Chapter 2101: Scaring Me Again

In the vast starry sky, lightning flashed and thunder roared, shrouding everything in darkness. Across the eight desolate regions, the primordial energy surged and churned like a vast ocean, swallowing up vast expanses of stars. Upon closer inspection, one could see enormous beasts of the Honghuang, each as towering as mountains, with blood-red eyes as large as wine jars, radiating overwhelming killing intent as they charged toward the star domain where Ye Chen was located.

"Such a massive force—does the Honghuang clan plan to start a war?" All the cultivators from the various heavens who witnessed this turned pale, even the great saints trembling in their souls under the immense pressure.

"I just heard the news: the Holy Body Ye Chen has appeared, and he's chasing a Taotie Zhun Di."

"I knew it! After lying low for one hundred and seventy years, the Holy Body was due to resurface. If it's him, then it all makes sense. Only the Desolate Ancient Holy Body could warrant such a lineup from the Honghuang."

No one disputed these words. When it came to Ye Chen and the Honghuang clan, they were sworn enemies.

Recalling their feud, from the time the Honghuang clashed with Ye Chen, they had suffered defeat after defeat in their attempts to surround and kill him. Each assault was more formidable than the last, yet each ended more disastrously. Not to mention other incidents, just take the Tian Zun ruins—where the Honghuang's crown princes and imperial heirs were nearly wiped out, and their emperor-level offspring suffered heavy casualties. For the Honghuang, this wasn't just a depletion of vitality; it was a blow to their very foundations, nearly severing an entire generation.

"What's even more shocking is that accompanying the Holy Body Ye Chen is the Yao Chi Immortal Body."

"The Yao Chi of the East God?"

"It's undoubtedly her."

"This is impossible—she clearly died." Doubts erupted everywhere. Back at the Tian Zun ruins, too many people had been present, witnessing Yao Chi's burial with their own eyes, so how could they believe otherwise?

"The truth will be clear at a glance."

"Don't miss out if you're passing by—hurry up and join for the grand spectacle!" The shouts were loudest from the Xuan Huang direction, coming from an old man with Zhun Di-level cultivation. Beside him stood a massive gate reaching the heavens, radiating immortal light and overflowing with emperor-level divine power.

No need to explain—it was an emperor-level teleportation gate.

The old man was quite accommodating, or perhaps he couldn't bear the energy cost alone. Though emperor-level teleportation gates were fast, the source stones they consumed were beyond what most forces could afford, let alone one person. Cleverly, he invited others to share the burden.

Many came flocking. The reappearance of the Holy Body, the revival of the East God, and the Honghuang's siege—this was an epic drama not to be missed. Money could be earned again, but a missed opportunity was gone forever.

"One hundred and seventy years, and you've finally shown up, you rascal." The Little Ape Emperor arrived like a streak of golden light, darting into the teleportation gate, closely followed by the massive Kui Niu figure.

"Always making such a big fuss." Nan Di, Xi Zun, and Zhong Huang arrived together, shaking their heads with a smile.

"I thought you were dead by now?" Bei Sheng glided in gracefully, stepping into the gate with a resentful yet affectionate expression. After over a hundred years apart, this devoted woman had been haunted by thoughts of him day and night!

Chen Yi emerged from seclusion and soared through the sky, with a young girl, Di Jiu Xian, following behind.

Long Jie, the Spirit Clan goddess, the Witch Clan godson, the Ancient Clan goddess, and others in their group all arrived.

Crowds surged like ocean waves, with elders and juniors alike, all eager to witness the spectacle regardless of cost.

The gate soon closed, locking onto the spatial coordinates.

Latecomers missed it, but that was fine—there were more emperor-level teleportation gates. More gates opened, drawing even larger crowds in a magnificent display.

Figures emerged from various star domains.

How could such an event lack the various heavens' emperor-level heirs? Xuan Gu Emperor Son Tian Shuo, Yan Emperor's son Xiao Lu, Xuan Yuan Emperor Son Wu Qing, Tian Que Emperor Son Li Feng Qiu, Zhu Tian Emperor Son Mu Yang, Qing Emperor's son Feng Yu, Yu Kong Emperor Son Jiu Liu, Wu Ji Emperor Son Zi Yu—all awakened from their self-seals and converged from different parts of the starry sky. After one hundred and seventy years, they reunited, and this time, they were joined by the You Ming Emperor Son Yang Feng. Each activated their own teleportation gates.

In Da Chu, an emperor-level teleportation gate also opened.

Dong Huang Tai Xin, Yue Huang, and the Fifth Divine General Tian Jiu entered one after another—it was just these three. Da Chu's peak Zhun Di who had survived the calamity went to hold the line.

As for Da Chu's talents, they wanted to follow and see the excitement, but Dong Huang Tai Xin sent them back. Especially the Heng Yue people, and particularly those from Jade Maiden Peak, who were placed under house arrest. The blame lay with the Honghuang's overwhelming force this time—if too many went, they'd just be a burden.

Boom!

The starry sky still trembled. Glancing into the void, figures wove like streams, intersecting and crisscrossing, all heading toward that star domain. There were many from the Honghuang and many human cultivators, forming a tidal wave.

"Save me, save me." The Taotie's cries for help echoed with wails of agony.

Indeed, this creature was still alive. As a Zhun Di-level primordial spirit, it was incredibly resilient. Even after Ye Chen struck it with three consecutive swords, it hadn't been destroyed and had fled into the starry sky, its spirit body weakened to the extreme.

"Where do you think you're going?" Ye Chen shouted, stepping forward in an instant and slashing with another sword.

The Taotie was knocked down, its spirit nearly collapsing.

Yet, it still didn't collapse.

