Chapter 1824: She Gave Birth

The bright moonlight and twinkling stars cast a dreamy light upon the tranquil Hengyue Sect, making it appear as peaceful as an immortal realm.

Ye Chen lay motionless on the bed. The paleness had faded from his face, replaced by a touch of color, and his restless vital energy was gradually calming.

"Mother, don't cry," a childlike voice, imbued with a magical power, echoed from deep within his divine sea.

Each time the voice sounded, his heart ached.

Unfortunately, his mind was still in a chaotic state. He couldn't trace the source of the voice or determine whose child was speaking. He only felt a profound sense of familiarity with the voice.

The night passed uneventfully. As dawn broke, a new day arrived.

At the foot of Yu Nü Peak, that group of fellows was still squatting there, their hands tucked into their sleeves. Each one had dark circles under their eyes and a grim expression.

They had waited fruitlessly all night without seeing anything. All they got was a thorough beating from Ye Chen, and they had no idea why they were even there.

"Hey, none of you guessed right, so according to the rules, the bets go to the house." Xiong Er stood up, a wide grin on his face.

"It's not over yet, who says we didn't guess right?" The crowd swarmed around, trying to snatch the money and run, but that wasn't happening.

"You don't believe me? Just go ask and find out." Xiong Er clutched his pants tightly, afraid the gang of scoundrels would rush over and rob him.

Ask? The moment they heard that, everyone backed down.

They were certain that if they went up to ask about this, they might not even make it back down. Ye Chen was ruthless with his hands, and his wives were equally fierce.

"If no one's asking, then it's mine." Xiong Er said, then turned and bolted. Despite his plump build, he was surprisingly fast.

"You little fat bear, how dare you run!" The crowd cursed loudly and chased after him with whatever they could grab.

Not just them, a group of improper elders had also rolled up their sleeves and joined the pursuit. "Our money, and you're taking it?"

And so, early in the morning, Hengyue Sect became incredibly lively, leaving people like Yang Dingtian rubbing their brows in exasperation. Having such a bunch of troublemakers around was truly something.

Outside the sect, many visitors arrived, both elders and juniors, mostly scattered cultivators who had missed the previous grand event and now came to pay respects to the Heavenly Court Holy Lord. None of them arrived empty-handed.

Hengyue Sect welcomed them all, gladly accepting the gifts.

However, it was awkward. Yu Nü Peak was sealed off, with ultimate emperor weapons hovering in the air, suppressing the heavens and earth. No one could enter, not even quasi-emperors.

The older generation among the scattered cultivators coughed awkwardly, glancing at the sealed Yu Nü Peak and the gifts they had presented.

The people of Hengyue Sect acted as if they hadn't noticed.

The gifts had been given. Taking them back? Not a chance. Earlier, Hengyue Sect had hosted a feast for cultivators from all of Da Chu, leaving them dirt poor, so these were now considered public property.

The visitors twitched their mouths. Were they all so straightforward here?

Though their faces darkened, no one dared complain. Hengyue Sect was not to be messed with. The Heavenly Court's three sects, nine halls, and eighty-one gates were half from Hengyue. As for emperors, Hengyue had two, with countless other formidable figures.

In Da Chu, you could provoke anyone except Hengyue. They had too many talents, and none with good tempers. The fierce spirit of Da Chu originated from here—absolutely authentic.

As a result, the visitors left without seeing the Heavenly Court Holy Lord and having lost their gifts, cursing and grumbling as they departed from Hengyue.

In the blink of an eye, three days passed, and visitors kept coming, not just from Da Chu but from various heavens.

Unfortunately, Yu Nü Peak remained sealed, with emperor weapons suppressing it, leaving everyone helpless. The gifts kept pouring in, but no one got to meet.

Thanks to Ye Chen, the once impoverished Hengyue Sect grew wealthy again, with the entire sect equipped to the highest standard.

On Yu Nü Peak, the women sat under the trees, hands propping up their chins, bored out of their minds. They occasionally glanced toward the pavilion. Three days had passed, and Ye Chen still hadn't woken up.

The heavenly tribulation had been too fierce. Even with Ye Chen's powerful foundation, he had barely survived, so it made sense he needed more rest.

It was only on the fourth day, at dawn, that he rubbed his head and sat up, staring blankly for a while before slowly regaining his senses.

"Zhu Xian Jian," he murmured to himself, his brows furrowed. To deduce it, he had actually provoked such a domineering heavenly tribulation, which was beyond his expectations. This disaster had caught him completely off guard.

Precisely because of that, his curiosity about the origins of Zhu Xian Jian grew even stronger—it was connected to the heavenly tribulation, far too mysterious.

