I'm a total newbie, the kind that's super fresh and inexperienced.

This book got signed at 60,000 words, hit the test promotion at 100,000 words, and it's in the popular fantasy category for its first recommendation. Anyone familiar with the process knows it's rare for books to break through from there—at least, from what I've seen in past rounds, the ones that truly stand out can be counted on one hand.

As for the book itself, the core style won't change—that's clear from the moment Xu Xiaoshou shows up and breaks the system pointer. He's destined to be an unusual character, full of wild ideas, a bit goofy, and sometimes a little cringey with his hot-blooded moments...

Of course, not everyone will like that, and that's totally normal. I'm keeping a relaxed mindset—if a small group enjoys it, that's more than enough. If I'm being greedy, I'd just say, bring on a few more readers!

My goal in writing was simply to give everyone a fun distraction during downtime. If it goes further, I'd hope the story could stir up some emotions as it unfolds...

Maybe make you laugh out loud, or get lost in thought, or even sit in quiet reflection...

If that happens, it'd be amazing! If not, at least you've probably had a good chuckle, so it's all good!

On the supporting characters, I set them up from the start so not everyone revolves around one person, whether that's Xu Xiaoshou as the underdog or the overdog... I'll define their personalities first, then have them appear at the right moments—maybe in a supporting role or stealing the spotlight—as long as they move the plot forward. That's what I'm aiming for.

The line between genius and madman is razor-thin, and if my characters ever blend into the crowd, it's probably because I've lost my spark!
