Chapter 1266: Continuing

In the Tianting Di Gong.

Ye Chen’s primordial spirit returned to its position, but he spat out a mouthful of fresh blood and remained in a coma. His entire sheng qu cracked open, with fresh blood surging forth, making him look blood-soaked and utterly frightening.

Long Yi and Yan Laodao were in no better shape, both vomiting blood as their auras instantly diminished to the extreme, as if they had suffered a backlash from some mysterious force, nearly perishing on the spot.

“Nonsense!”

The two of them cursed at Ye Chen before hurriedly sitting cross-legged, their bodies enveloped in flames.

The three of them were in a precarious state, with Ye Chen faring the worst. In his slumber, his expression twisted in agony, blood flowing from his seven orifices, his shen hai buzzing as if entangled by demonic sounds.

The night remained deep.

The Di Gong fell into a long silence.

After some time, Long Yi and Yan Laodao opened their eyes one after another, though their faces were still pale.

As for Ye Chen, he had not yet awakened.

Yan Laodao approached but restrained himself from beating Ye Chen.

“You almost got us killed, you brat.”

“This isn’t dead yet, is it?” Long Yi chuckled lightly, then pulled a small mirror from his robe and held it up in front of Ye Chen’s face, looking at Yan Laodao with interest.

“Huh?” Yan Laodao exclaimed softly, leaning in to look at Ye Chen and then the mirror. “What’s going on? Why doesn’t it reflect him? Is your mirror broken?”

“Nonsense, I just bought it.”

“That’s strange then.” Yan Laodao stroked his beard, his old eyes filled with profound meaning.

“Does your old sect have any secrets about this?” Long Yi put away the mirror and glanced at Yan Laodao.

“None.” Yan Laodao smoothed his beard. “If a mirror doesn’t reflect someone, it means they have no form. Based on my years of experience, his situation likely points to only one possibility.”

“What possibility?” Long Yi asked, intrigued.

“You can see it yourself, so why ask me?” Yan Laodao lifted his eyelids and glanced at Long Yi.

“I’m afraid what we’re seeing is all an illusion.” Long Yi took a deep breath. “He’s someone who has touched many taboos. What we see at a glance probably isn’t the real answer.”

As dawn approached, Ye Chen finally opened his eyes wearily, but his gaze was murky and confused, with a hint of bewilderment in the faint light. His entire mind was in chaos.

Yan Laodao and Long Yi had found comfortable spots and were watching Ye Chen with furrowed brows.

“Don’t tell us you’ve forgotten everything about the Ming Jie, or we’ll actually believe it.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Ye Chen rubbed his brow, with no memory of the Ming Jie.

“See, he really forgot.” Long Yi pursed his lips.

“I think it’s not forgotten; his memory must have been erased.” Yan Laodao stroked his large beard. “What shocks me is that the supreme existence in the Ming Jie actually allowed him to return.”

“Taking this story out, we could boast about it for a lifetime.” Long Yi sighed.

“First, let’s save him.” Yan Laodao raised his hand and summoned a yellow talisman from Ye Chen’s embrace with a suction force. It sealed one soul and three po of Lin Shihu, thankfully unharmed.

The one soul and three po were released and merged into Lin Shihu’s brow.

Lin Shihu, who was asleep, trembled suddenly, a divine light appearing at her brow, but she did not awaken. The reintegration of one soul and three po required time to fuse, especially after such a long separation.

Meanwhile, Ye Chen continued rubbing his brow, certain he had been to some place before but with no memory of it. Not only was his memory gone, but his mind was also muddled, and his thoughts disordered.

“You’ve stirred up trouble again.” Long Yi sat down and gave Ye Chen a thumbs-up.

“Did I go to the Ming Jie?” Ye Chen stared at Long Yi.

“Not only did you go, but you also provoked the supreme existence there. That segment of your memory was probably erased. But you should be grateful it was just your memory and not your life. You coming back alive is a stroke of incredible luck.”

“There’s actually such a thing.” Ye Chen furrowed his brow, recalling the warnings from Long Yi and Yan Laodao before entering the Ming Jie, but he couldn’t remember why he had angered the laws and supreme existence there.

“My heart is aching faintly.” As he thought, Ye Chen subconsciously clutched his chest.

“I’m going out for a walk.” Yan Laodao stretched and stood up.

“Me too.” Long Yi touched his bald head and followed Yan Laodao, not forgetting to throw a charming wink at Ye Chen. “Don’t strain your back.”

Ye Chen’s train of thought was interrupted, leaving him puzzled by the remark.

At that moment, Lin Shihu awoke, opening her beautiful eyes, but they were full of confusion.

She had now returned to normal, her expression no longer fearful and her body no longer trembling. She glanced around and finally looked at Ye Chen.

“Who are you? Where is this?”

Ye Chen smiled and stood up, flicking a ray of immortal light toward her.

The immortal light entered her, and Lin Shihu’s body shuddered, her expression turning pained.

“Ah!”

With a soft groan, she clutched her head, her body trembling in agony as a flood of memories surged into her mind. Ancient scenes and familiar faces slowly emerged.

