Chapter 1922: Who's the Grandson?

The arrival of the Zhu Tian emperor's sons in full force significantly eased the pressure on Ye Chen. Even so, the Zhu Tian side was still at a clear disadvantage. Looking around, not a single one of them was facing an equal opponent; most were fighting one against two, or even one against three.

The biggest issue was that nearly thirty Hong Huang emperor's sons were all ganging up on Ji Ning Shuang, trapping her firmly in the eastern Cang Qiong. They wouldn't let her get too close to Ye Chen, knowing that if she did, that guy would act up again, using his shifting heavens and swapping earth techniques to pit the Hong Huang emperor's sons one by one until they dropped.

There was no way around it—who could blame them for being a married couple? Ji Ning Shuang only attacked Ye Chen, but the real problem was if her attacks got redirected. In the Xue Ji Xian Jie state, who the hell could withstand that?

Boom! Rumbling!

The area where Ji Ning Shuang was fighting showed the most intense fluctuations, with the vast sky shattering and the earth collapsing. The dim heavens were filled with raging lightning, and terrifying visions intertwined to form apocalyptic light. The nearly thirty Hong Huang emperor's sons moved like immortal kings, rampaging through the desolate skies.

Ji Ning Shuang was on the defensive, or more accurately, being overwhelmed. Her delicate body was covered in gruesome blood gashes.

The Xue Ji Xian Jie was incredibly dominant, but it couldn't hold up against sheer numbers. Her opponents were all emperor's sons, and Hong Huang ones at that, each unleashing their own imperial Dao immortal arts in relentless waves—it was no joke.

Yet, it was precisely because of the Xue Ji Xian Jie that she had the capital to fight on.

Facing thirty opponents single-handedly was something even Ye Chen hadn't pulled off so boldly. In terms of this feat alone, she had a complete victory.

Her battle was raging fiercely, and the fights on all sides were just as earth-shattering.

The ground, the skies, and the void were packed with battling figures. A massive brawl involving over seventy emperor's sons—what a spectacle that was. Their blood rained down like a storm, upending the universe and overturning yin and yang, like an immortal-demon war that wouldn't stop until the heavens collapsed.

"Today, none of you are getting away."

The Hong Huang emperor's sons roared, their voices shaking the eternal skies. Their faces were twisted and terrifying, etched with menace, and their bloodshot eyes were filled with savagery. They were determined to wipe out all the Zhu Tian emperor's sons in this realm.

"Who walks is the grandson."

The Zhu Tian emperor's sons cursed back loudly. Though outnumbered, their momentum didn't waver. They weren't madmen, but they fought like ones—not just battling, but risking their lives.

None of them thought about retreating. If they could drag the Hong Huang emperor's sons down until the relic gates closed, pulling them into the grave together, it would be worth it. In the end, they'd still come out ahead.

Must slay you all!

Among the many battle circles, the three Hong Huang emperor's sons attacking Ye Chen were the ones shouting the loudest.

Those three Hong Huang emperor's sons were quite the sight— at first glance, they looked identical, and upon closer inspection, they truly were. No need to ask; they were obviously triplet brothers.

One family with three emperor's sons—this was unique in Hong Huang. Their vital energy, origins, and Dao essence were all perfectly matched, and their coordinated attacks were flawless, each strike capable of destroying heavens and earth.

Ye Chen was in top form, taking on three at once with sheer dominance, like an eight desolations war god. His sacred body pulsed with origin essence, and wisps of refined energy burned like fire, unleashing his divine treasury's potential.

He was multitasking, fighting the three emperor's sons while keeping an eye on Ji Ning Shuang's side. He couldn't shake the worry—nearly thirty Hong Huang emperor's sons over there could actually take her down. The Xue Ji Xian Jie made her nearly indestructible, but it wasn't truly invincible.

"Can't drag this out any longer."

Ye Chen muttered to himself, clashing head-on with the three emperor's sons before turning to flee.

"Who walks is the grandson."

In another part of the sky, Ming Jue bellowed. His shout nearly tripped Ye Chen mid-escape, almost sending him tumbling from the void. Damn it, was that aimed at me? I'm rushing to save my wife, and you're stabbing me in the back like that.

He cursed, but Ye Chen kept running anyway. Ji Ning Shuang was facing thirty alone—if she fell, he'd be screwed. He had to go, had to lure her back. No more delays.

"Where do you think you're going?"

The eldest of the triplet emperor's sons snorted coldly, cutting off his path with a palm strike from the heavens.

"Get lost."

Ye Chen's roar was resolute as he punched through the void, sending the emperor's son flying backward.

"Stay right there."

The second brother attacked from behind, his sword piercing the sky.

"You get lost too."

Ye Chen flipped his hand for a palm strike, clashing bare-handed with the immortal sword and forcing him back. Then, he fused thousands of secret arts into a single fist, pummeling the charging third brother until he spat blood. Only then did Ye Chen soar into the sky and flee.

"Chase him down."

The three emperor's sons were furious, pursuing him together.

Ye Chen didn't even glance back; he just focused on escaping. It wasn't fear—it was to draw Ji Ning Shuang out.

Sure enough, as soon as he ran, Ji Ning Shuang chased after him.

The nearly thirty emperor's sons weren't having it and tried desperately to block her.

But Ji Ning Shuang was ferocious, taking down one with each sword strike, each one more dominant than the last. She slashed through the blockers, sending them flying everywhere, and the thirty emperor's sons couldn't stop her. She carved out a bloody path.

"Damn it."

