Chapter 2109: Unwarranted Use of Emperor's Weapon

Chapter 2109: Wang Dong Di Bing

Honghuang's myriad immortal rays, capable of destroying heaven and earth, once again blasted that stretch of starry sky into utter oblivion, leaving all witnesses trembling in fear. Even a peak Zhundi would be instantly reduced to ashes!

Unfortunately, Honghuang was a step too late. Though it launched a deadly strike, it failed to hit Ye Chen. In that instant, Ye Chen had already escaped into a space black hole.

"Damn it." Honghuang's furious roar shook the starry sky. How many times was this now? Once again, Ye Chen had narrowly escaped death. With fifty million troops assembled here, they had become nothing but a useless display, unable to stop even a half-dead man. What a humiliation, an utter disgrace.

"See? Our seventh brother has plenty of ways to save his skin." Xiao Yuan Huang scratched his monkey fur.

"It's all thanks to the unsealed Samsara Eye, allowing him to use the Heavenly Dao again. Otherwise, not even a hundred lives would be enough to end him."

"Say, is the Honghuang army heading straight for us?" Kui Niu coughed dryly.

No need for reminders; the cultivators of the various heavens had already spotted it. Like a vast ocean, the tide surged and rolled, engulfing one star field after another, intent on swallowing them whole.

"Kill! Kill for me!" The enraged Honghuang Zhundi sat at the rear, wielding a blood-drenched killing sword and pointing it toward the cultivators of the various heavens. Ye Chen might have escaped, but the human cultivators remained. Unable to destroy Ye Chen, they would make these people bear Honghuang's towering fury. Those twisted, grotesque faces were more terrifying than demons.

The human cultivators' expressions changed drastically, and they retreated en masse, their bodies trembling uncontrollably. This was Honghuang, with its fifty million-strong army—who could stand against it?

But at that very moment, a brilliant immortal light shot into the sky and hovered in the void. It radiated supreme emperor might, with emperor dao laws cascading down like massive mountains, suppressing eternity and making the entire starry sky rumble and shake. It shone like the sun, too dazzling to look at directly.

"Xuan Yuan Jian." The Honghuang forces charging ahead halted abruptly, certain that one more step forward would reduce them to dust under the emperor weapon.

"The calamity tide is not yet over, yet you dare to recklessly move an emperor weapon." The Honghuang Zhundi arrived, their blood-red eyes fixed on Donghuang Tai Xin. Clearly, the one who had summoned Xuan Yuan Jian was the goddess of Kunlun.

In response to Honghuang's interrogation, Donghuang Tai Xin merely shrugged casually.

"If you're the ones insisting on war, then let's go down together in mutual destruction! Whether we die early or late, it's all death anyway, so might as well drag some along for the ride."

"Good, very good. Then let war begin." Qiong Qi Zhundi howled.

"Fetch the emperor weapons from our clans, fetch them and trample the various heavens!" Tao Tie Zhundi raved like a madman, his hair disheveled, barking like a rabid dog.

"War! War!" The howls of the two Zhundi ignited Honghuang's frenzy. They raised their battle spears and waved their war banners, their roars merging into a thunderous chorus that shook the star dome.

However, not all of Honghuang's people were blinded by rage; some still had their wits about them.

During the calamity tide one hundred and seventy years ago, over eighty percent of the peak Zhundi had fallen into the tribulation, and among those, over sixty percent were from Honghuang. If emperor weapons entered the fray, it would disrupt the cosmic balance, and without exception, those peak Zhundi in the tribulation would perish.

For Honghuang, this would be a devastating blow.

In contrast, Donghuang Tai Xin appeared utterly at ease, standing gracefully in silence, not speaking a word. If war was what they wanted, then so be it! Though the various heavens' forces were no match for Honghuang, they would still inflict heavy losses.

In the end, the heavenly demons would invade, dooming the entire various heavens, including the mighty Honghuang clans, in one fell swoop.

She knew this all too well, and Honghuang must know it too.

The goddess of Kunlun had already resolved to go down fighting, dragging Honghuang with her. It wouldn't be a loss. If death was inevitable, they'd die together, keeping each other company on the road to the underworld. She left it unspoken, letting Honghuang weigh the pros and cons themselves.

"War! War!"

From the opposing side, Honghuang's roars grew even more frenzied, their voices booming louder than ever, each one shouting with unbridled enthusiasm, as if they could trample the various heavens right then.

What was amusing, though, was that despite their loud cries, not a single one advanced.

"Clan emperor, we've endured for one hundred and seventy years; what's a few more decades?" The strong experts of Honghuang's various clans whispered through secret transmissions, advising their leaders. Starting this war would be no joking matter.

The Honghuang clan emperors perked up at this. Hey, here's a way out—they had to take it.

They might have said they wanted war, but they couldn't actually fight. Among those peak Zhundi in the tribulation were many of their elders and ancestors. Starting a war would mean going home to mourn in sackcloth and filial piety, and they'd end up branded as unfilial to boot.

"Withdraw." With a cold snort, the clan emperors turned as one, forcibly suppressing their urge for battle. They'd waited one hundred and seventy years; a few more decades wouldn't hurt.

The Honghuang forces, who had been clamoring moments ago, fell silent in an instant. Like a receding tide, they retreated in all directions, summoning transmission gates and returning to their respective homes.

