Chapter 1834: Playing with Heavenly Tribulation

Amid the rumbling thunder, the sky turned completely dark, with dark clouds rolling and churning, and streaks of lightning rampaging through the black clouds.

The little one cried even harder, tugging at everyone's heartstrings. This was a heavenly tribulation, no joke—it could easily lead to death.

Ye Chen's eyes were bloodshot as he stared fixedly at the heavens, his face pale. With his Reincarnation Eye, he could see that the heavenly tribulation was extraordinarily powerful.

The women's jade-like hands clenched until they bled, their delicate bodies trembling.

In retrospect, Ye Chen's decision to seal Chu Ling had been extremely wise. If her birth mother were here, no one could have stopped her.

"She is destined to walk the path against heaven," Tian Lao said, stroking his beard. "Such a prodigy, even the heavens are jealous."

"What a fine child, and now this heavenly tribulation strikes out of nowhere," Di Lao grumbled, pacing back and forth in agitation.

"So young, and already facing such a terrifying ordeal," many mothers said, hugging their own children tightly.

Compared to Xiao Ling'er, their children lived in such comfort.

At least, at this age, they didn't have to face a heavenly tribulation or linger at death's door.

As discussions buzzed, the heavens rumbled, and lightning descended from the sky.

The bolt was multicolored, dazzling and vibrant, yet it carried destructive power as it struck toward Xiao Ling'er.

In that instant, countless people covered their eyes, afraid to see the scene of Xiao Ling'er being reduced to ashes.

To everyone's astonishment, however, the lightning struck her without causing any ripple, like a drop of rain falling on a solid rock.

Xiao Ling'er lifted her little head, gazing curiously at the sky. Those multicolored lightning bolts looked so pretty.

She stopped crying, as if she'd found a fun toy. Giggling, she stepped into the void and headed upward.

An incredible sight unfolded: lightning poured down from the sky like rain.

The little one charged straight through it, running upward like a playful sprite, full of joy and energy.

As for the lightning, it was utterly ineffective against her. Bolt after bolt struck, yet nothing happened.

"My goodness!" Long Yi rubbed his bald head. "Is this really a heavenly tribulation? It feels like she's just playing around!"

"It's not that the heavenly tribulation is weak—it's that Xiao Ling'er is extraordinarily prodigious," Zi Xuan said softly, a rare smile gracing her face.

"In all my past and present lives, I've never seen such a lawless scene," Gu San Tong said, smirking.

"How about we send our little one up to try?" Xiong Er glanced at the baby in Tang Ru Xuan's arms.

"Get lost," Tang Ru Xuan snapped, ignoring him completely.

"Worrying is pointless," said the uncles, aunts, brothers, sisters, grandfathers, and grandmothers of Heng Yue, their expressions a mix of amusement and awe.

"I think we should just go back and keep drinking," Bei Lin said, stroking his chin. "That little kid is fine."

"Prodigies come every generation, but this year there are so many, all with such wild personalities," Hua Qing Luo tsked. "She's way stronger than I was back in the day."

"How are we supposed to handle this?" Dong Huang Tai Xin rubbed her forehead, looking embarrassed. She'd never seen anything like it.

It wasn't just her—even the divine generals and emperors felt awkward.

As for that father, his expression was hard to describe.

Was his precious daughter really this fierce? This wasn't just surviving a heavenly tribulation—it was playing with it, and having a blast doing so.

The women all had their mouths agape, unable to close them for a long time. When they finally did, they kept swallowing hard.

"How about we unseal Ling'er?" Chu Xuan suggested.

"Be serious," Ye Chen coughed, waving it off. Any worry could be dismissed—his little girl was just that fearless.

"I'm going," Lin Shi Hua said, turning and heading back to the mountain peak.

Soon, Chu Ling arrived, tilting her face upward in a daze as she stared. Was that really her little baby?

Under everyone's watchful eyes, the lightning grew even more intense, with bolts of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, weaving a spectacular display.

From the outside, each bolt seemed to carry utter destruction.

But the little one was darting around in the midst of it, taking wobbly steps and reaching out with her tiny hands to catch and play with the lightning, laughing gleefully all the while.

Beneath the heavens, besides the thunder's roar, her childish giggles rang out—clear, crisp, and full of delight.

