Chapter 2361: A Coffin Breaks Ten Thousand Laws

Boom! Rumble!

The desolate starry sky was far from peaceful. No heavenly tribulation lightning appeared, yet the booming sounds were deafening, all caused by that enormous coffin. Ancient and heavy, it made the entire cosmos hum as it moved.

"I feel chills all over my body." Xiao Ling Wa on Ye Chen's shoulder shivered, raising its little head and staring blankly at the coffin. It was incredibly huge.

"Proving once again how wise it was to pull her out of Da Chu." Ye Chen rubbed his eyes as he looked on, realizing that Tian Zhi's heavenly tribulation was no simple matter. Crossing it in Da Chu would have affected everyone around.

"A coffin-shaped heavenly tribulation is truly bizarre." The group of elders stroked their chins, their eyes flashing with deep meaning, unable to discern the origin of this divine punishment.

"I sense it's even more terrifying than the Emperor Dao Law Body Tribulation." Di Lao stroked his beard thoughtfully. The people of Da Chu were all exceptional, and the princess of the Seven-Colored Peacock Clan was the most outstanding among them.

More people from Da Chu were stirred, flocking out of the various heavenly gates in droves. Hearing it was a coffin-shaped heavenly tribulation, even many elders in seclusion emerged in groups to watch.

Buzz!

The massive coffin trembled violently and pressed down from the sky.

Bang!

Accompanied by the roar, that section of starry sky collapsed instantly, unable to withstand the coffin's immense pressure. It was no mere coffin; it was like an entire mountain range, making anyone beneath it seem as insignificant as an ant.

Tian Zhi's expression turned stern, with immortal patterns etched on her brow as she unleashed her full combat power. Yet, she could barely resist the coffin's suppression, staggering back and vomiting blood, her body of immortal radiance dimming significantly.

"A Dao heart that does not die means the body will not perish." Ye Chen quickly reminded her. Though he had never seen this type of heavenly tribulation before, it was still a tribulation, and only by fearing nothing and refusing to submit could one achieve a transcendent rebirth.

Tian Zhi nodded, forming seals with one hand and invoking her Emperor Dao immortal techniques.

Immediately, a hundred-zhang illusory figure materialized around her, enveloping her delicate form. It was her outer Dao immortal manifestation, identical to her in appearance—or rather, an enlarged version of herself. This fearsome form resembled the domineering outer aspect of the Desolate Ancient Saint Body.

Even with her hundred-zhang outer Dao immortal manifestation, she remained as tiny as an ant beneath the coffin. All the onlookers could see was the massive coffin; her presence was completely overshadowed.

"Up!"

Tian Zhi let out a cold snort, raising her hands to the sky, using her ant-like strength to forcibly lift the coffin.

The sight was truly shocking.

Gulp!

The spectators couldn't help but swallow hard. This girl seemed frail, but she was incredibly fierce.

Buzz!

Her resistance seemed to anger the unseen laws, causing the massive coffin to tremble again and dive down once more, carrying destructive force to crush the resister into dust.

Tian Zhi shattered the void with a step, dodging the suppression in an instant, soaring through the ethereal space straight to the nine heavens. She landed on the coffin and summoned a dazzling Dao sword, slashing down from above.

Clang!

The sword clashed with the coffin, producing a crisp sound and sparking brilliant flames.

Then, Tian Zhi was sent flying backward.

The Dao sword in her hand shattered as well—not because it was weak, but because the coffin was extraordinarily hard. Her peak strike left not even a mark on it.

"So hard?" Xiao Ling Wa exclaimed in astonishment.

Ye Chen furrowed his brow as well. Though he couldn't identify the coffin's material, he knew it was incredibly tough. If possible, he wanted to go up and examine it, to test its hardness himself.

Clang! Bang! Clink!

As they spoke, metallic collision sounds rang out repeatedly.

Tian Zhi reformed her Dao sword, infusing it with her origin and bloodline power, managing to clash head-on with the coffin. Each time it charged, she forcefully repelled it, but every clash shook her to spit blood, and each time her Dao sword shattered, she had to remake it. Still, she couldn't break through the coffin.

The scene of her battling the coffin left the onlookers with strange expressions. This heavenly tribulation was too odd; none had ever seen anything like it. They didn't know how to overcome it—was it by enduring a set time, or by completely destroying the coffin? Even Quasi-Emperor level experts couldn't give a clear answer.

"If you can't beat it, just run." A loud, boisterous voice suddenly rang out.

The speaker was Ye Chen's Dao body, with nine figures lined up neatly, all coming to watch the fight.

Ye Chen's Dao bodies were always eye-catching wherever they went, never staying quiet.

Indeed, Tian Zhi turned and fled. Continuing this fight would either get her crushed by the coffin or shaken to pieces. Each time she repelled it, her immortal body suffered a backlash.

Buzz!

