Chapter 1200: Rescuing People

After flying out of the ancient star, Ye Chen headed straight towards the eastern starry sky.

This expanse of starry sky was vast and boundless, but ancient stars were rare, and even when they appeared, they were mostly devoid of life.

Ye Chen wasn't surprised by this, as he was still on the edge of the Xuan Tian Star Domain. By convention, the edges of star domains were desolate areas. To reach truly prosperous ancient stars teeming with life, one had to head toward the domain's center, where cultivators gathered.

As he traveled, Ye Chen spotted a divine rainbow approaching from ahead.

Upon closer inspection, it was a purple gold gourd with a small old man sitting cross-legged on it. He wasn't tall and was bald, dozing off with his hands tucked in his sleeves.

Startled, Ye Chen quickly stepped forward to block the path.

The small old man abruptly halted the purple gold gourd and glared at Ye Chen, blowing his beard in anger."You got a problem? Don't you watch where you're going? How come you didn't crash and die?"

"Have you seen this mark?"

Ye Chen didn't waste words and directly manifested a Huo Yun imprint.

"I'm not telling you!"

The small old man glanced at Ye Chen and started to leave.

At that, Ye Chen slapped him across the face.

"Ow!"

The small old man was dazed by the slap, his head buzzing and his whole face contorted.

"Now do you get it?"

Ye Chen looked at the small old man with interest.

The small old man’s eyes were spinning with stars, and he instantly became meek."This is the mark of the Huang family from Hao Miao City on Chi Yan Star. In this starry sky, only they use the Huo Yun as their symbol. That's all I know."

Ye Chen said nothing and turned to leave.

The small old man scurried away even faster, but in the opposite direction from Ye Chen.

Ye Chen moved at incredible speed, streaking like a divine light with a clear target.

Chi Yan Star was marked on the star map and counted as a third-rate ancient star in the Xuan Tian Star Domain.

It wasn't until near dawn that Ye Chen paused briefly.

From afar, he spotted an ancient star that wasn't particularly large, only about one-ninth the size of Zhu Que Star.

That was Chi Yan Star, true to its name with its body engulfed in red flames, making it strikingly brilliant in this starry sky. It was also the first ancient star with life that Ye Chen had encountered on his journey.

"Interesting!"

Ye Chen charged forward like a divine light, entering Chi Yan Star.

Early morning on Chi Yan Star was lively, or more precisely, Hao Miao City, the largest city on the star, was bustling.

Looking out, the crowded streets were lined with people pointing and whispering toward one side.

What they were pointing at was a young man shackled at the hands and feet, walking with heavy steps like a criminal being paraded through the streets.

This young man was the one Ye Chen had seen during his tribulation. His clothes were tattered, his hair disheveled and covering half his face, his eyes dull and spiritless, like a man condemned to death.

"How pathetic! Who is he?" someone sighed.

"Chi Yun Nan."

"He's Chi Yun Nan?" someone exclaimed in surprise, eyes widening to get a better look.

"The young master of the Chi Yun family and once the top genius of Chi Yan Star, now being paraded like this."

"But where's the Chi Yun family now?" someone else lamented.

"I remember the events three years ago clearly—the entire Chi Yun family was wiped out."

"Why did the Chi Yun family have to mess with the Huang family of Hao Miao City? Now Chi Yun Nan has been captured and is being taken for execution. That'll truly end the Chi Yun lineage."

"Keep moving! Keep moving!" Amid the discussions, shouts rang out from two Huang family guards, one on each side, yelling fiercely while shoving Chi Yun Nan.

"Father, I'm useless." Chi Yun Nan's voice was hoarse and dry, his laugh bitter and desolate, without even the right to end his own life.

"Huh? Who's that?" someone murmured, drawing everyone's attention.

At one end of the street, a figure approached slowly, clad in a black robe and wearing a Gui Ming mask. The onlookers stood on both sides, making him stand out conspicuously in the middle.

Ye Chen had arrived, pinpointing the location accurately.

From afar, he saw the reincarnated person, and his body trembled uncontrollably.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Thunderous booms echoed as Ye Chen's steps grew heavier, each footfall shaking the ground. A chilling killing intent spread, turning the bustling street into a sheet of ice visible to the eye.

What a powerful killing intent!

The onlookers shivered, and those with weaker cultivation paled.

"Who dares block the way? Get lost!"

The two Huang family guards roared, unleashing their Huang Jing pressure.

Ye Chen's pace remained slow and steady, without stopping.

"You're asking for it!"

One Huang family guard raged, stomping the street to pieces and swinging a palm at Ye Chen.

Ye Chen's expression was calm as he countered with a palm strike.

The guard was sent flying, his arm exploding into a mist of blood, his body covered in wounds.

Hiss!

The spectators gasped. That was a Huang Jing expert, defeated so swiftly by a Zhun Huang. Everyone's gaze toward Ye Chen changed—he must be incredibly strong.

Buzz!

In the midst of the shock, the guard who had been flung away was impaled in midair by a war spear.

"You..."

The remaining Huang family guard's eyes widened in terror as he staggered back.

But as he retreated, his head separated from his body, his Yuan Shen extinguished along with it.