Naturally, while feeling lingering fear, he couldn't help but feel puzzled.

No one knew better than him that someone had been absorbing his heavenly tribulation; otherwise, he wouldn't have passed through it so easily.

"You're awake." The women entered, relieved to see him unharmed. People like Xi Yan and Luo Xi still had tears in the corners of their eyes that hadn't dried.

"You've worried about me." Ye Chen smiled warmly.

"As long as you're okay." The women smiled, though they felt like crying.

In both this life and the previous, Ye Chen had never shouted at them like that before, his face even a bit fierce. It wasn't that he truly wanted to yell; he was afraid they'd be caught in the aftermath of the heavenly tribulation.

"I think we should discuss the sleeping arrangements." Ye Chen got out of bed and changed the subject. "For example, one per day, or two per day."

He shifted the topic smoothly, dispelling the sorrowful atmosphere. The women burst into laughter through their tears. "So, how many do you want?"

"All together would be best—more people, more fun." Ye Chen rubbed his hands and chuckled shamelessly, his laugh utterly lewd.

The women were amused, their cheeks flushing red. Sleeping together would be fun, but how embarrassing! They were cultivators, yes, but still women with their sense of modesty.

Wah wah wah!

Just as they were chatting happily, a sudden cry of a child echoed from a nearby peak, resounding throughout Hengyue Sect.

"It's born! It's born!" Then came a howling voice, loud and excited, full of joy.

Listening carefully, it was Xiong Er. From the sound of it, Tang Ruxuan had given birth, and he was about to become a father.

Well, his shout set the whole Hengyue Sect ablaze. People flocked toward that peak in droves—young disciples, elders, everyone.

After all these years, they finally had a new baby—such a joyous occasion. The current Hengyue Sect was in dire need of some good news.

"Don't try to cut in line, I'm going to be the godfather." Situ Nan and Xie Yun's group were the fastest, darting ahead.

"What godfather? This kind of job is mine."

"Get out of the way—I'm the one doing it, not you."

"I've already thought of the perfect, one-of-a-kind name for the kid."

They shoved and jostled, all fighting to be the godfather, making a racket and looking like a band of robbers.

But awkwardly, they had barely arrived and caught their breath when a large hand swatted them aside.

Ye Chen had arrived—he was the fastest one there.

Chu Xuan and the others also came, heading straight to Tang Ruxuan's room, carrying spiritual herbs for recuperation, not holding back at all.

"Come on, let me have a look." Ye Chen rolled up his sleeves and eyed the baby in Xiong Er's arms, who was sleeping soundly.

But at first glance, Ye Chen's mouth twitched. He paused for a second, and the late arrivals like Xie Yun, the disciples, and the elders all had twitching corners and expressive faces.

Because the baby in the swaddle was incredibly plump! All chubby flesh, one lump after another, with a round little head, white and fat, and those tiny eyes—adorably mischievous, though you had to pry them open to see.

Glancing at the baby, then at Xiong Er, everyone thought: this was basically a mini Xiong Er—definitely his own flesh and blood.

Rather than calling it a baby, it was more like a lump of fresh meat, straight out of the oven, probably weighing over ten jin.

"How about it? Isn't it adorable?" Xiong Er chuckled, beaming. Being a father changed him; he was radiating pride.

"Adorable." Including Ye Chen, they all replied with meaningful expressions. How did this whole family end up so... bear-like?

"The money's all ready—for the full moon celebration, you'll get your shares." Xiong Er grinned, his little eyes full of thoughts of wealth.

"Don't worry, it'll be substantial." Xie Yun patted Xiong Er on the shoulder. "I'll send over everything I've saved these years."

"This mountain could be filled with it." Situ Nan looked around, as if scouting a spot to display the gifts most prominently for the full moon.

"I figure Da Chu's specialties are still quite popular." Ye Chen fiddled with his storage bag, peeked inside, and nodded. "Hmm, plenty here—enough to last for years."

As they chatted nonsense, more and more people rushed over, the older generation all eager to see and hold the baby. What was "affection from the previous generation"? This was it.

As for the female disciples and female elders, they went to check on Tang Ruxuan—giving birth as a cultivator still left her weak.

Before long, Xiong Er's family and Tang Ruxuan's family arrived.

Xiong Er's father was the most imposing, with his round, solid build—actually, the whole Xiong family was built that way.

In contrast, the Tang family members were all normal, and every time they saw Xiong Er's face, they got veins popping on their foreheads. Our daughter is so graceful—how did she end up with you?

"This little guy is really something." Ye Chen looked at the baby, then stroked his chin, glancing at Chu Xuan and the others' bellies, wondering when his own might swell up.
