Chapter 927: Eight Doors

“These years… you’ve worked hard,” Qi Xia said. “Let the subversion begin.”

Yan Zhichun stared into Qi Xia’s eyes and nodded slightly, then said:“Yang Ge… although we parted not long ago, I do have some questions I want to ask you.”

“What?” Qi Xia asked.

“You… do you want to take responsibility for the entire ‘Ji Dao’?” Yan Zhichun said in a low voice. “Once these people start participating in the plan you’ve set, there’s no turning back for them forever.”

“No need to turn back…” Qi Xia’s eyes darkened. “We don’t have many opportunities left; this is our all-in bet after seventy years. Now, a large number of strong individuals are gathering in ‘Dao Cheng’ to witness the final moment… so none of us can turn back.”

Yan Zhichun lowered her head, and after a few seconds, she asked:“Yang Ge… tomorrow, you’re having me participate in the ‘Di Long’ game with you, so this time… will we be teammates?”

“Yes,” Qi Xia answered. “There aren’t many people I trust; you’re one of them.”

“It’s really… a familiar feeling,” Yan Zhichun said. “There aren’t many people I trust either; you’re one of them.”

“That’s good, go and prepare,” Qi Xia nodded.

Yan Zhichun was just about to turn and leave when suddenly she thought of something. She placed her hand on the doorframe and slowly turned back, staring at Qi Xia with an extremely strange gaze.

“What’s wrong?” Qi Xia asked.

“I just thought of something.” Yan Zhichun’s gaze calmed down. “Yang Ge, you said something earlier that made me concerned.”

Qi Xia didn’t reply immediately; he just stared at her, his expression suggesting he knew what she was going to say.

After thinking for a few seconds, Yan Zhichun slowly said:“When you first entered the room, you said you really like the name ‘Ji Dao,’ that as a ‘needle’ it’s very suitable… right?”

“Is there anything wrong with that?”

Yan Zhichun’s eyes flickered slightly, and she whispered:“Don’t you remember how the name ‘Ji Dao’ came about…?”

“I…”

Qi Xia narrowed his eyes, his deep gray-white eyes seeming to hide a lot of information, but Yan Zhichun’s years of experience had honed her ability to discern some of it.

“You haven’t fully recovered your memory… have you?” Yan Zhichun asked incredulously. “I thought you might lie to me, but I didn’t expect you to deceive me right from our first meeting… Are you planning to lead the entire ‘Ji Dao’ to their death with your incomplete memory?”

“No matter if I’ve recovered my memory or not, I only know that I’m in excellent condition right now,” Qi Xia said. “Even if I’m incomplete, I absolutely have the ability to win this battle.”

Yan Zhichun swallowed hard after hearing this; she knew she was in a dilemma. Although Bai Yang had returned and was standing here perfectly fine, his memory hadn’t fully recovered.

In other words, the current Bai Yang wasn’t in his “full state,” yet he was taking on all the previous complex plans.

“Yang Ge, do you still remember the matters of ‘Sheng Men’ and ‘Si Men’…?” Yan Zhichun asked tentatively.

Qi Xia didn’t answer; he just stared at Yan Zhichun with an ambiguous expression.

At that moment, Yan Zhichun realized that the most crucial part of the plan had a problem—the leader had lost a large part of his memory.

No matter how you look at it, this plan seemed a bit rash.

“I don’t remember, but you can tell me,” Qi Xia finally answered. “As long as you can recap the situation back then, I can give the best countermeasure.”

Yan Zhichun thought for a long time and said:“Yang Ge… although I don’t really want to recap this with you, it concerns the lives of our ‘Ji Dao’ members, so I have to get your guidance.”

“Go ahead.”

“I…” Yan Zhichun was about to speak but didn’t know where to start, so she hesitated for a while and said:“Yang Ge… have you received the ‘map’?”

“Yes,” Qi Xia answered.

“Good… since that’s the case, it’ll be easier to communicate,” Yan Zhichun said. “You once told me that there are seven ‘Sheng’ gates and one ‘Si’ gate on it; has the situation changed now?”

After hearing this, Qi Xia’s eyes flickered, as if he was quickly piecing together the causes and effects in his mind. Although he could think of many different scenarios, from his expression, it seemed he still hadn’t recalled the whole thing.

This made Yan Zhichun even more uneasy.

After about a minute, Qi Xia slowly opened his mouth and said softly:“Yan Zhichun, all eight gates are ‘Sheng Men’; don’t worry.”

The air froze for three seconds, and Yan Zhichun slowly frowned:“Yang Ge, are you… planning to continue lying to me…?”

“Oh?”

“You once told me that if you ‘recovered your memory,’ we should immediately organize the ‘destruction,’ but what’s your situation now… You’ve only recovered a small part of your memory and are even preparing to deceive me…”

“Which part did I lie to you about?”

“All eight gates are ‘Sheng Men’… You’ve clearly forgotten everything; you don’t know the whole story, yet you’ve already concluded that all eight gates are ‘Sheng Men’…” Yan Zhichun said, her voice trembling. “How can I believe you?”

“I truly don’t know the specific situation,” Qi Xia said coldly. “But the idea of seven ‘Sheng Men’ and one ‘Si Men’ sounds just like a trap I would set myself.”

“A trap…?” Yan Zhichun slowly widened her eyes, looking completely unable to understand this statement.

“If I’m not mistaken…” Qi Xia sneered. “That self-righteous Bai Yang, did he tell you ‘I’m not sure which one is the Si Men’?”

“You…” Yan Zhichun swallowed. “How did you…”

“He knew the exact number of people, knew the types of ‘Sheng Xiao,’ knew their positions, and knew that the enemy is only one person… yet he specifically didn’t know who that one person is? How ridiculous? Could such a lie fool you?” Qi Xia slowly smiled. “That sheep underestimated me… He should have left a harder problem for me to think about, instead of this childish trick.”

Yan Zhichun quickly raised her hand, as if trying to stop Qi Xia, because she remembered that even when Bai Yang explained this, he had activated ‘silence,’ meaning that matters regarding these eight ‘Sheng Xiao’ weren’t convenient to discuss directly here.

“Nothing to be careful about,” Qi Xia said. “The schemes that needed to be fallen into have been, and the paths that needed to be laid have been laid. Even Qing Long is on my side.”

After hearing this, Yan Zhichun’s expression darkened again; she felt that the person in front of her had become somewhat strange.

“Yang Ge… although I believe in your strength, I understand the former Bai Yang even better. His plans were always inscrutable to me… What if you can’t catch it…?” Yan Zhichun asked. “What if you drop the plate on the ground? So many people… all going to die with you?”

“Yan Zhichun…” Qi Xia’s eyes gradually turned stern, and he slowly said:“Since when… have you had so many doubts about me?”

“I…”

“Even if I have no memory at all, do you think you can surpass me?”

Qi Xia’s words made Yan Zhichun feel a chill down her back, and a familiar yet tense feeling instantly enveloped her whole body.

“Moreover…” Qi Xia stepped forward, pointing to his own eyes as he smiled:“Do you think I am still a ‘person’ now?”
