the connection between Ye Chen and Di Zun. With the ninth samsara gone, replaced by the first, a fully realized holy body had transformed into a peak great emperor. This bizarre change shocked not only them but also the Three Emperors.

“Did he comprehend samsara?”

Dong Huang Nu Huang murmured softly, exerting her utmost imperial vision to observe Di Zun. There was no doubt it was him, a peak emperor without question, yet she could not see through his principles. It was not that her insight was lacking; Di Zun was simply too terrifying, concealing himself from her scrutiny.

“Did he comprehend samsara?”

Tian Ming Er Di also murmured, having previously concluded that Di Zun could not manifest in the world.

Yet the current scene utterly defied all laws.

In front of Ling Xiao Bao Dian, after a simple “I hope you’ve been well,” no further words came from within the hall, and Di Zun remained silent. He stood there quietly, his back turned to the people and the common folk, his weathered silhouette like a figure etched by the passage of time.

“Brother.”

Di Xuan choked back sobs, her face streaked with tears, as she took another step forward. However, the aura of a peak emperor prevented her from advancing.

Among those present, only Dong Huang Nu Huang could approach, and she had already done so.

When she circled around to face Di Zun, what she saw was a wooden, expressionless face. His murmurs were inaudible, his eyes hollow and vacant. No matter how she looked, he seemed like a puppet, identical in appearance to Ye Chen, bearing the same marks of age and hardship.

“Di Zun?”

Yao Chi whispered tentatively, not daring to act rashly for fear of harming Di Zun or Ye Chen.

Di Zun did not respond, standing like a statue, utterly still, with only his hair swaying and his robes fluttering lightly.

As she gazed, blood began to trickle from the corners of Dong Huang Nu Huang’s eyes. She had stared at Di Zun’s eyes for too long, trying to unravel the mysteries shrouding him, only to suffer a backlash from the unseen forces. Di Zun was too powerful, immune to any probing, and this included even a great emperor like her. The gap between an entry-level emperor and a peak one was as vast as heaven and earth.

“Bring him to the Tian Jie.”

“Bring him to the Ming Tu.”

Dao Zu and Ming Di both sent their messages, speaking from behind barriers that obscured their clear view, needing a closer look to understand.

Ji Ning Shuang shook her head lightly, her expression tinged with self-mockery.

In other words, Tian Ming Er Di had overestimated Dong Huang Nu Huang and underestimated Xian Wu Di Zun.

Even in dreams spanning eternity, one could not move a peak emperor.

The Three Emperors of heaven, earth, and humanity all fell silent, merely watching quietly. Yao Chi was relatively composed, but Hong Jun and Ming Di felt a strong urge to descend upon the human realm, eager to see why Di Zun had manifested—whether by his own will or external force.

They could not discern it, let alone Ren Wang and Di Xuan.

The events of this day were too strange. Ye Chen had secluded himself for twenty years, twenty years of enlightenment, and somehow brought forth Di Zun.

Boom!

A booming sound suddenly erupted, shattering the prolonged silence and shaking hearts to the core.

Tian Ming Er Di turned their gazes toward the edge of the vast starry sky.

Dong Huang Nu Huang looked in the same direction, able to peer through the boundless void to see a massive demonic pillar piercing through heaven and earth.

Indeed, it was the Qian Tian Demon Pillar.

Unlike before, this pillar was enormously larger, exuding demonic energy laced with supreme emperor aura.

“Tian Di level.”

Ming Di narrowed his eyes slightly, understanding the pillar’s immense size. It was no ordinary great emperor’s domain pillar.

“Destroy it,” Dao Zu said immediately.

Without needing his words, Dong Huang Nu Huang had already moved, unleashing a Meng Hui Wan Gu strike. Her crystalline jade hand reached out through the void. Ming Di could see it, and so could she—that this was no great emperor-level pillar, and a heavenly emperor might emerge from within.

However, before her palm could land, the pillar hummed with vibration.

Then, a halo of light burst forth, obliterating the cosmos in that starry region and even forcing Dong Huang Nu Huang to retreat.

Boom!

Following that, a jade foot stepped out from the pillar, landing with a tremor that shook the star domain. Then came a demonic figure, clad in emperor armor and wielding a supreme emperor sword, her destructive emperor aura sweeping across the eight directions.

“Hei Lian Nu Huang.” Dong Huang Nu Huang recognized her upon sight.

In the past, Hei Lian Nu Huang’s dao body had invaded the realms, accompanied by two mid-level emperors. Because Hei Lian Nu Huang had trespassed into Da Chu, she had been slapped twice by Ruo Xi and subsequently destroyed by the united forces of the supreme peaks.

Unthinkable that, a hundred years later, her true heavenly emperor self had arrived.

“This is too soon.”

Ming Di frowned. The pillar had descended only three instants ago, and already a heavenly demon emperor had emerged.

“Ruo Xi’s fusion has weakened the realms’ suppression,” Dao Zu provided the definitive answer. The people of the realms felt a subtle reduction in invisible pressure, and the same applied to outsiders entering. This change had enabled the descent of a heavenly emperor-level pillar at such speed, with Ruo Xi as the root cause.

“The realms have such a wonderful aura.”

Hei Lian Nu Huang closed her beautiful eyes slightly, inhaling contentedly with an expression of enjoyment. Her words flowed like an ethereal yet demonic melody, carrying supreme demonic power that disrupted the minds of Xi Chen and Mo Zun, who arrived later.

“This woman looks oddly familiar.”

Xi Chen steadied himself and gazed across the void, scanning her form from top to bottom.

“Hei Lian Nu Huang.”

Mo Zun said calmly. He had seen her during the invasion of the three mid-level emperors—more precisely, her dao body.