The massive coffin trembled, seeing her escape, and charged after her relentlessly. It had no fancy secret techniques or divine abilities—just a straightforward ram, as if declaring to the world: I am sheer force.

And it truly was. Everywhere it passed, one dead star after another was obliterated, turning to ash without even scattering debris.

"If that were a magical artifact, it would be incredibly dominant." Di Lao said meaningfully.

No one disagreed. Something that massive and tough would be highly effective, especially in large-scale wars. One charge from that coffin would outdo any other weapon.

Ye Chen walked through the void, following along, stroking his chin as he pondered whether this massive coffin or the Lingxiao Treasure Hall was harder. If they collided, the impact would be tremendous.

Boom! Bang! Boom!

The vast starry sky turned chaotic because of Tian Zhi and the coffin, leaving destruction in their wake. No star could withstand the coffin's pressure.

Tian Zhi's speed was impressive; since she couldn't win, she ran without directly confronting it, determined to outlast the set time until the coffin dissipated, just like with the Law Body Tribulation.

But she underestimated this heavenly tribulation. The coffin chased more fiercely with no sign of fading, ramming all the way as if intent on driving her to the edge of the universe.

Even with her good temper, Tian Zhi couldn't help but feel like cursing. What the hell are you doing? Was advancing to Quasi-Emperor easy for me? Is this coffin meant to bury me?

Boom! Bang!

The roaring continued, creating a massive commotion.

The scene in the starry sky was quite a spectacle: Tian Zhi fleeing ahead, the coffin in hot pursuit, and behind them, Ye Chen and the others following in a chaotic swarm, one after another.

Such disturbances were hard to ignore.

In the current heavens, there were plenty of idle people. Whenever something big happened, they showed up immediately and spread the news far and wide.

This time was no different, with crowds gathering, a dense black mass.

"What is that?" Oncoming cultivators first spotted the coffin; it was so large it could be seen from afar, making Tian Zhi seem tiny in comparison.

"Let me calculate—it's probably a coffin." The elders gathered, each acting like seasoned fortune-tellers, stroking their beards as their aura grew more profound.

"It's way too big." The younger ones gaped, mouths hanging open for a long time.

"Heavenly tribulation—retreat quickly!" Tian Zhi flew through, transmitting her words with divine sense. Things were chaotic enough; she didn't want anyone else caught in the tribulation, let alone a crowd.

Her words were highly effective. Those who heard it changed color and hastily backed away, shocked and bewildered. A mountain-sized coffin as a heavenly tribulation?

Some didn't believe it and foolishly approached for a closer look.

Then, those people started smoking all over. That part of the starry sky had no lightning, yet thunder suddenly manifested, striking anyone who entered in an instant.

Now, everyone believed it and dared not tempt fate, fleeing far away with even more astonished expressions. The elders, in particular, had seen all kinds of tribulations, but never one involving a coffin.

Boom!

Under the world's gaze, another star was destroyed. Thankfully, it was a dead star; otherwise, any mortals or cultivators on it would have faced catastrophic disaster.

Ye Chen pursued the fastest, his brow furrowing slightly as he noticed the coffin growing stronger and larger while chasing Tian Zhi.

Not just him— Tian Lao and Di Lao noticed too, their old eyes narrowing with grim faces.

Many elders activated their heavenly eyes to observe, and some even tried divination. But at that moment, they were all rubbing their eyes, seeing double and feeling their heads buzz.

"Don't run anymore; it has no time limit—you have to smash it." Ye Chen sent a message to Tian Zhi. The longer it dragged on, the more disadvantageous it would be as the coffin kept growing and strengthening.

Without him saying it, Tian Zhi had already stopped; it was her tribulation, and she felt it most acutely.

Buzz!

With a deep hum, the coffin flew in for another charge, carrying thunderous might and unmatched dominance.

Tian Zhi stepped forward, pushing out with both hands to block it head-on.

For this, she paid a heavy price: her hundred-zhang outer Dao immortal manifestation shattered inch by inch, the backlash affecting her true body, her exquisite immortal form shrouded in blood.

Puff!

Tian Zhi spat blood and was sent tumbling through the air.

Looking at the coffin, it continued its assault without giving her a chance to breathe, lightning tearing across its surface as the ancient patterns etched on it became vividly alive.

Its aura and pressure grew even more overbearing; even a Quasi-Emperor would struggle to withstand it.

At ten thousand zhang away, Tian Zhi steadied herself, forming seals with one hand to summon a multicolored immortal sea, inscribed with her Dao principles and possessing sealing and exterminating power, surging toward the coffin.

Unfortunately, the coffin ignored the immortal sea, crushing it entirely.

Tian Zhi tried again, clasping her hands together to activate her immortal eyes for enhanced combat power, deploying the Sealing Heaven Grand Array. At the same time, she unfolded her visions to protect herself and obstruct the coffin.

