Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!
In the ruins, blood sprayed continuously, and people died every moment. Ever since leaving the valley, Ye Chen had been carving a bloody path, his thunderous methods unleashed without reservation against any Honghuang clan members. Of course, neutral Honghuang individuals were not included in his killing spree.
This massacre was truly bloody. The Honghuang clan members who had perished under his hand were at least eight hundred, possibly even a thousand, including Honghuang princes, heirs, as well as Honghuang quasi-emperors and great saints. He was indeed a veritable death god.
"Is it even deeper inside?" After finishing off a prince of the Tengshe clan, Ye Chen stood atop a mountain peak, looking into the distance.
He had thought he was already deep enough, but along the way, he hadn't encountered a single Zhutian emperor's child. As for Nan Di, Bei Sheng, and the others, he hadn't seen them either. What he had encountered most were fleeing Zhutian cultivators and Honghuang clan members rampaging in slaughter. The entire Tianzun ruins were in utter chaos.
Boom! Bang! Rumble!
As he was observing, a sudden rumble erupted from a nearby direction, drawing Ye Chen's attention.
It was a vast mountain range, where he could see peaks collapsing one after another, presenting a grand and spectacular sight. The apocalyptic visions were clearly visible even from afar.
Without a moment's hesitation, Ye Chen stepped into the void and charged towards the commotion. He knew that a battle was taking place there, and one side definitely involved the Honghuang clan.
However, before he could enter, two figures were sent flying out from the mountains.
These two figures were clad in a black robe and a white robe respectively – both were Honghuang clan members and quasi-emperors suppressed to the Saint King level. Their vital energy was surging, but their forms were extremely disheveled.
Clearly, these two Honghuang quasi-emperors were being hunted down.
Ye Chen raised an eyebrow and looked towards the figures behind them. Whoever could battle two quasi-emperors must be at least at the level of an emperor's child.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The void hummed with vibration. Although the person was not yet visible, the rhythmic banging sounds were heard first.
Listening closely, it was the sound of footsteps, perhaps because the person's body was too heavy, causing the sky to rumble with each step.
As Ye Chen watched, a youth in purple-gold battle armor emerged from the mountains. His eyes were like stars, his black hair cascaded like a waterfall, and his vital energy surged like an ocean. His killing intent was fierce and raging, and divine light radiated from his entire body, dazzlingly bright. Strands of Dao principles circled around him, faintly visible and profoundly mysterious.
His visions were a blazing sun and a bright moon, suspended in the vast expanse, shooting out billions of divine rays.
"Da Yue Shen Ti." Ye Chen stroked his chin. He didn't recognize the youth, but he recognized the bloodline. This bloodline shared origins with the Tai Yang Zhen Ti and Tai Yin Zhen Ti. It carried half the divine essence of each, using the sun for yang to forge the Qian path, and the moon for yin to create the Kun path.
Legends of the Da Yue Shen Ti were ancient, and this lineage was hailed as half a Chaos Body by the world.
Ye Chen was surprised that this ancient bloodline still existed in the world. It was no surprise that it could rout two Honghuang quasi-emperors.
"Zhiyan, we have never crossed paths, must you really fight our two clans to the death?" the white-robed quasi-emperor roared angrily, his hair disheveled and his face twisted in grotesque fury, blood streaming from his entire body.
"From your words, I almost thought you were innocent." The youth named Zhiyan chuckled mockingly. "Since the Honghuang seal was broken, how many lives have you slaughtered? You probably can't even keep count yourself. Did you ever think that among those you mercilessly killed, there might be people from my Da Yue clan?"
"It's all a misunderstanding, our clan will make amends," the black-robed quasi-emperor said coldly.
"Make amends, my foot." Zhiyan snorted coldly, a decisive killer himself. He stepped across the sky like an immortal king reigning supreme. The sun and moon above his head both burst with light. Their radiance merged in an instant, illuminating the world. Anything touched by that light, be it flowers, grass, or trees, withered away immediately.
The two black-robed quasi-emperors, under the glow of the Da Yue light, saw their combat power plummet sharply. Their surging vital energy, the surrounding Dao principles, and their roiling origins were all on the verge of being extinguished by the light.
"Emperor's Path Immortal Law: Da Yue Chong Guang." Ye Chen murmured softly. He had heard of this secret technique, exclusive to the Da Yue Shen Ti, and a world-ending Dao law. Under the Da Yue light, all things decayed.
"Retreat! Retreat now!" the black-robed quasi-emperor shrieked, his face deathly pale, clearly aware of the technique's terror. Together with the white-robed quasi-emperor, he fled desperately, trying to escape the light's range as quickly as possible.