Bang! Boom! Boom!

As they spoke, the pillar hummed again, and nine figures emerged together, all heavenly demon emperors clad in emperor armor. Their supreme emperor auras soared, their rolling demonic energy merging into a sky-covering cloud that obscured the starry cosmos.

No wonder she was a heavenly emperor—her subordinates were not mere demon lords but demon emperors, a full nine of them.

The cultivators of the realms who arrived later turned pale. One heavenly emperor and nine great emperors—this lineup was overwhelming.

“The realms actually have an emperor.”

Hei Lian Nu Huang finally opened her eyes, her lips curving slightly. She first glanced at the Tian Jie and Ming Tu before turning to Dong Huang Nu Huang.

“Unexpected.”

Behind her, the nine heavenly demon emperors all sneered, licking their crimson lips as they looked at Dong Huang Nu Huang with eyes full of savage malice and barely concealed lust. They all seemed like connoisseurs of such things, quite the admirers of beauty.

Ji Ning Shuang said nothing, her delicate brows furrowing slightly.

In a one-on-one fight with Hei Lian Nu Huang, she was confident of victory, but the problem was the nine heavenly demon emperors.

“Destroy her.”

Hei Lian Nu Huang said casually, referring, of course, to Dong Huang Nu Huang.

As soon as she spoke, she stepped forward, intending to head toward Da Chu.

However, in less than a fraction of an instant, she returned, back to her original position.

And before her stood an additional person.

It was Di Zun, who had single-handedly gripped Hei Lian Nu Huang’s neck, lifting her into the air.

Gulp!

Xi Chen swallowed hard in secret, and even the taciturn Mo Zun was stunned. The cultivators of the realms stared in wide-eyed shock.

That was a heavenly emperor! Yet here she was, held by the neck with one hand, unable to struggle free.

“I must say, this act of dominance is quite impressive.”

Ming Di took a deep breath, his words laden with meaning, as he clicked his tongue and sighed endlessly.

“Impressively done.”

Dao Zu did not speak, but the look in his eyes perfectly conveyed those two words.

Well, after all, manifesting in the world once in a rare while, one had to accomplish something to showcase their grandeur.

And undeniably, it was quite striking.

“How... how is this possible?”

The nine heavenly demon emperors were completely petrified. They had just assumed their attack postures against Dong Huang Nu Huang, but this sudden turn froze some of their movements in an instant.

Who the hell was that? Did he have to be so formidable? A heavenly emperor defeated so swiftly and utterly.

The nine emperors wanted to ask, and so did the cultivators of the realms.

“It’s Ye Chen’s appearance, but he’s not the Shi Huang of Da Chu.”

“It’s actually an emperor, a peak great emperor.”

“How does he look exactly like the holy body? Where’s Ye Chen? Why hasn’t he shown himself?”

“Whether he comes or not, it hardly matters now.”

“True, a heavenly demon emperor is being held immobile with one hand—stronger than a fully realized holy body!”

“Our realms actually hid such a world-shaking emperor.”

Discussions erupted, forming waves of voices. Every person in the realms, from the supreme peaks to the lowest heavenly realm novices, stood tall with pride. That individual not only upheld their dignity but utterly dominated a heavenly emperor!

“This...”

From the Tian Mo Pillar, numerous demon soldiers and generals surged forth, barely having time to show off before they stumbled in shock at the sight. Had they seen right? A heavenly emperor held by the neck—did the realms have someone this powerful?

“Di Zun, truly lives up to his name.”

Dong Huang Nu Huang murmured, her emperor’s composure shaken. The supreme among emperors—his title was well-earned.

“Impossible.”

The one most deserving of doubt was Hei Lian Nu Huang herself. She could still move her mouth, though not her body, her beautiful eyes bulging and pupils contracting in disbelief as she stared at Di Zun. Where had he come from, and why was he so powerful?

In that fraction of an instant earlier, she still hadn’t processed it. One step forward, and then back, with someone suddenly in front of her—not just anyone, but someone gripping her neck with one hand in an emperor’s seal, from which she could not escape.

“You fall far short of him.”

Di Zun finally spoke, his supreme emperor eyes hollow, his words equally devoid of emotion.

The “him” he referred to was, of course, Mo Tian Di.

Indeed, that was the Mo Tian Di who had been dragged into mutual destruction on the ancient path. Emperors varied in strength, and so did heavenly emperors. This Hei Lian Nu Huang and Mo Tian Di were worlds apart.

Pfft!

In mere moments, Hei Lian Nu Huang’s emperor body began to crumble inch by inch, dissolved by an invisible emperor force into samsara. In the domain of time, he might not match Ming Di; in the domain of space, he might not match Dao Zu; but in the domain of samsara, among the 130 emperors of Xuan Huang, including Dong Huang Nu Huang, no one could compare.

Fear etched itself into Hei Lian Nu Huang’s eyes.

A heavenly emperor’s body, nearly indestructible, was being disintegrated inch by inch by a great emperor, yet she felt no pain. The absence of pain made it all the more terrifying. Existence was real, but painless disintegration was erasure.

“I don’t believe it.”

Hei Lian Nu Huang roared hoarsely, igniting her emperor dao primordial spirit and gathering her emperor demonic power to forcibly break free from Di Zun’s seal.

Alas, all of it was futile before Di Zun.

With her body destroyed, her primordial spirit and true form followed, dissolving inch by inch in the same painless manner.

Ah...!

Hei Lian Nu Huang’s roar carried notes of reluctance and tragedy. She was a heavenly emperor, defeated so miserably. In the past, her dao body had rampaged freely, but now, her true self had arrived without harming a single soul in the realms, only to be annihilated.