But the coffin was too powerful; the array couldn't seal it and was broken in an instant, her profound visions proving useless as they were shattered, sending her flying once more.

Mid-flight, Tian Zhi's hand seals changed rapidly, unleashing a series of Emperor Dao immortal techniques: blade lights, sword shadows, magical artifact manifestations, divine rivers, and immortal seas, all cast without regard for cost.

However, her secret techniques couldn't halt the coffin's advance, failing to create even a ripple.

"One coffin that breaks ten thousand laws?" Xiao Ling Wa murmured, mouth agape.

"It's too ferocious." Ye Chen whispered, his face extremely grim.

Tian Zhi wasn't weak; her bloodline had returned to ancient purity, her divine repositories fully opened, making her a genuine Emperor's child with mastery of many immortal techniques. Yet, all her abilities were rendered useless against the coffin.

As for that massive coffin, it was extraordinarily tough. No matter what she threw at it—immortal arts or arrays—it simply rammed through everything with savage force.

"In a certain sense, it's more terrifying than the Emperor Dao Law Body Tribulation," Tian Lao said.

"Utterly bizarre," Di Lao added, his face equally unpleasant. The Emperor Dao Law Body Tribulation at least had a time limit, but this coffin had none and was constantly strengthening and growing until it obliterated the one undergoing the tribulation.

"It's overwhelmingly strong." The spectators felt their hearts race with fear. If hit by that coffin, one would be utterly destroyed; it truly repelled all laws, impossible to shake.

Puff!

Amid the shocked murmurs, Tian Zhi vomited blood again. Before she could steady herself, the coffin was upon her, descending from the sky like a colossal mountain, intent on grinding the ant-like tribulation crosser to dust.

Boom!

The coffin landed, and that section of starry sky collapsed immediately, Tian Zhi's figure vanishing from sight.

In that instant, the people of Da Chu turned pale. The princess of the Seven-Colored Peacock Clan—was she obliterated, crushed to nothing by that merciless coffin, dying without achieving Quasi-Emperor?

"Such a fine girl, gone just like that?" Xiao Ling Wa said quietly.

Ye Chen didn't respond, his golden eyes blazing as he stared fixedly at the coffin, blood trickling from the corners of his eyes. He was probing it again, refusing to believe Tian Zhi was dead since the tribulation coffin remained.

"She hasn't been destroyed; she's entered the coffin," Tian Lao revealed the truth.

Indeed, as he said, the massive coffin fell silent for a moment before buzzing again.

Boom! Bang! Boom!

Then came these sounds, emanating from within the coffin, as if a fierce battle was raging inside—perhaps a group fight. One side had to be Tian Zhi, but the other was unknown, possibly the Emperor Dao Law Body or some monstrous entities.

"People inside the coffin?" The surrounding cultivators were all astonished, inching closer, raising their heads in awe as they stared at the coffin, their expressions full of wonder.

"There must be some, and likely more than one." An elder pondered, unable to see through the coffin but hearing from the sounds that it was no solo fight—it was a full-on brawl.

"This is truly novel." Many people twitched their mouths, gaining quite the eye-opener.

"Can you see through it?" Di Lao nudged Ye Chen with a finger.

"See through what?" Ye Chen cursed, suddenly squatting down, one hand covering his eyes and the other his head. Blood streamed from his eyes, and his skull buzzed; his attempt to peer into the coffin had backfired severely.

Like him, anyone with heavenly eyes or divination skills had squatted down. If Ye Chen suffered backlash, they weren't spared either, grumbling one after another.

"What a mess!" Xiao Ling Wa sighed, looking around.

The crowd was like a tide; those affected by the backlash weren't just one or two—it was a whole swath. The ones squatting were the lucky ones; many had already collapsed, falling into a stupor amid the backlash, foaming at the mouth and bleeding from all orifices, as if about to leave last words.

Those still standing watched the coffin; the battle inside must be brutal. Though far away, they could faintly smell blood through the coffin, imagining how desperately the Seven-Colored Peacock Clan's princess was fighting.

"Our clan has never had such a precedent—how could there be a coffin heavenly tribulation?"

The ancestor of the Seven-Colored Peacock Clan looked grave, his face pale, shocked and puzzled. He didn't know how to cross this tribulation or what constituted passing it.

After so many years, their clan had produced such a stunning successor. If she fell to the tribulation, it would be a cruel joke. With the princess dead, no one would uphold the family's honor.

"Hong Jun, do you have anything to say?" The Ming Emperor glanced at the ethereal void.

"In my humble opinion, that's a coffin." Dao Zu's voice echoed leisurely from the Heavenly Realm into the Underworld, resounding infinitely in the land of the dead. Only the great emperors could hear the great emperor's words.

The Ming Emperor said nothing, just took a deep breath, suppressing the urge to curse. It's a coffin—did that worthless comment need stating? All he spouted was nonsense.
