Chapter 2639: The Zhuxian Curse

Under the eyes of the multitude, Ye Chen stood still like a statue, showing no sign of movement. There were simply too many Tian Bing and Tian Jiang, and hidden in the shadows were countless terrifying Tian Ting experts. He simply couldn't kill Yin Yang.

He knew his own limitations well. Even with his mastery of various Di Dao Xian Fa, he couldn't pull it off. Those formidable Xian Shu came with their own immense costs, and before he could even reach Yin Yang, his Fa Li would likely be depleted.

After all, he was in the midst of Ying Jie and lacked the Sheng Ti bloodline or the surging Qi Xue to sustain him. Relying solely on a few traces of Di Yun wasn't enough to handle the drain.

Suddenly, fresh blood overflowed from the corners of Ye Chen's mouth.

"Shenzi."

The Sixth Dianzhu hurriedly stepped forward.

Ye Chen said nothing. He abruptly turned and entered the city tower, but his step faltered, and with a thud, he half-knelt on the ground, spitting out a mouthful of fresh blood.

"Shenzi."

The Sixth Dianzhu followed him in, his expression changing dramatically at the sight. It was clear Ye Chen was severely injured, and the wounds were extraordinarily grave.

"Do not approach me."

Ye Chen groaned in pain, his face deathly pale, his forehead veins bulging. The blood surging from his mouth wouldn't stop.

The Sixth Dianzhu didn't dare move recklessly. He saw strands of multicolored Xian Guang suddenly appear on Ye Chen's body, flickering in and out, carrying a strange force that was ravaging Ye Chen's Yuan Shen, trying to drag him into Jiu You.

Crack! Crack!

Those sounds rang out immediately.

They were the sounds of Ye Chen's bones fracturing. Cracks formed on his body's surface, with fresh blood gushing from the fissures. Inside him, his limbs, bones, internal organs, and meridians were all being utterly destroyed.

"Damn it."

Ye Chen roared lowly, his face twisting into a ferocious expression that was terrifying to behold. His once-clear eyes were now filled with bloodshot veins, red as if dripping blood.

The Sixth Dianzhu didn't understand what was happening, but Ye Chen knew he was being targeted by someone in secret.

To call it a person wasn't quite accurate.

More precisely, it was a sword—a multicolored Xian Jian.

That was right, the Zhu Xian Jian. It was using a truly immense technique to disrupt his Ying Jie, employing an extremely vicious curse. The curse's power was devastating.

That sword was relentless, knowing Ye Chen was in Ying Jie yet refusing to let up. It ignored the Ying Jie barriers and attacked from the void.

"Be destroyed."

Ye Chen snorted coldly and invoked Ni Shi Lun Hui, using its Lun Hui power to counter and eradicate the curse. Otherwise, he would be consumed, his soul scattered.

In the past, even the female Sheng Ti and Di Huang had fallen victim to it one after another, so what chance did he have? That damned multicolored Xian Jian was far too strange, its divine abilities all defying heaven.

However, while Ni Shi Lun Hui could counter the curse, it couldn't eliminate it. It wasn't that Ni Shi Lun Hui lacked profundity; it was just that the Zhu Xian curse was too terrifying, surpassing certain limits and beyond the scope of what Ni Shi Lun Hui could affect.

Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!

Blood sprayed again, and Ye Chen's body was now drenched in it. He didn't know how many bones and meridians had shattered, and his Ben Yuan and Dao Gen were also suffering calamity.

The worst part was his Yuan Shen, already enveloped by the multicolored Xian Guang. Every strand of it contained destructive power that couldn't be blocked.

"Shenzi."

The Sixth Dianzhu's face changed, and he stepped forward again. But as soon as he touched Ye Chen, a force from the void forcefully repelled him, sending him staggering back and coughing up mouthfuls of fresh blood.

"Suppress it. Suppress it for me."

Ye Chen's eyes were blood-red as he howled hoarsely, a roar from the depths of his soul. He was still in Ying Jie and hadn't returned to Zhu Tian—how could he perish in Tian Jie?