The scene was gruesome: the head rolled, blood sprayed, staining the street and eliciting cries of alarm. Two Huang Jing experts were slain in an instant, making Ye Chen seem like a god of death in their eyes.

Ignoring the surrounding shock, Ye Chen reached Chi Yun Nan and waved his hand to shatter the shackles.

"Why are you saving me?"

Chi Yun Nan looked at Ye Chen, his voice still hoarse.

"You're my brother!"

Ye Chen said with a teary smile, placing his hand gently on Chi Yun Nan's shoulder and channeling rolling Sheng Ti essence into him to break the seals and nourish his body.

"Brother!"

Chi Yun Nan murmured, his eyes full of confusion.

Boom! Boom!

No sooner had Chi Yun Nan spoken than rumbling sounds filled the heavens.

Roars of demonic beasts followed from the distance, prompting the onlookers to look up instinctively.

What they saw was a terrifying sight: over a hundred Chi Yan male lions, each carrying a person clad in Huo Yun robes, all exuding overwhelming auras.

"The Huang family's Chi Yan Shadow Guards!"

Someone cried out in fear.

"This is trouble!"

Many turned to Ye Chen with pity in their eyes.

"What a grand display!"

Ye Chen looked up quietly, a cold smile on his lips.

"Huang Liang!"

Chi Yun Nan stared at the sky, his dull eyes flashing with icy killing intent, locking onto the lead Chi Yan male lion—or more precisely, the purple-robed youth on it. It was he who had led the Chi Yan Shadow Guards to destroy the Chi Yun family years ago.

Ye Chen shifted his gaze and hoisted Chi Yun Nan onto his back."Let's find a place for you to recover your cultivation first."

"Dao friend, I'm already a cripple. You should escape!" Chi Yun Nan said hastily. "I don't know who you are or why you're saving me, but please don't get involved. You can't afford to provoke the Huang family."

"A hundred years ago, you weren't so hesitant." Ye Chen smiled and stepped into the air.

"A hundred years ago..." Chi Yun Nan muttered, not understanding what Ye Chen meant.

"Surround him!" A cold command echoed through the heavens as the hundred-plus Chi Yan male lions charged, filling the skies and making the firmament tremble.

"You have quite the nerve to harm my Huang family members." The purple-robed youth from the Huang family arrived, riding a Chi Yan male lion with an air of authority, much like his status as the young master of the Huang family in Hao Miao City, Huang Liang.

"Look at you acting all high and mighty—you must be worth a fortune." Ye Chen said nothing more and charged straight at Huang Liang.

"You're asking for death." Huang Liang immediately urged his Chi Yan male lion forward, wielding a red Chi Sheng Bing sword that slashed out a stellar river, cracking the sky.

"With you?" Ye Chen sneered, stepping through space in an instant to dodge, then closing in on Huang Liang like Suo Di Cheng Cun.

"You..." Huang Liang's face changed drastically as he frantically retreated.

"Where do you think you're going?" Ye Chen caught up and slapped him away, sending Huang Liang and his Chi Yan male lion tumbling through the air. The force of the blow turned the lion into a bloody mist on the spot.

"Young master!" The Huang family members rushed toward where Huang Liang had been flung.

"Kill him! Kill him for me!" The remaining Huang family Chi Yan Shadow Guards charged at Ye Chen, their killing intent soaring.

"Anyone who blocks me dies." Ye Chen swung the Lu Tian great halberd, cleaving through the oncoming guards and sending them flying, with many crashing to the ground in pools of blood.

"Damn." The spectators below couldn't help but curse.

"Is that guy a Zhun Huang?"

"Daring to cause such chaos—he must be a tough one."

"Kill! Kill him for me!" Huang Liang, who had been sent flying, returned supported by two others, roaring madly at Ye Chen like a rabid dog. As the esteemed young master of the Huang family and future ruler of Chi Yan Star, he had never endured such humiliation.

"Still barking?" Ye Chen struck down another Huang family guard with his halberd, seized his Chi Yan male lion, and charged at Huang Liang.

"You're asking for it." Someone bellowed immediately, stepping in front of Huang Liang to show loyalty.

"People who show off usually die fast." Ye Chen didn't hold back, swinging his great halberd to split the charging guard and his Chi Yan male lion in two, the blood spraying vividly.

"Kill! Kill him!" Huang Liang howled, retreating as he shouted.

"Anyone who blocks me dies." Ye Chen rode the Chi Yan male lion like a commanding general, dominating all who opposed him. No one could withstand a single strike from his halberd, leaving blood everywhere in his wake.

"He's actually this strong." Chi Yun Nan on his back exclaimed in surprise, not expecting a Zhun Huang to have such overwhelming combat prowess.

"Hmm?" In the midst of his rampage, Ye Chen glanced toward one side, where clouds churned and two Zhun Sheng pressures rampaged—it was likely the Huang family's ancestors.

"I'll settle accounts with you later." Ye Chen turned and retreated, avoiding the edge for now, mainly because he was carrying Chi Yun Nan. If it were just himself, he wouldn't fear two Zhun Sheng. That was his confidence.

"Stop him!" Huang Liang roared wildly, but it was too late—Ye Chen had already broken through the encirclement and vanished in an instant.
