Chapter 933: Solved?

"Zhichun," Jiang Ruoxue still looked concerned as she held Yan Zhichun's hand. "You mentioned before that you often space out. What exactly did Bai Yang do to your memories?"

"That's hard to say..." Yan Zhichun replied. "I can only speculate. After all, Bai Yang is no longer in this world, so I can't ask him for the truth. Even if I could find him, he would absolutely never tell me the real story."

"So your jumbled memories..." Jiang Ruoxue said, "you're just going to accept them as they are?"

"I'll find the answers..." Yan Zhichun said. "Besides, I feel like I'm not the only one who has experienced this. I just don't know if others also 'space out.' I was closest to Bai Yang, so I might have been affected the most."

"This is my fault too. We've been together for so long, and I never noticed anything wrong with what you said."

"That's because it seems fine at first glance." Yan Zhichun sighed. "Only by breaking everything down carefully can I spot the inconsistencies. It has nothing to do with you..."

After hearing this, Jiang Ruoxue turned to Zhao Yisheng. "Doctor Zhao... is there any way to resolve Zhichun's condition?"

"Resolve... a solution...?" Zhao Yisheng paused slightly. "Miss, I might not have explained it clearly. From a professional standpoint, the brain has already 'resolved' this matter."

"Are you saying..." Jiang Ruoxue said with a hint of disbelief, "that the repaired memories are the brain's chosen solution?"

"Yes." Zhao Yisheng nodded. "As I said, everyone's brain is 'alive.' It judged and handled this perfectly on its own. These processes happen in the subconscious and are beyond our control. It's just that this young lady's case is quite rare. I've never seen such a powerful subconscious before, which has led to an extraordinary level of brain repair beyond what most people understand."

Yan Zhichun frowned and rubbed her forehead after hearing this. It all seemed too coincidental... Even the way she "trained her subconscious" was something she had learned from Bai Yang.

Although Bai Yang had never required her to train her subconscious, Yan Zhichun had instinctively emulated him and tried as much as possible to forget that she was a "person." She chose to go without food or sleep for extended periods, day after day, solely focused on becoming stronger.

Could her brain have been influenced by this subconscious drive, leading to a form of "repair" that normal humans couldn't achieve?

"A self-repair that transcends the human brain..." Yan Zhichun murmured quietly. "That means most of the events in my memories are real... but the timeline is fake? Once the timeline is altered, the brain fabricates memories to make it seem logical."

"I haven't experienced it myself, but that's probably how it works." Zhao Yisheng nodded. "In my view, the brain is protecting you, so there's no need to 'resolve' it or seek the 'truth.' Otherwise, you'll end up hurting yourself in the end."

"I understand..." Yan Zhichun replied with narrowed eyes. "I just hope I can control my curiosity..."

"There's someone outside the door." Zheng Yingxiong suddenly spoke up.

"Someone...?" Yan Zhichun looked toward the door, but it was empty.

In the moment of everyone's surprise, Jiang Ruoxue quickly stood up and stepped out to check, only to see a figure flash around the corner of the corridor and hurry away.

The person was already more than ten steps away and seemed to have decided to leave before Zheng Yingxiong said "there's someone outside the door."

"Who was it?" Yan Zhichun asked.

"I don't know." Jiang Ruoxue pulled back inside. "They've gone far. Maybe it was just someone passing by?"

"It's a confused person." Zheng Yingxiong said. "They don't have any malice, but they're very confused."

Both Jiang Ruoxue and Yan Zhichun looked at this cryptic child, not sure what to say.

"Oh... this is my fault." Zhao Yisheng stood up. "Things have been a bit unsettled at Tian Tang Kou lately. There are so many unfamiliar people coming and going. We might need to increase patrols. I'll mention it to Zhang Shan."

"It's fine." Yan Zhichun said. "We'll be leaving here once it gets light out."

"Ah...?" Zhao Yisheng was taken aback. "Don't be in such a hurry... Tian Tang Kou is actually quite nice. There's food, drink, and people to look out for each other. You could stay and see for yourselves."

Neither of them responded, as explaining would take too much effort.

"What does 'Li Xi' mean?" Zheng Yingxiong suddenly asked.

"Huh...?" Zhao Yisheng was slightly stunned. "What 'Li Xi'... Where did you get that from, child?"

He never expected a seven- or eight-year-old boy to accurately name his "Hui Xiang."

"Is 'Li Xi' used to 'analyze' something?" Zheng Yingxiong asked, seeming unsure of the word's meaning—it was beyond what he had learned—so he probed tentatively. "Or is it used to 'explain' something?"

"It's probably used to 'decompose' things." Zhao Yisheng replied. "But how do you know that name?"

Zheng Yingxiong didn't answer. Instead, he went over to Yan Zhichun, tugged at her, and said, "We need this person."

"What...?" Yan Zhichun paused. "You..."

"I've caught a whiff of your 'idea.'" Zheng Yingxiong said. "It's been lingering in your mind for so long that it's deeply rooted and clear enough to reach mine. Your 'idea' will be a bit difficult to execute... You'll need 'Li Xi' for it."

"You know my idea...?" Yan Zhichun was astonished by this. "Even without me saying anything, you can tell?"

"Yes, but only the general idea, not the details." Zheng Yingxiong said. "But... with 'Duoxinpo,' having 'Li Xi' will make your plan go more smoothly. It's for the organization's sake too. Why not give it a try?"

Yan Zhichun thought for a moment and asked, "What exactly does 'Li Xi' refer to?"

"Well... it's basically something that can break things down into sand or fragments." Zhao Yisheng replied. "What about you all? Do you have 'Hui Xiang' too? What are your abilities?"

Zhao Yisheng still thought this was just a conversation that might lead to new friends, unaware that each of them had their own thoughts and was plotting their next move.

"So it's the 'Li Xi' from 'break apart and scatter'..." Yan Zhichun murmured. "In that case... having you join wouldn't be a bad idea."