In that moment, he went mad, blood-sacrificing his Ben Yuan and Dao Ze, enhancing them with Di Dao Shen Yun to fuel Ni Shi Lun Hui and combat the Zhu Xian curse.

Remarkably, his disintegrating body actually stabilized. Though the curse's power was fierce, it was forcibly held at bay, repeatedly surging back only to fail against some defense, raging in frustration.

"How could this be?"

The Sixth Dianzhu's face was ashen and bloodless. He had only lightly touched Ye Chen and ended up this injured, showing just how terrifying that multicolored Xian Guang was. One could only imagine the torment Ye Chen was enduring—if it were him, he'd be destroyed in an instant.

"Suppress it. Suppress it for me."

Ye Chen continued to roar, like a general guarding Hua Shan, refusing to yield an inch. It was the Zhu Xian Jian, after all—if he showed any mercy, the curse would swallow him whole.

His resistance wasn't without effect.

Even as the Zhu Xian curse rampaged, it couldn't destroy his Yuan Shen or erase his undying will. In their unseen battle, he finally held his ground.

"What a domineering force."

A voice suddenly spoke, and another figure manifested in the city tower. Upon closer inspection, it was Shura Tianzun, who had rushed over upon hearing of Ye Chen's return.

The Tianzun from the Shura realm had fully recovered to his peak state and wanted to join forces with Ye Chen to see if they could eliminate Yin Yang. But from the looks of it, that was impossible—Ye Chen was too badly wounded.

"Tianzun, why is Shenzi like this?"

The Sixth Dianzhu asked hurriedly.

"A curse."

Shura Tianzun said calmly, his eyes narrowing as he scrutinized Ye Chen with all his might, seeing the multicolored Xian Mang tormenting him.

Even with his experience, he couldn't help but be shocked. This curse's power was overwhelmingly strong, terrifying enough to make even him feel a chill. If he were afflicted, he'd likely fare worse than Ye Chen.

"Playing dirty tricks again."

The Sixth Dianzhu cursed loudly, certain it was the Tian Ting's scheme. They didn't dare face Ye Chen head-on, so they resorted to underhanded tactics with a curse to cripple him.

Shura Tianzun remained silent, unsure if it was the Tian Ting's doing. He only knew the curse far exceeded his understanding, strong enough to make one's soul tremble.

In the end, Shura Tianzun took action, scattering a wave of Xian Guang that formed a protective barrier around Ye Chen's Dao Gen. As for Ye Chen's Yuan Shen, he couldn't protect it, as it was isolated by the multicolored Xian Guang.

Even so, the barrier he created was constantly eroded by the curse. In just three to five moments, it was already riddled with damage.

Helpless, he had to cast more Xian Guang.

The Sixth Dianzhu coughed dryly, wanting to help but not knowing how. He was skilled at fighting and battling, but countering a curse was beyond him.

Fortunately, Shura Tianzun was there.

This was a supreme ruthless figure who had once slaughtered the Tian Ting forces, turning them upside down, just like Ye Chen—equally heaven-defying, with powerful means of his own.

"Attack the city."

From outside the tower, shouts echoed as the Tian Ting army surged like a tidal wave, sweeping across the sky in even greater numbers than before, with many more veteran Xian Zun among them, ready to gang up on Ye Chen at any moment.

"War!"

In response, the Hua Shan soldiers roared resoundingly, activating countless attack formations that unleashed beams of divine light, obliterating swaths of Tian Bing and Tian Jiang.

The Sixth Dianzhu snorted coldly, glanced at Ye Chen one last time, and stepped out of the city tower. Gripping a massive halberd that hummed and trembled, he charged at the Tian Bing and Tian Jiang on the walls, sweeping away a large group with a single strike.

As the fighting went on, the Tian Bing and Tian Jiang began to retreat, withdrawing just as they had advanced—or more accurately, fleeing.

