Chapter 961: Heroes' Gathering

In the room, except for Di Ma, almost all the Shengxiao surged forward and tackled Di Hu to the ground.

The table was overturned, food spilled everywhere, and even two chairs were smashed.

Hands from various animals, in all colors, roughly covered Di Hu's mouth, as if to suffocate him alive.

Di Hu's actions were truly shocking, leaving everyone stunned and unsure of what to do.

Now, was it better to escape... or to directly turn in Di Hu?

"Uh uh..."Di Hu couldn't breathe, waving his hands wildly, but the others ignored him, just staring blankly at the door.

Though it was an experiment... this one was far too bold.

If they really angered Qing Long, everyone's death would happen in an instant.

Based on what they knew about Qing Long, he wouldn't even bother listening to any pleas for mercy—he'd just kill everyone in the room as quickly as possible.

The only sounds in the room were Di Hu's muffled grunts and the stunned heartbeats of the others.

Qing Long had Yueqian, so if he had heard that remark... he'd probably appear in a second.

The door would be blown off its hinges, and all the Shengxiao would vanish into thin air.

But now, they'd waited for several dozen seconds... why hadn't he come?

Could he really not have heard...?

"Are we... about to become 'ants'?" Di Zhu asked sadly. "Will all the promises we made with our friends never come true?"

No one among the Shengxiao responded to him; they just quietly waited another three minutes and realized there was absolutely no movement at the door.

Not only could they not feel the oppressive presence of Qing Long approaching, but even Tian Gou hadn't shown up.

After a moment of silence, they slowly released their hands from Di Hu's mouth.

"Hey! Why are you covering my mouth?" Di Hu quickly pushed them away. "What did I say? I told you their ears grow downward—believe me now?"

The Shengxiao got up, half-believing and half-doubting, as the whole thing seemed absurd no matter how they thought about it.

Earlier, they had guessed that Shengxiao killings went unpunished... and now, cursing Qing Long on the train also went unchecked?

What was the point of the train existing? Was it just a place for the many Shengxiao to live?

Di Hu stood up, picked a chair off the ground, and sat down. "Why are you all so tense... I was the one who said it, so if anything happens, they'll just deal with me."

"Sigh..." Di Gou rubbed his temples. "We're all in this room, after all. Do you think Qing Long has the time to listen to us explain everything before executing us...?"

He shook his head, feeling utterly exhausted.

Di Shu glanced at Di Gou, then turned to Di Hu. "Leader Hu, see that? Even Dog is shaking his head at your plan."

"You... that's not right." Di Gou frowned slightly. "Who are you even insulting with that?"

"Don't worry, I'm not targeting anyone specifically, because I'm not insulting people." Di Shu waved his hand and picked up a chair from the ground. "I just hope our bold Leader Hu can be a bit more steady—even the grass on the fence is wilting from fear."

"Damn it, practice makes perfect knowledge!" Di Hu said loudly. "Otherwise, how would we know the truth just by guessing? Do you really think I'm Yang Ge?"

"Who the hell would dare call you Yang Ge?!" Hei Yang stood up with a fierce look. "You're reckless on your own, but dragging us into risking our lives—what's that about?"

"Stop arguing... stop arguing... my ears are about to explode..." Di Gou waved his hands quickly. "Can't you all just sit down and talk properly...? This is too exhausting; what kind of curse did I bring on myself to join you guys...?"

The tall Di Tu watched the noisy group, not knowing what to do, so he grabbed a handful of sunflower seeds from the ground and approached Di Ma, who hadn't said much.

"Want some sunflower seeds...?" Di Tu asked tentatively, holding out his hand.

As he got closer, Di Tu realized that Di Ma, though a woman, was almost as tall as him, both nearing 1.9 meters.

Was it due to the Ma characteristics, or was she naturally that height?

Di Ma's right foot was wrapped in thick bandages, but she didn't choose to sit; she just stood by the wall.

"I don't want any." Di Ma replied coolly, glancing at the bandages on Di Tu's body before turning her head away, as if she hadn't seen anything.

"Hey... this place is really lively." Di Tu tried to start a conversation.

"Um."

The two fell silent after that, just quietly watching the noisy Shengxiao in the room.

Di Tu felt like he had some kind of special ability—to kill any conversation dead.

"Layabout dog!" Di Zhu said with a displeased face. "What do you mean by that? 'What kind of curse to join'? We're bonded partners; saying that is just being defeatist!"

"What the... is 'defeatist' even used like that...?" Di Gou frowned. "If you're going to be dramatic, why not spend that energy reading more books?"

"Hold on..." Di Tu said while cracking sunflower seeds, "I don't get it—you're just chatting, so why did the 'rabbit' die?"

"What's it to you whether I read or not?!" Di Zhu ignored Di Tu and turned back to Di Gou. "Are you asking for a beating? How dare you talk to me like that?"

All the Di-level Shengxiao were equals, so in the same room, no one could give orders, and soon they were arguing again.

Just as the argument was escalating, a faint but polite knocking sound came from the door.

Knock knock knock knock knock.

The noisy group fell silent at once, and the fear of Qing Long that had just faded surged back.

Knock knock knock knock knock.

"Oh man." Di Hu paused his large tiger head. "So it's not that he's ignoring me... it's just delayed?"

Di Shu and Hei Yang exchanged glances and swallowed hard...

Was Qing Long actually this polite?

"A real man owns up to his actions!" Di Hu roared and headed straight for the door. "Anyway, whether I'm in this group or not doesn't matter—I'm just eliminating an option for everyone!"

He brushed off the others' attempts to stop him, reached the wooden door, and opened it, holding his head high with a righteous expression.

In the next second, a flurry of slaps came flying from outside, all landing on Di Hu's large tiger head.

The slaps weren't heavy, but they made him stagger back repeatedly.

When everyone saw who had entered, they all fell silent.

"Are you going to keep it down?!"

A shrill female voice shouted at everyone in the room.