She was Lin Shihu, a disciple of Hengye Zong, an apprentice of Taixu Ancient Dragon, and the shimei of Tianting Shengzhu.

Deep in her memories, at the back mountain of Hengye Zong, a warm hand had pulled her from hell.

Her last memory was on the back of a Qing Luan, nestled in his arms, smiling as she faded away. Even after a hundred years and through cycles of reincarnation, that warmth lingered.

Suddenly, she lowered her hands and lifted her tear-streaked face, staring blankly at Ye Chen. His face was chiseled and identical to the one in her memories.

“Welcome back!”

Ye Chen smiled, tears of vicissitude in his eyes.

“Ye Chen!”

Lin Shihu stepped forward and threw herself into his arms, clutching him tightly as if with all her strength, her cheek pressed against his chest, greedily listening to his steady heartbeat.

The Di Gong fell into a brief silence, filled only with the sound of her sobs.

As night fell again, the Di Gong was filled with conversation, each word laced with emotion and vicissitude.

Outside the Di Gong, Long Yi, Situ Nan, Niu Shisan, Wu Sanpao, and Taiyi Zhenren were all squatting in a row, hands in their sleeves, occasionally perking up their ears to listen to the sounds inside. But after listening all day, they heard nothing they wanted.

“Why is there no sound at all?” Long Yi touched his bald head.

“Ye Chen that jerk must have covered Lin Shihu’s mouth so we couldn’t hear.”

“I think that’s possible.” Wu Sanpao said with a serious expression.

“Looks like he’s the reserved type.”

“Who knows what position they’re in.”

“How about we use the Heavenly Eye to take a peek?” Taiyi Zhenren stroked his chin and glanced at the others.

“That might not be right!” The others said, but they all activated a trace of the Heavenly Eye technique, rubbing their hands with lecherous grins, their eyes shining brightly.

However, as they watched, they saw a golden hand swing out.

Smack!

With a series of crisp slaps, the group that had been squatting at the Di Gong entrance was sent flying into the sky the next instant. Their poses in mid-air were impressively dramatic, drawing the gazes of all the Tianting cultivators upward.

Ye Chen emerged, with Lin Shihu by his side.

Ye Chen glanced at the sky, as if he could still see them. What a bunch of jerks.

“Shixiong, I’m going for a walk!”

Lin Shihu smiled brightly and skipped away, full of joy like an innocent girl. She greeted everyone warmly; after all, they were all from Da Chu, so she wanted to take in the sight. Being in a foreign realm and seeing people from her homeland warmed her heart immensely.

That night, the atmosphere in Tianting was still lively.

However, a few individuals looked rather odd, like Long Yi, Situ Nan, Wu Sanpao, Niu Shisan, and Taiyi Zhenren, all clutching their faces.

The warm scene didn’t last long before it was interrupted by a booming sound.

The protective barrier of Da Chu Star had been breached.

Ye Chen stood up, narrowing his eyes as he looked at the stars.

The vast starry sky was covered by a dark shroud. Upon closer inspection, it was a vast sea of figures, their numbers so great that they blanketed the heavens in darkness.

“It’s Senluo Dian again!”

Long Yi and the others also stood up, full of fighting spirit.

Boom! Boom!

The sky rumbled, and the entire Da Chu Star trembled.

Leading the assault were indeed people from Senluo Dian, with over three hundred thousand cultivators from Senluo Dian alone.

In addition to Senluo Dian, there were eight other factions, all subsidiary forces like the previous Hua Long Zong, bringing many cultivators, including saints and quasi-saints. Counting them all, including Senluo Dian, there were over a million in total.

Nine saints and a hundred quasi-saints!

The black and white saints who had been tricked by Ye Chen earlier paled at the sight. The enemy forces were overwhelmingly large.

Three thousand against a million!

Ye Chen ascended to the central peak of the Nine Dragons Arching Heaven formation, forcibly raising the mountain by over a thousand zhang, making it the tallest among the peaks.

Then, the Heaven-Slaying Great Array revived once more, with Ye Chen boldly stacking thirty million yuan shi.

Long Yi and the others were not idle, rushing to the peaks to activate the killing arrays.

Boom! Bang!

The nine factions of Senluo Dian and its eight subsidiaries had arrived, setting up nine massive Heaven-Slaying Great Arrays in the directions around Tianting Xian Shan, each controlled by the invading saints.

Besides the Heaven-Slaying Great Arrays, numerous other killing and attack formations were arrayed across the surrounding heavens.

“What a grand formation!”

Ye Chen sneered coldly, cracking his neck.

“Kill! Kill for me!”

A saint from Senluo Dian roared, his voice shaking the heavens, as he raised his killing sword and pointed it at Tianting.

Immediately, the formations in all directions activated simultaneously, as if poised to shatter Tianting’s defenses in one strike.

“If you’re going to fight, then come!”

The people of Tianting shouted in unison, activating their arrays at the same time. They waited only for the enemy to enter the attack range before unleashing a thunderous blow.
