Chapter 803: Tug-of-War Game

"Bullshit!" Wang Ge roared. "I thought you had a good idea, but you're planning to let four out of our six people die?"

Qi Xia found the group nearby quite amusing. He walked over to the side, found an old wooden crate, and sat down, quietly watching everyone.

Since Di Niu was facing away from him the whole time, she didn't realize he had entered her area. The men in the distance just saw Qi Xia as an ordinary "participant" onlooker, so no one paid him any mind.

"Wang Ge, think it through!" the bespectacled fat man explained. "We all have limited strength, and we've already used up most of it. If we try killing one person each time, we won't even defeat this cow before we're all exhausted!"

"You..." Wang Ge hesitated clearly after hearing that.

"Instead of trying multiple times and failing, why not just make sure she can't use her limbs? That way, we'd have a sure win, right?" the fat man continued. "Do you want to gamble on a slim chance, or go for a hundred percent victory?!"

At that moment, aside from the bespectacled fat man, the other five looked troubled.

With six people and four having to die, this seemingly simple tug-of-war game had turned into a deadly challenge with a 66.6% fatality rate.

"What's there to hesitate about?!" the fat man said again. "If we win this game, each of us gets ten 'Dao'. Do you know what that means if we double it four times? Ten multiplied by two, four times over—that's one hundred sixty 'Dao' per person!!"

"Huh?" Wang Ge was stunned. "Is that how it works? I thought it was only forty per person..."

After hearing this, everyone turned to look at Di Niu, who smiled and nodded at that very moment. "You're correct. Each of you gets one hundred sixty 'Dao'. So, how do you want to decide?"

"But there's still a problem... It sounds like a lot, but what about the people who die? Do they still get 'Dao'?" Wang Ge asked.

"That's how it usually is," Di Niu nodded. "But since I'm just starting out, I can offer a 'grand opening special'. Everyone in this game gets 'Dao' regardless of life or death. The 'Dao' from those who die will go to the survivors, and how you divide it is up to you."

"Damn..." The man called Wang Ge furrowed his brow, gritted his teeth, and muttered, "Six people, each getting one hundred sixty 'Dao'—that's a total of nine hundred sixty. Are we really going this big?"

"I think it's reliable," the fat man said. "This woman doesn't seem like one of those 'Sheng Xiao'. She even explained the 'Tian She Shi Ke' solution to us, so she's not a bad person, right?"

Qi Xia sat nearby, stroking his chin. He felt this game was indeed interesting. If he was right, none of these six would escape—they'd all die here.

Di Niu had helped them break the 'Tian She Shi Ke' probably for her own "business". She couldn't let these hard-won "participants" become prey for the 'Tian She'.

After all, the 'Tian She' didn't need these six heads, but Di Niu did.

"Tug-of-war..." Qi Xia pondered briefly.

If he had to join a strength-based game, what would be a good strategy?

In just three seconds, he made his judgment. The best strategy would be not to join a strength-based game at all.

As Sun Zi said: The skilled warrior makes himself invincible first.

As long as you don't participate in a strength-based game, the opponent can never win.

Wang Ge gathered the group and whispered among themselves for a while before turning back and asking, "Hey! Di Niu!"

"Hmm?"

"If she can't use her limbs, how will you do the tug-of-war with us?"

Di Niu thought for a moment and said, "I can tie the rope around my waist and curl up on the ground. I'll keep my hands and feet still—as long as you can drag me away, you win."

"Wang Ge! Did you hear that?!" the fat man grabbed his clothes and said. "She won't even move her hands and feet! She can't exert any force!"

"This is insane..." Wang Ge scratched his head repeatedly, feeling the temptation was overwhelming.

Even though they knew there might be a trap, no one could figure out where it would be.

A person curled up, unable to move their limbs—surely they could drag her by the rope around her waist?

Besides, Di Niu was clearly a woman, slim and with a soft voice. No matter how you looked at it, her body couldn't weigh a thousand jin.

What's more, they had two strong men among them. If they put all their effort in, they could pull not just an average woman, but even a small car.

The most crucial point was... Di Niu couldn't win!

With her hands and feet immobilized, she could at most try not to be dragged, but winning the tug-of-war would be utterly impossible.

"How about we... draw lots?" Wang Ge suggested. "Let's pick the fairest way—no one tries to run. Anyway, two will survive, and they can watch each other. Hide the 'Dao', and next time we come back, we split it. We're from the same rooms, so no one can cheat anyone. What do you say?"

Qi Xia saw their decision and couldn't help but smile. Yes, none of them would escape.

Even if they didn't die in the game, the hidden 'Dao' would be found by the 'Lü Yi' that come out at night to forage. The survivors would be suspected no matter what, even if they jumped into the Huang He River.

The rift between the two rooms would form, and in the end, no one would trust each other. Former comrades who relied on each other for life and death would become enemies deceiving one another.

That was the terror of this land.

The group pooled together six 'Dao' from their pockets and marked two of them with small stones. They looked around, and their gazes settled on Qi Xia.

Di Niu noticed their looks and slowly turned her head, realizing Qi Xia was sitting behind her.

She stared at him silently, her face expressionless.

"Wang Ge held them!"

"You say."

Qi Xia replied.

"Help us hold these six 'Dao'," Wang Ge said after thinking for a moment. "We'll take turns drawing. Each time, pick out two—one in your left hand, one in your right—and let us choose left or right."

"I'm just a stranger," Qi Xia sighed, glancing at the beads above. "You're leaving your life and death in the hands of a stranger."

"That's exactly why you're a stranger—no one will object."

Wang Ge finished speaking and handed the six 'Dao' to Qi Xia. Qi Xia casually placed them behind him and then took out two, holding them in his hands.