Her antics provoked the heavens' fury, sending even more lightning cascading down like a waterfall.

Yet, embarrassingly, no matter how much lightning came, it couldn't touch her. The little one just played on, happier than ever.

She had truly become a spirit—a prodigious one at that.

This thought echoed in everyone's minds.

They'd seen people surviving heavenly tribulations before, but never one playing with it like this. The most awkward part was for the heavens themselves.

"Maybe tomorrow we can make another one," Ye Chen said meaningfully, his hand wandering to Chu Ling's waist.

"You sealed me, didn't you?" Chu Ling's beautiful eyes flashed with anger as she kicked Ye Chen away, her chest heaving.

"Isn't she fine?" Ye Chen said with a cheerful grin.

Chu Ling shot him a fierce glare and ignored him, turning her gaze back to the sky. Compared to this rogue, she was more worried about the little one.

Then, another bolt descended from the misty heavens, pitch-black and fiercely dominant, piercing straight through the void.

The little one was hit, stumbling and nearly falling from the sky, making everyone's hearts skip a beat.

In an instant, over a dozen black lightning bolts followed, each more ferocious than the last, infused with destructive power, intent on carrying out the heavens' will to obliterate her.

The little one was struck repeatedly, tumbling and staining her clothes with blood.

Her father grew anxious, her mother nearly burst into tears, and the women's faces turned deathly pale.

The people of Grand Chu furrowed their brows—all signs pointed to the heavenly tribulation overwhelming her; she might not make it.

Yet, once again, they underestimated Ye Ling'er.

In pain from the repeated strikes, the little girl was angered. She clenched her tiny fists, charged up through the void against the lightning, and a lotus flower manifested around her.

That lotus was multicolored and radiant—just like the one that appeared when she was born. It was an extraordinary vision and her innate Dao manifestation.

The lightning was dazzling but fierce; the multicolored lotus was beautiful yet even more untamed. Every bolt that struck—black, white, or purple—was swallowed whole by it.

"Can heavenly tribulation be swallowed?" Xie Yun asked, completely baffled.

"Is that multicolored lotus really this powerful?" The kings of past generations twitched their mouths—this ability was too overbearing.

"When that little one grows up, we should never cross her," a group of roguish elders muttered, tucking their hands away.

"Playing is one thing, but swallowing too? How untamed can she get?"

"We're all parents here—why are other people's kids so wildly talented?" A bunch of unreliable fathers glanced at their own children—the gap was immense.

Even the quasi-emperors were on edge. In all their vast experiences, they'd never witnessed such a bizarre scene.

They weren't unfamiliar with Sacred Spirit Bodies, but a Sacred Spirit Body that could devour heavenly tribulation was a first.

"You got anything to say about this?" The quasi-emperors turned in unison, eyeing the person next to them—the Human King.

"What can I say? She's just that impressive!" The Human King shrugged. If she could devour even him, swallowing a heavenly tribulation was nothing.

"That explanation checks out," the quasi-emperors said earnestly. Impressive people were everywhere this year.

"No worries, no worries—our little one's got some serious skills," Ye Chen said, holding Chu Ling's hand and patting it gently.

Though he said that, Chu Ling still looked worried, gripping his hand tighter until his bones cracked and splintered.

It was just that heavenly tribulations were so unpredictable—no one could guarantee safety until the end. She was only a child, after all.

But Xiao Ling'er proved herself worthy and feisty. She clenched her fists and fought her way up from below, devouring every bit of lightning in her path.

Her sheer abnormality left even the heavens exasperated, and the descending bolts grew weaker and weaker.

At some point, the void cleared of lightning, leaving only the little girl bouncing around on the clouds, reaching out to play with the cloud puffs—pure and radiant.

Having survived the heavenly tribulation, she became even more extraordinary. Multicolored immortal light swirled around her, and even her hair glowed with brilliant radiance.

Her multicolored lotus flickered in and out, dreamlike and illusory, merged with visions and infused with Dao principles, as heavenly sounds echoed.

This was like a rebirth for her. Her Qi of the Empty Nether Realm stabilized significantly, and after devouring the heavenly tribulation, her bloodline gained a intimidating aura that made many elders feel suppressed.

The other children were even more frightened, huddling in their mothers' arms and afraid to look, as if facing a ferocious beast.