"You've come this far, don't think about leaving." Zhiyan stood high in the heavens, his voice majestic and icy. The sun and moon above his head merged into one chaotic entity, triggering visions of heaven and earth shattering. The sun and moon both exploded, their destructive force aimed straight at the two quasi-emperors.
"No!" The black-robed quasi-emperors howled, unable to escape. The devastating power targeted their primordial spirits, and in an instant, their true forms were obliterated—a true kill.
"Da Yue Annihilation, another Emperor's Path Immortal Law." Ye Chen sighed in admiration. First there was Dongzhou Wuwang Song Yu, and now Zhiyan of the Da Yue Shen Ti. The Zhutian realm truly hid dragons and crouching tigers, teeming with talents.
He felt fortunate that prodigies like Zhiyan and Song Yu were enemies of the Honghuang clan. If they were against the Zhutian, the emperor's children in the ruins would be in serious trouble.
On the other side, Zhiyan had already collected the treasures from the two quasi-emperors and fixed his brilliant eyes on Ye Chen. "Sacred Body?"
"The real deal." Ye Chen grinned easily, acting quite familiar as he slung an arm over Zhiyan's shoulder and winked. "Fancy joining me for a big score?"
"How big?" Zhiyan asked with a smile.
"Head deeper and take out all the Honghuang emperor's children—package them all." Ye Chen laughed, secretly planning that he couldn't go alone; he needed allies, tough ones who could stand against Honghuang emperor's children.
Clearly, the Da Yue Shen Ti before him had that strength. Pull in as many as possible—like Dongzhou Wuwang, who had escaped too quickly, or he would have dragged him along too.
"Package them all?" Zhiyan was amused. "I say, brother, do you even know how many Honghuang emperor's children are here? One of them with an Emperor's Path Immortal Law would send us straight to the underworld. And you want to package them all?"
"You're the silly one! We won't fight them head-on—just pick them off one by one." Ye Chen smoothed his hair and said meaningfully, "In military strategy, that's called defeating them in detail. Yeah, that's the plan."
"If we can gang up, we absolutely won't fight solo!" Zhiyan pulled out a wine flask.
"Good lad, you're learning."
"Hey? Why isn't that woman wearing any clothes?"
"Isn't wearing clothes? Where?" Ye Chen turned his head immediately, but in that direction, there wasn't a woman without clothes—or even a bird in sight.
Realizing he'd been tricked, Ye Chen turned back, but Zhiyan had already vanished.
"Was that really necessary?" Ye Chen's mouth twitched. He was usually the one pulling tricks like that, but now the Da Yue Shen Ti had used it so smoothly on him—and he'd fallen for it.
"And they call it Da Yue Shen Ti? Must've gotten in through the back door!" Ye Chen rubbed his brow. "If you're not going, fine, but why run? At least you're half a Chaos Body—your escape style is more over-the-top than cheating."
After glancing in the direction Zhiyan had left, Ye Chen shook his head and flew deeper. A tough battle awaited him inside; at worst, he might end up like the Zhutian emperor's child, ganged up on and killed.
A moment later, he crossed the mountains and soared over a long river.
Beyond that river, the scent of blood, killing intent, and malice grew even thicker. Fresh blood flowed, forming small streams that merged into the river, dyeing its waters red—a shocking sight.
This river seemed like a dividing line, separating the inner and outer ruins. Deeper in, the spiritual energy was richer and the Dao essence more profound; outward, the spiritual energy was sparse, and the sounds of the great Dao were hard to hear.
"Run!" As Ye Chen scanned around, shouts echoed from ahead.
Looking over, he saw groups of disheveled figures—all human cultivators, some in groups of three or five, others in larger clusters—rushing along, all injured. The leading quasi-emperor was fleeing the fastest.
It looked less like being chased and more like a mass exodus.
Ye Chen reached out and stopped the crowd, asking, "Have you seen the Zhutian emperor's children or Nan Di and Bei Sheng?"
"We haven't seen the emperor's children, but Nan Di, Bei Sheng, and the others are trapped in a dark abyss," an old man replied, pointing in a direction. "Right now, they're being surrounded and killed by the Honghuang princes."
"Kid, don't go deeper. The Honghuang great clans have gone mad," another elder warned, a great saint suppressed to the saint king level. "They've been clearing out everyone since they entered. I saw it with my own eyes—a quasi-emperor nailed to a cliff."
Ye Chen said nothing and vanished into the distance, heading toward the direction the old man had pointed, his piercing killing intent as cold as ice. Everywhere he passed, the heavens froze inch by inch.
"Youthful boldness, just like I was back in the day," the older cultivators sighed.
"Don't ignore the elders' advice; you'll regret it." Another elder spoke and hurriedly crossed the blood river.
The Zhutian cultivators followed suit. Who cared about opportunities now? Survival came first.