Ye Chen was so frustrated he almost laughed. You bastard, you're not just tough—you're like an unkillable cockroach!

"Save me, save me." The Taotie roared hoarsely, stumbling along.

Ji Ningshuang ascended to the ninth heaven, her crystalline jade hand descending from above.

The fleeing Taotie was forced to stagger under the palm strike. Before it could steady itself, Ye Chen's Wind God Art arrived. This sword was devastating, piercing straight through its skull.

At last, even the resilient Taotie had no way to turn the tide and was obliterated on the spot.

"Father-in-law, you're so badass!" Tang San Shao bellowed excitedly, his voice booming.

"You dead fatty, looking for a beating?" Ye Ling stepped forward and kicked him.

"Look at you, scaring me again."

"Grandma here still wants to beat you up!"

The two troublemakers bantered and amused everyone, but Ye Chen and Ji Ningshuang frowned, their eyes narrowing as they scanned their surroundings. Though no Honghuang figures were visible in the starry sky, they could sense the Honghuang aura—vast and powerful, far beyond what one or two could muster. The force must number at least several million.

"Let's go." Without hesitation, Ye Chen waved his hand and summoned a teleportation gate.

"You won't escape." An angry roar erupted from the void, like thunderclaps.

Before the words faded, the eastern space exploded, and a Qiong Qi pounced out, pointing from afar and shattering the teleportation gate. Behind it, Honghuang energy rolled, carrying ancient war chariots and flying the Honghuang banners. On each chariot stood a towering figure, heads adorned with magical artifacts, hands gripping war spears, their eyes blood-red and savage.

This wasn't a single race—there were at least a hundred, with figures as numerous as the ocean.

"Holy crap!" Yang Xuan clung to the cauldron's rim.

"I've never seen so many people in my life." Shangguan Jiu swallowed hard, straining to see into the distance. Not exaggerating, that dark mass of Honghuang troops stretched endlessly.

"This would take forever to eat!" Tang San Shao licked his lips.

As these three clowns chattered, Ye Chen and Ji Ningshuang had already fled like divine rays.

"We will kill you." The black tide of Honghuang forces pursued from behind, covering the sky and making the starry sky rumble, their surging energy forming another ocean that engulfed inch after inch of space.

"Always with that opening line." Ye Chen muttered, picking up speed as he ran.

"Father-in-law, you run your way—I'll handle the trash-talking!" Tang San Shao hung from the cauldron's rim, took a deep breath, and then bellowed, "Idiots! A bunch of idiots!"

Ye Chen glanced sideways at Tang San Shao, his expression meaningful.

"Idiots! A bunch of idiots!" Tang San Shao grew more excited with each shout, impossible to hold back. Though he was a short, chubby guy, his voice was thunderous.

Ye Ling, the girl, was tempted to join in but thought better of it. After all, her sister-in-law was still here, so as the elder sister, she had to maintain a ladylike image.

"Idiots! A bunch of idiots!" She might not shout, but others did. Like Yang Xuan and Shangguan Jiu, those two were quite the characters, spitting as they yelled. Having spent so much time with Ye Chen, they'd picked up his shameless habits—they were prime examples.

Compared to them, Ling Feng and Qin Xiong were more restrained, offering silent support.

"The mighty Holy Body, only knowing how to run?" The Honghuang forces shouted back just as loudly.

This line made Ye Chen chuckle. With over ten million chasing him, what else could he do but run?

Still, their escape speed was impressive. Despite the Honghuang army's grand scale, they couldn't catch up, not even the leading Qiong Qi Zhun Di, who was left in the dust.

Once they'd gained enough distance, Ye Chen waved his hand to summon another gate.

But as soon as they entered, a sudden sword light manifested and shattered it.

Emerging on the other side, they saw space explode again. Before they could see anyone, the rolling Honghuang energy appeared, with massive Honghuang beasts charging out, as imposing as mountains, sweeping with violent light.

"We will kill you." The foremost Jin Ni Zhun Di roared, charging in its true form, spewing flames and shooting thunder from its eyes—one attack aimed at the body, the other at the spirit.

"Charge through!" Ye Chen snorted coldly, activating his Hegemonic Body and gripping his Dao sword, slashing down the Jin Ni. Ji Ningshuang's attack followed immediately, her spirit sword nearly finishing it off in an instant.

"Kill! Kill for me!"

"Whoever slays Ye Chen shall be made a king on the spot!"

"No mercy!"

The leaders of each race issued orders from their ranks, pointing their swords remotely at Ye Chen and Ji Ningshuang.

With the command, tens of thousands of assault formations activated, blasting toward them from all directions.

Ye Chen wasn't about to stand there and take it, and neither was the peerless Ji Ningshuang.

Both used Heaven-Swapping Earth-Moving to switch positions, each targeting an enemy.

Splat! Splat! Splat!

Blood sprayed as swaths of Honghuang warriors were wiped out, ironically by their own formations.

"Seal the space!" The Tian Xie Clan Zhun Di bellowed.

No order was needed—those from each race skilled in sealing had already risen to the ninth heaven, forming seals with their hands and using great divine abilities to lock down the starry sky, blocking Ye Chen and Ji Ningshuang's Heaven-Swapping Earth-Moving.

Unfortunately, Ye Chen was no longer the Holy Body of old.

And Ji Ningshuang was no longer the Yao Chi of before.

Though the space was sealed, their movements were still elusive. Ji Ningshuang used Dream Return to Antiquity to evade, mysteriously agile, with no formation in the world able to trap her.

As for Ye Chen, though he didn't know Dream Return to Antiquity, he had his own tricks, cleverly employing the Dust Space to vanish and reappear in an instant, flickering in and out, his true form impossible to grasp.
