Chapter 1872: The Yaochi Gathering Ends

Chapter 1872: Yaochi Grand Assembly Concludes

As Taotie was destroyed, the grand assembly fell silent, leaving only the rumbling in the virtual sky. Ye Chen's crimson Di Bing bloomed with Di Wei, its overflowing Emperor's aura heavy as mountains with every strand.

"Any more?" Ye Chen glanced toward the Honghuang Clan side, his killing intent surging and murderous aura overwhelming, like a demon god. His pair of brilliant golden eyes gleamed with icy cold light.

The Honghuang princes' expressions turned ice-cold, their fists clenched tightly in their sleeves, realizing they had been tricked by Ye Chen.

The Honghuang Zhun Di also snorted coldly, as if they had spotted clues from Ye Chen's vital energy. Although he had suffered backlash, it barely affected his peak combat strength. His show of weakness was all an act for their benefit.

Unfortunately, they realized it too late. Ye Chen's acting was too masterful, deceiving them completely.

This deception came at a cost—several princes lost their lives.

They all thought they could easily eliminate Ye Chen, but instead, they were counter-killed one by one. What a stark irony.

"Let's go." Tian Xie Zhun Di shouted coldly and rose first.

"Let's go." The Honghuang Zhun Di and Honghuang princes also stood, opening a domain gate and surging into it.

They had underestimated Ye Chen. The Sheng Ti's foundation was too profound. Even imperial princes couldn't handle him, and the princes were no match either. If they continued fighting like this, no matter how many went up, they would all be wiped out.

A being like Ye Chen could only be suppressed by Di Zi, and even then, the Di Zi might not be his opponents.

"The various heavens, wait for us." As the massive domain gate closed, an icy voice echoed back, resounding through the nine skies.

"Don't try to scare us." Kui Niu and Xiao Yuan Huang jumped three zhang high, with the younger generation of the various heavens responding in kind.

"Another retreat in defeat, and the Sheng Ti did it splendidly." The older generation of the various heavens all laughed. The one who truly held the line was still Ye Chen, the invincible war god of his level.

"Come on, let's drink." Ye Chen put away his ultimate Di Bing, pouring a basin of water over himself from head to toe to wash away the grime. Having slain four Honghuang princes in a row, this battle was well worth it.

"This act was spot-on." As soon as he returned to his seat, Kui Niu and Xiao Yuan Huang each gave him a punch. They couldn't even withstand a single strike from a Honghuang prince, but Ye Chen was formidable—stepping onto the battle platform and wiping out four in one go.

"Keep it low-key." Ye Chen said, picking up Xiao Ye Fan. The little guy was quite sensible, holding Ji Ning Shuang's handkerchief and wiping sweat from Ye Chen's face, very filial.

"My great nephew said your bedroom skills aren't up to par—you go down after just once." Kui Niu slapped Ye Chen on the shoulder.

"What a pity for our Yaochi girl—she's so beautiful, yet not fully satisfied." Xiao Yuan Huang sighed.

"If you don't mind, let me handle it tonight."

"If you don't mind, we'll both go."

Kui Niu and Xiao Yuan Huang, those two shameless ones, were in full swing, trading barbs without stopping.

As they spoke, the two of them were sent flying into the sky.

Not kidding, this time they flew even higher and farther than before, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, out of Yaochi Xian Shan.

The one who struck was Ji Ning Shuang, tossing them out of the immortal mountain. She acted as if nothing had happened, calmly sipping her wine. That's how you deal with their type—straightforwardly.

"I've already drawn my knife." Ye Chen clicked his tongue, knife in hand, ready to chop up those two shameless ones and stew them. But Ji Ning Shuang had moved too quickly.

The younger generation all coughed awkwardly. That was the consequence of teasing someone's wife—those two big shots had no shame.

The older generation also coughed. Ye Chen had so many wives, and none of them were easy to handle. Each one was fierce, and messing with them came with serious consequences.

"Don't worry about the details." After a moment of silence, Chi Yang Zi rolled up his sleeves. "Come on, let's drink."

After that little interlude, the assembly became lively again.