It wasn't surprising, for two figures had now appeared on the city walls: one was Shura Tianzun, and the other was Ye Chen. They stood like two monumental pillars side by side.

Of course, the Tianzun was the real deal, but the Ye Chen was an illusion created by Shura Tianzun using secret techniques to intimidate the Tian Ting.

And it worked perfectly.

Glancing at the Tian Ting army, everyone wore expressions of sheer terror, staring at the city walls, at Shura Tianzun and Ye Chen. Those two were exceptionally ruthless—one Ye Chen alone was trouble enough, let alone with Shura Tianzun added, making them even more formidable.

The Xian Zun of the Tian Ting, upon seeing the pair, had their morale drop a notch.

Many of them had participated in the weisha of the Tianzun, and many in the weisha of Ye Chen, so they knew all too well how dangerous these two were. With them standing there, who would dare attack? Only someone tired of living.

"Come if you can beat us; if not, go cool off where you came from."

Shura Tianzun scolded, then turned and headed back to the city tower. His words still had their effect, deterring the entire Tian Ting army from making a move.

"How imposing!"

The Hua Shan soldiers exclaimed in admiration, standing even straighter. One Ye Chen was enough to make the Tian Bing and Tian Jiang fearful, and Shura Tianzun's arrival added another layer of dark shadow to that fear.

Only the Sixth Dianzhu remained silent, his brows furrowed. He knew the secret—Shura Tianzun was bluffing. If the Tian Ting really attacked, Ye Chen wouldn't just be unable to fight; even self-defense would be tough. They wouldn't even need a Xian Zun—a single Xing Jun could end him.

In the city tower, Ye Chen's roars hadn't ceased, though they weren't as intense as before. He had stabilized his position, holding firm, and didn't dare withdraw Ni Shi Lun Hui, as only its power could counter the curse.

Maintaining Ni Shi Lun Hui constantly took a massive toll, leaving his condition wretched. The rate at which his surging Qi Xue was depleting was alarmingly fast. At this pace, it wouldn't be long before the secret technique drained him into a dried husk.

Shura Tianzun was perceptive, crushing pills one by one and channeling their surging Jing Yuan into Ye Chen to replenish his Fa Li. He could see that in this war of attrition, having Fa Li support might give them a chance to win; without it, Ye Chen was doomed to lose.

"Does the Tian Ting really have so many talents?"

Shura Tianzun sighed as well. Being able to wield such a domineering curse meant he had underestimated that dynasty—it was teeming with capable people, which explained how it dominated the upper realms.

"Take me back to Hua Shan."

At some point, Ye Chen spoke, his voice hoarse and faint, with fresh blood still flowing unstoppable from his mouth.

He needed to return to Hua Shan, to borrow its Di Yun. If the Di Yun assisted, Ni Shi Lun Hui's power would grow stronger, likely suppressing the Zhu Xian curse.

In essence, he needed the power of the emperor.

And Di Yun was that imperial power. Enhancing Ni Shi Lun Hui with it would be like adding Di Wei to the Lun Hui, absolutely capable of subduing the curse's force.

Shura Tianzun didn't delay, quickly creating clones, each carrying a storage bag filled with pills to continue supplying Fa Li.

Then, he tore open a Yu Men with his bare hands and carefully sent Ye Chen through it, transmitting him to the Hua Shan main base.

As for himself, he stayed behind. With the Tian Ting army watching like tigers, his presence would serve as a powerful deterrent, buying Hua Shan precious time.

"Will Shenzi be alright?"

The Sixth Dianzhu asked quietly, full of worry, for the earlier scene had been all too frightening.

"He won't die in the short term."

Shura Tianzun said indifferently, gazing through the void at Yin Yang, filled with regret. Back in that peach blossom forest, he should have eliminated that one. It would have removed a major enemy.

Now, though, it was troublesome. Killing Yin Yang was clearly impossible—Ye Chen lacked the confidence to reach him, let alone Shura Tianzun himself. The Tian Ting had too many talents.
