Chapter 817: Worldly Sorrows

"That’s not ‘two stores,’ it’s two social media platforms," Di She said. "If you don’t understand, can you not talk nonsense?"

"Then can you not mock others carelessly?" Qiao Jia Jin asked.

"What I do, do I need to listen to your arrangements?" Di She said with a displeased face. "This is my own choice, and besides, everyone who joins the organization does so voluntarily."

"Sounds nice," Qiao Jia Jin snorted coldly. "Do these old friends know you’re mocking them behind their backs?"

"Of course not," Di She replied. "If they knew, how could I keep laughing?"

"But these people think they’ve found redemption with you, only to realize they’ve become clowns," Qiao Jia Jin said. "If you’re facing troubles in your own life, don’t you wish someone would help you? When you finally muster the courage to accept help from others, only to find out it’s a scam, wouldn’t you be even more devastated?"

"What does that have to do with me?" Di She said. "What ridiculous ‘Hu Zhu Hui’... Is there really a saint in this world who helps others wholeheartedly? I provide the venue, the time, and emotional value. These people just come and vent their grievances, and they get comforted by many—this is no different from manna falling from the sky."

Qi Xia, who had been listening for a while, felt the situation was a bit odd. He stroked his chin and asked, "If I’m not mistaken, we were just talking about wanting to understand the ‘Hu Zhu Hui,’ but you’ve laid all your cards on the table for us. Is that okay? What if we’re participants wanting to join the organization?"

"Don’t kid around," Di She waved his hand. "The three of you have eyes that are one arrogant, one pure, and one wild. What kind of laughable sorrows could you possibly share with me?"

"What if we do?" Qi Xia asked.

"If you do, then it wouldn’t be a sorrow I could laugh at," Di She said. "I only need the sorrows of people who are worse off than me. I don’t want to hear the sorrows of people like you. If you’re doing poorly, it’s what you deserve—it’s heaven’s justice, karma for the wicked."

"I have a pretty good idea of what kind of person you are now," Qi Xia nodded. "But you’re at the ‘Di Ji’ level now, surpassing ordinary people in every way. Why do you still need to hear other people’s sorrows?"

"Because I’m really sad, damn it!!" Di She glared with wide eyes. "Can’t you see the sadness in my eyes?!"

"Sorry, you have eyes like a snake, so I can’t tell," Qi Xia said.

"You have the nerve to say that to me..." Di She sneered. "Are your eyes better than mine?"

"So, you know me...?" Qi Xia asked.

"I’m in a bad mood right now, so I’m not answering that question," Di She said, turning his head away.

"Fine, then tell me why someone at ‘Di Ji’ needs the sorrows of ordinary people?"

Di She thought for a moment before replying, "I’m such a conflicted person. I’m cynical, look down on everyone, hate the rich, the handsome, women, and even kindness. But once I hear a truly tragic story... I end up feeling sad too, even deeply empathizing with it..."

"So?" Qi Xia asked.

"So I just need to hang myself..." Di She said. "When normal people go through something like that... they’d jump off a building or hang themselves, right? But every time I try to hang myself, I realize how strong my body is. Something that would kill an ordinary person doesn’t hurt me at all. Then I understand that even if those sorrows fell on me, I couldn’t be brought down, and I instantly feel happy again. That’s what I repeat in every cycle. I need to ‘hang myself’ to prove I’m stronger than them."

After listening, Chen Jun Nan was getting restless: "Man, you live such a contradictory life—wanting to do things, feeling sad, being scared, attempting suicide, and then getting happy. It’d be better to just stay put honestly."

"Stay put honestly...?" Di She said. "I told you, I do whatever I want. Even if every sudden idea has long-lasting effects on me, that’s on me. Besides, if I really did nothing, I’d go crazy quickly... I just don’t get how those colleagues can stand at the venue entrance every day. Don’t they get bored to the point of insanity?! Don’t they have any thoughts in their heads?!"

"Maybe they have thoughts, but not as intense as yours," Qi Xia said.

"Ha." Di She was amused by Qi Xia’s words. "I’ve always had an intense heart, and I think everyone in this world has a dirty heart—it’s just a matter of degree."

"Okay, next question," Qi Xia said. "How’s your mood right now?"

"It’s okay, but I still kind of want to hang myself," Di She replied.

"Save it for later," Qi Xia said, then pointed at Chen Jun Nan. "What did you just do to him? Can you control someone’s emotions?"

Di She looked at Qi Xia, then smirked and said, "Come on, let’s give it a try."

"Try what?"

Di She stood up and walked over to the group, extending his hand with the back facing down.

"Let’s all shout a cheer together," Di She said. "Once we do, you’ll understand."

"Are you serious?" Chen Jun Nan asked. "Can’t you just tell us straight?"

"What’s the fun in that?!" Di She said maniacally. "Come on!! This will make me feel better!!"

Qi Xia stepped forward and placed his hand on Di She’s. Qiao Jia Jin and Chen Jun Nan followed, putting their hands on top of Qi Xia’s, and Qin Ding Dong was the last one, stacking his hand on theirs.

Di She looked thrilled: "Now I’ll show you my trick!"

Then he counted, "One, two, three," and shouted, "Cheer on!"

In the end, only he was shouting.

"Qi Xia," Di She called out, "looks like you haven’t retained your memories—it’s really going to kill me with laughter."

"Oh?" Qi Xia smiled. "Hearing you call my name, I realize coming to find you was definitely the right choice."

"Too bad I feel like talking to you one moment and not the next—what can you do about it?" Di She said. "Now you’ve even forgotten what happens when you touch me, so you’re in for it."

"Then I’ll wait and see."

In just a few seconds, the expressions on the people around Qi Xia started to change.

Chen Jun Nan and Qiao Jia Jin both furrowed their brows, while Qin Ding Dong’s eyes turned red.

They all looked very sad, as if weighed down by heavy thoughts.

"Ha ha ha ha!" Di She laughed loudly. "It feels so good to laugh freely! No need to pretend—I just want to mock the sadness in your hearts! Make you cry if I want you to cry—what’s the difference between me and a god?!"

But after laughing for a bit, Di She started to feel something was off.

He shifted his gaze from the people around Qi Xia and looked directly at Qi Xia himself.

Qi Xia was standing there with a completely expressionless face, saying, "Is that all you’ve got?"

"What...?" Di She was slightly stunned. "How is that possible... You’re the one who touched me directly... You... You..."

"It’s fine," Qi Xia said slowly, extending his hand again. "Let’s try it once more."