Plates of pantao were served, along with jugs of divine nectar and jade dew, their fragrance rich and thick. Immortal maidens danced, and flowers fluttered everywhere in a splendid display. No one came to disturb the event anymore.

The older generation gathered to discuss cultivation insights, while groups of younger disciples hovered around them, eager and diligent, noting down the elders' wisdom.

As for the more unruly younger ones, they were busy flirting. With so many Yaochi immortal maidens around, how could they resist?

Glancing around, each wine table had a man and a woman paired up, a delightful sight. The Yaochi immortal maidens were all laughing and leaning forward in amusement.

The Yaochi elders' faces darkened, their expressions stern as they moved from table to table, their eyes seeming to say: "You little rascals, stay away from our immortal maidens."

In response, the younger generation of the various heavens and the Yaochi immortal maidens played along obediently. But as soon as the elders passed, they dove back into the fun. Could the elders watch them forever?

"Will the Xian Mu cry if they're all whisked away?" Ye Chen stroked his chin, muttering meaningfully.

In the blink of an eye, three days passed, and the Yaochi Grand Assembly came to an end.

The old folks left one after another, taking their younger disciples with them.

You could see some of the younger ones winking at the Yaochi immortal maidens before departing, mouthing "see you soon."

That "see you soon" carried all sorts of implications—maybe eloping, secret meetings, or heading off to a room for things men and women both crave.

As the son-in-law of Yaochi, Ye Chen was pulled along to see off the guests. The younger generation looked at him with awe, while the elders gazed with satisfaction. He was a prodigy destined to lead a new era.

"In a few days, we'll head to Da Chu—have the wine and food ready." The Di Dao inheritance figures patted Ye Chen on the shoulder as they left, though only Xuan Yuan Di Zi remained silent as ever.

"The people of Da Chu are quite fierce—don't bring valuables when you go." Ye Chen offered a warm reminder in his imperial role.

The Di Dao inheritance figures didn't take it to heart, leaving with great swagger.

Only Chen Yi turned back at the last moment, gazing nostalgically at Yaochi Xian Shan. Looking at this fairyland was like looking at his sister. Oh, the passage of time!

He left, and behind him, a young girl followed stealthily—it was none other than Di Jiu Xian.

Jiang Tai Xu departed without a word, only giving Ye Chen a gentle smile. All the karma was unspoken.

Feng Huang, however, looked at Ye Chen with a complicated expression. The karma between the Feng Huang Clan and Ye Chen was bloody.

Dong Hua Qi Zi ascended to the heavens, with Jiu Chen tagging along. That guy had his eyes on Yun Xiao Zi and couldn't be shaken off.

"Honestly, I don't like seeing your face much." Long Cang Jie said as he left, tilting up Ye Chen's chin and examining him closely, as if tempted to slap him.

"Senior, are you flirting with me?" Ye Chen tugged at the corner of his mouth. If you were a woman, fine, but you're a big man lifting my chin—what's that about?

Long Cang Jie chuckled and withdrew his hand, turning to leave.

Next came Di Ji, her gaze at Ye Chen still hazy, making him feel uncomfortable all over. He secretly wondered if this world-conquering queen hadn't seen Liu Dao in ages and was mistaking him for Liu Dao.

"Actually, I'm not bad-looking either." Ren Wang sidled up, tossing his hair and throwing a flirtatious glance at Di Ji. "Want to chat about life?"

Di Ji ignored him, transforming into a strand of immortal light and vanishing into the virtual sky, leaving Ren Wang awkwardly standing there.

"That day, I wronged you." Long Jie approached, his voice hoarse. Though he spoke to Ye Chen, his eyes couldn't help but drift to Ji Ning Shuang.

"Stop looking." Ye Chen waved his hand and shoved Long Jie away.

Long Jie shook his head with a smile, flask in hand, gradually walking off. The prince of the Cang Long Clan cut a lonely figure from behind.

Following him was the Ling Clan goddess, her face pale and forlorn. She said nothing, only giving Ji Ning Shuang a cold, complex glance, her expression hard to read—mostly envy.