The Hong Huang emperor's sons roared in anger, their faces twisted like demons. Thirty of them couldn't hold back one person? If word got out, they'd lose face—and so would their fathers.

But as facts proved, yelling did nothing. Ji Ning Shuang kept charging forward, her form utterly battered with blood gashes and her body in ruins. Still, those wounds meant nothing in her Xue Ji Xian Jie state—she was nearly indestructible, reviving to full health in an instant.

Impressive!

The Zhu Tian emperor's sons still fighting couldn't help but grin. Breaking out of a encirclement by thirty Hong Huang emperor's sons? All they could do was bow in admiration. Monsters were everywhere this year, especially now.

Kill!

The battle cries drowned out the rumbling.

At the front, Ye Chen was fleeing, with the three triplet emperor's sons in pursuit. Behind them came Ji Ning Shuang.

Bringing up the rear were the nearly thirty emperor's sons, charging in a massive wave.

They might have left, but the fights here raged on, with two-against-one battles burning as fiercely as ever.

As the fighting continued, the heavens and earth began to tremble. The already dim world saw its remaining light slowly devoured by darkness, and the vast mountains and rivers were transforming into spatial black holes.

The time limit had truly arrived—they had to get out now, or they never would.

"Who walks is the grandson."

The Zhu Tian emperor's sons were all cursing, acting like they didn't notice, and attacking with reckless abandon. Each one fought like a madman, with no intention of leaving, throwing everything on the line.

They weren't backing down, but the Hong Huang emperor's sons were getting scared.

They all knew that if they didn't leave soon, they'd be trapped. One by one, they pulled back and bolted for the exit. No point in fighting over pride now—they could battle outside just fine, and it wasn't worth dying here for nothing.

Hey!

This fired up the Zhu Tian emperor's sons. They took to the skies in pursuit.

Outside, the starry expanse was crowded with figures, packed on all sides like a surging tide. There were people from Hong Huang and Zhu Tian, both elders and juniors, all watching the relic's exit.

In the Chaos Sea, the massive gates of the Tian Zun relic were slowly closing. No one had emerged yet, but deafening rumbles echoed out, along with surging blood mist rolling from the doors.

"I heard that the Hong Huang clan's princes and heirs were nearly wiped out in the relic."

In the eastern crowd, an old Quasi-Emperor stroked his beard and sighed. "What a shame I didn't get to see it."

"Not just the princes and heirs—over ten emperor's sons were slain too."

Chi Yang Zi chuckled.

"And then there were the three hundred thousand Hong Huang troops, wiped out by over two hundred thousand in a single heavenly tribulation from Dong Shen Yao Chi!"

An elderly figure spoke with a trembling voice, full of shock.

"Speaking of Ji Ning Shuang's heavenly tribulation, it was truly overbearing, drawing in sixteen emperors. Her talent isn't far off from the Sheng Ti. What kind of people are in Ye Chen's family? A whole nest of monsters."

"No matter what, the Hong Huang clan has suffered massive losses this time."

The Zhu Tian cultivators chatted back and forth.

As they spoke, they glanced toward the Hong Huang side.

Over there, every face was covered in frost, their eyes bloodshot and teeth gritted, twisted like demons. Their rolling killing intent and murderous aura were barely contained.

It was a disaster, no doubt about it. Nearly all their princes and heirs were gone, over ten emperor's sons slain, and two hundred thousand troops lost. Even in war, they wouldn't have suffered so much. Out of all the times they'd entered the Tian Zun relic, this was the bloodiest.

Ironically, this time Hong Huang had sent an unprecedentedly powerful force, even mobilizing armies, completely overwhelming Zhu Tian in both emperor's sons and strong experts.

But the outcome was the opposite. Not only did they fail to clear out the Zhu Tian cultivators inside, they got hit with a massive counterattack, losing countless experts. It was a humiliation, an absolute disgrace.

"The Zhu Tian emperor's sons did a great job."

In the northern crowd, shouts echoed through the stars. An old clumsy ox and a golden-haired monkey were yelling at the top of their lungs, their roars bold and unrestrained.

Those two were, of course, Kui Niu and Xiao Yuan Huang.

They'd gotten out early but hadn't left, staying guard at the exit. The later battles were all described to them by the elders who followed. Every incident, every event, got them fired up. They never imagined Ye Chen and his group could be so formidable—wiping out princes, then heirs, then emperor's sons, and even pitting three hundred thousand Hong Huang troops to lose over two hundred thousand.

Just hearing about it was exhilarating, thrilling enough to make them howl like wolves.

"The Zhu Tian emperor's sons did a great job."

Their shouts instantly stirred up massive waves, with the Zhu Tian younger generation gathering together like they'd been injected with adrenaline, raising their voices.

"The Zhu Tian emperor's sons did a great job."

Not just the youngsters—a bunch of mischievous old-timers joined in, acting like fresh-faced youths, shouting even louder. Mainly because the Zhu Tian emperor's sons had brought them so much honor; not yelling a couple of times would be letting down their ancestors.

Their outburst only made the already furious Hong Huang clan explode. Killing intent surged wildly, devouring patches of the stars, their eyes blood-red and filled with rage, as if they were about to charge and start a war, using blood to quench their towering fury.

"The juniors' battles are for the juniors; the elders should stand aside."

Before the war could erupt, a ethereal voice came from the Xuan Huang Continent, majestic and icy cold, echoing across the stars from an unknown distance.

No need to say—it was from the Five Great Forbidden Zones, keeping a close eye on Hong Huang. If Hong Huang ignored the truce and ignited the flames of war again, they wouldn't mind a massacre to maintain Zhu Tian's order.