As Honghuang departed, the human cultivators of the various heavens finally let out a collective sigh of relief, with some collapsing to the ground, drenched in cold sweat. Just moments before, it had felt like walking through the gates of hell.

"The show is over." Donghuang Tai Xin murmured softly, recalling the emperor sword Xuan Yuan Jian and summoning her own transmission gate. Her expression wasn't great; the truce agreement was already as good as scrap paper. If not for the calamity tide, Honghuang would have started the war long ago. This time, they'd delayed it for now, but not forever. That battle was likely unavoidable, and the various heavens were sorely outmatched.

"The show is over." The emperor-level figures of the various heavens muttered, gazing quietly in the direction where their fathers had vanished. Only after a long while did they offer a weary smile and quietly depart.

"This old bull is in a good mood—drinks on me today." Kui Niu thumped his chest.

"How about treating us to some fun instead?" Xiao Yuan Huang rubbed his hands eagerly.

"Get lost."

"Let's go, let's go." Nan Di glanced at the two and turned first, with the experts from Xuan Huang following suit. Bei Sheng, as he left, couldn't help but glance back at the misty void, as if he could see through it to that soul-stirring figure.

"The show is over." The human cultivators of the various heavens also began to disperse, each with a lingering sense of unfinished business. As they left, each one cast a glance at the void, as if they too could glimpse Ye Chen. Their eyes were filled with reverence, mixed with sighs, tsks of amazement, shock, emotion, and contentment.

Today had been well worth it. They had witnessed the Thirty-Two Emperors and borne witness to an epic conquest. Da Chu's tenth emperor had once again proven with his strength that the Ancient Holy Body lineage was truly an undefeated legend.

What excited them most was that the Honghuang's fifty million troops, despite gathering in full force, not only failed to slay Ye Chen but suffered heavy losses and retreated in defeat once more. Ye Chen's existence served as another clear warning to Honghuang: the various heavens were not without capable defenders, and there were plenty who could hold the line.

As the cultivators gradually departed, the starry sky grew vast and empty, with only lingering blood mist drifting over the scarred world.

The space black hole remained as deep and silent as ever, a pitch-black void where nothing could be seen.

"What is this place?" Yang Xuan peered out from the cauldron's rim, eyeing their surroundings warily. Even inside the cauldron, he felt a chill run through him, as if a pair of glowing eyes in the darkness were watching him.

"A space black hole." Tang San Shao replied, experiencing it for the first time himself, full of curiosity. This place was truly eerie—no sounds at all, just endless blackness. If someone were abandoned here, trapped in the dark day after day, they'd wish for death.

Compared to them, Ye Ling and Qin Xiong were more focused on Ye Chen.

Ye Chen sat quietly in meditation, as still as a statue, his brow occasionally twitching with pain. He was gravely injured, his body covered in blood, with gashes still flickering with emperor might's faint glow, draining his essence and wreaking havoc inside him. Emperor dao killing intent had infiltrated his body, constantly threatening to consume him.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

The Chaos Cauldron hummed above his head, strands of chaotic qi cascading down to envelop Ye Chen and erase the emperor dao killing intent.

It too was battered, covered in cracks from the thunder tribulation. Ye Chen had undergone the tribulation, and so had it; those marks were seals of the dao.

Now, it had become a genuine great saint weapon, even more extraordinary. Its massive, ancient form exuded a simple yet profound aura, with golden shield armor characters arranging themselves automatically. Listening closely, one could hear the intertwining heavenly sounds of the great dao, along with chaotic visions manifesting within the dao rhythms.

Ji Ning Shuang was there too, still in her primordial spirit form, floating not far from Ye Chen, not daring to get too close. The emperor killing intent radiating from him was overwhelmingly dominant, even making her hesitant to approach.

"Ninth mother." Ye Ling poked out her little head, asking curiously, "If father's physical body has been destroyed like this, can he still remake his holy body?"

"He can." Ji Ning Shuang smiled gently. "His primordial spirit is intact, and so are his holy body origin and divine treasury. Just one drop of saint blood is needed to remake his golden form."

"That's a relief." Ye Ling patted her chest and let out a huge sigh.

"Stay here and don't leave the Chaos Cauldron." Ji Ning Shuang left those words and ventured deeper into the black hole. Ye Chen had encountered a terrifying entity when he entered earlier, not far from here, and she wanted to investigate. With time on her hands, why not?

After she left, Yang Xuan and Tang San Shao wisely retreated back into the great cauldron. It was safer inside; this pitch-black world felt strangely ominous.

"Dad, you have to be okay no matter what!" Ye Ling murmured to herself.

"How about we make a deal?" Tang San Shao rubbed his hands and sidled up with a grin.

Ye Ling eyed Tang San Shao sideways; every time she saw that smile from the little fatty, she felt an itch to smack him.

"How about we switch bodies, you and me?" Tang San Shao chuckled.

Ye Ling said nothing, just stared at Tang San Shao, making the little fatty's heart skip beats.

" Pretend I never said that." Tang San Shao coughed awkwardly and slinked away, knowing he'd get a beating otherwise. Mainly, he was curious about what it felt like to be in a female body, after seeing Ye Chen take over the immortal body. It should be quite wonderful, with such soft and tender sensations.

Ye Ling finally withdrew her gaze and peered out from the cauldron at Ye Chen again.

Ye Chen's condition had improved somewhat; at least his face looked rosier now, and the wounds and gashes across his body were slowly healing. The lingering emperor dao killing intent inside him was being erased bit by bit.