The Wu Clan godson and the Gu Clan goddess followed one after another, offering Ye Chen a courteous smile and giving Ji Ning Shuang looks full of complexity. Their scarred romances were all tied to Ji Ning Shuang, though it wasn't her fault. Blame fate for leading them astray.

"What's going on?" Ye Chen scratched his head, completely baffled. In his memory, these people weren't like this.

"It's all about love!" Zhong Huang, Nan Di, and Xi Zun sighed, then waved and left the immortal mountain.

"Let's go." Kui Niu and Xiao Yuan Huang slunk away, walking with a limp, clearly beaten badly. They silently swore never to provoke Ji Ning Shuang again.

"See you around." Bei Sheng said softly as she left, stepping forward to hug Ye Chen's cheek and plant a kiss.

"Don't mess around—my wife is right here." Ye Chen was stunned.

Bei Sheng said nothing, hurriedly turning and fleeing, her face flushed red.

"What a surprise." Ye Chen chuckled dryly, covering his lips and subconsciously glancing at Ji Ning Shuang.

Ji Ning Shuang was fine with it, gazing at the endless sky, her eyes seeming to say: Feel free to kiss, I won't care even if you go to bed with someone.

More and more people departed, each heading back to their homelands.

Once the outsiders had gone, Ye Chen picked up Xiao Ye Fan and stood with Ji Ning Shuang. They were leaving too.

"Take good care of Yaochi. If you dare bully her, the consequences will be severe." Yaochi Xian Mu glanced at Ye Chen.

"How could I?" Ye Chen chuckled awkwardly, acting carefree.

"Xian Mu, Yaochi is leaving." Ji Ning Shuang bowed.

"Granny, Fan Er will miss you." Xiao Ye Fan waved his little hand, his voice childish and adorable.

"Brother-in-law, we'll miss you too." The Yaochi immortal maidens waved their jade hands, their calls of "brother-in-law" as sweet as melodies.

"How come I'm a bit reluctant? I..."

Ye Chen's words were cut off as Ren Wang dragged him away. The three figures faded into the sunset.

Little did they know, the moment they vanished, the female Sheng Ti in Yaochi's underground palace opened her eyes again, her smile strangely eerie.

In the sky, Ren Wang summoned a domain gate, and the three stepped in.

Once inside the spatial passage, Ren Wang tucked his hands behind his back and looked at Ye Chen. "Do you know why Qiu Yu died?"

"I saw it—he was killed by me." Ye Chen replied casually while teasing Xiao Ye Fan.

"Not at all." Ren Wang shook his head. "It was a mysterious entity that sacrificed his soul. In the instant before you struck him down, he was already dead. You didn't kill him."

"Sacrifice the soul?" Ye Chen frowned, and Ji Ning Shuang did the same.

"I absolutely didn't see wrong." Ren Wang said slowly. "The so-called soul sacrifice is an extremely ancient secret technique, incredibly evil. It can instantly strip away a person's soul, on par with imperial immortal laws. In this era, few master it—or rather, it's been classified as a forbidden technique. This method has drawbacks; not just anyone's soul can be sacrificed. The mysteries involved are only clear to the one performing it."

"Do you know who sacrificed Qiu Yu's soul, senior?" Ji Ning Shuang asked immediately, with Ye Chen also turning to Ren Wang.

"The strange part is exactly that." Ren Wang took a deep breath. "With my cultivation, I couldn't see who did it. Di Ji, Jiang Tai Xu, and the others couldn't either."

"How is that possible?" Ye Chen found it hard to believe. "To evade your scrutiny, their level must be incredibly high."

"There's a sense of heart palpitations." Ren Wang said thoughtfully. "That mysterious entity is terrifying, on par with emperors. What puzzles me more is why they sacrificed Qiu Yu's soul. Do they have a grudge against the Honghuang Qiu Yu?"

Ye Chen fell silent, and Ji Ning Shuang did too, both with furrowed brows. If not for Ren Wang's words, they wouldn't have known. But now, hearing it, they felt an inexplicable unease, especially Ye Chen. If the soul sacrifice had targeted him instead, he'd already be on the road to the underworld.
